Last week, I brought my MacBook Air in for a screen replacement. I scheduled a free consultation…read morethrough their website, and when I arrived, my name was already listed on their service screen as waitlisted. The wait was short, and the staff member who checked me in was incredibly kind and patient. I'll admit--I went in expecting the stereotypical grumpy tech experience, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. Even an older couple ahead of me was treated with care and patience as they asked questions about setting up their new device. It was genuinely impressive. After taking in my laptop, they let me know they'd need to order parts from Apple before proceeding. Since parts only ship on weekdays, they offered to keep me updated via my preferred method--text--which I really appreciated. Throughout the week, their communication was prompt and clear. I was notified as soon as the parts arrived and when new issues came up. That's how I learned that, in addition to my cracked screen, my battery also needed replacement. Via text, I was quoted around $426 for both repairs, which I agreed to, assuming it reflected the total cost for parts and labor. However, when I picked up my laptop yesterday, the final bill came out to over $800. The original ~$426 quote didn't seem to correspond to any of the line items on the receipt. Had I known the total would be nearly double, I likely wouldn't have moved forward with the repair. All that said, I truly appreciated the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. I just wish the pricing had been more transparent and consistent. Here's hoping my now very expensive (and not-so-new) laptop lasts another 10 years to make it all feel worth it.

Outstanding Service from the Tech Support Dream Team I've…read morebeen a loyal Micro Center customer for over 25 years, and that's almost entirely thanks to Rob Brown in the Tech Support Department. Rob is simply the best--knowledgeable, patient, and reliable. He's been my go-to person for a quarter century, and there's a reason I keep coming back: he knows his stuff and genuinely cares about solving problems. Francis Cioffi, who was Rob's manager for many years, has also been incredibly helpful throughout the years. Both Rob and Francis have an encyclopedic knowledge of products and always take the time to find the right solution. This past Sunday really showcased what makes this team exceptional. I brought a friend in who was having issues with her two-month-old Acer Aspire. David Merritt was able to push through a replacement and arrange for the hard drive transfer. Francis made sure the hard drive got to tech support quickly so we wouldn't have to make multiple trips. Then Rob worked through the hard drive replacement and did extensive troubleshooting--nothing about this repair was straightforward, but he stuck with it until everything was working properly. The level of expertise, dedication, and customer care from Rob, Francis, and David is why the St. Davids Micro Center stands out. They don't just sell products--they build lasting relationships and truly support their customers. Highly recommend asking for any of these folks when you visit!

I had taken a Gateway laptop of mine, that was given to me by a beekeeper I worked for in Florida…read morein 2013 , to have software installation done and they returned me a machine that is a inferior model than mine . Gateway model MT6728 , which came out 07/08 has some variations on that model series . The MT6728 , has a wider touchpad and the color of the top cover around it is light grey ; On the machine they returned me , which I tried the following day after I picked it up to have 'them reason with me and give me back my original one , to no use , underneath the touchpad , does Not have a feature that mine had called " Status Indicator " . Other than that , the keyboard on the one they returned , has clear signs of more wear compared to my machine which was in pristine shape and the keys are a lot looser and softer than mine that still had good firm compression action ; First thing I noticed , upon turning the machine on for the first time , was that the Screen was somewhat dimmer than it used to be ; then I realized that the ultra-bright function , which is supposed to work by pressing the Fn + F8 keys , was not working ; my computer did not have this problem , it was working fine. Then , when windows started , it was taking some 80 updates yet ; I took my computer to have W7 installed and they returned it , after keeping it for couple days , with updates yet to do ; No problem , I can do the updates ; problem was , it crashed a couple times while downloading them ; I had ran this machine before with other program and it Never crashed on me ! I Observed that the Fan was running to hard and confirmed that it was hot upon putting my hand in front of the vent ; I then took the Heat sink out , which is fairly ease on these machines , and found it plugged , I mean plugged up with lint and hair ; this is a machine , mine , not other , that , like all others that I have , are cleaned regularly , by myself ; I also noticed that all the screws on the button case were loose . . . I had been a Customer of them for a few years ; in fact , I considered them as friends and the owner himself befriended me when he realized I was from south America because he was planning to go to a trade fair and consulted me several times on what to expect upon his trip . On a previous occasion , when I had taken this same laptop to have a missing driver installed, one of the employees told me he had a model like mine , only mine " was nicer " than his and that his " had screen backlight " problems , according to his own words . . . In fact , he offered to buy mine for something like 40 bucks . . . I am very detail oriented because of my work with the Bees that teaches you a lot about organization . I come to the conclusion based upon the facts and knowledge that this company had about me , that they committed minority discrimination assuming that I wouldn't take any course of action .

been going there since at least my 286 still the same great family that has run it for well over…read more20 years and still as great of service , never once have i walked out saying did i get everything i need , or did i get over charged like some of the bigger stores back in the day , this place has survived them all . looking forward to getting the skylake 6600k rather soon from them i know i will leave knowing i will have no compatibility issues with anything i am installing in to the desktop .
