Fresno Yosemite International Airport - FAT - Sequoias inside the terminal

Fresno Yosemite International Airport - FAT

I am here at least once a month picking up and dropping off my boyfriend. The airport is always…read moreclean, has plenty of service desks available, usually isn't too crowded, they have shaded spaces outdoors to sit and it is newly renovated. We love grabbing a delicious salmon bagel and a drink from inside and appreciate all the local things to do info around. The sequoias make a great addition inside and a piece of our local natural offerings that everyone should see, explore and appreciate the magnificence of. The airport is small and with lots of clear signage it makes it easy to navigate. Fresno PD always makes their presence known.

I've flown in and out of FAT more than a few times now, and while it's definitely one of the easier…read moreairports to navigate, it still feels a bit behind for a city this size. The good news is that it's super quick to get through--you can usually get from the curb to your gate in record time compared to LAX or SFO. It's clean, and the "giant sequoia" forest theme in the terminal is a nice touch for visitors. However, it really needs more to do. There's a major lack of variety when it comes to shops and interactive things to keep you busy during a delay. If you've already grabbed a coffee, you're basically just sitting at the gate staring at your phone. It would be great to see more local boutiques or even some interactive exhibits about the nearby National Parks to kill time. The biggest headache, though, is the baggage claim. They really need to expand that area and add an extra belt. When two or three flights land at the same time, that small space gets incredibly cramped, and it feels like forever before the bags actually start moving.

Brix Mansion - the italian villa mansion is finished with baroque ornamentation

This is the only Italian Villa mansion with a baroque ornamentation that you would ever find in…read moreFresno, so tourist, architecture buffs and history lovers, this is perfect place for you to visit. This is a historic site and it should be on your must visit list while in Fresno. This mansion located in downtown Fresno, is one of its kind and unfortunately it is now a law office and doesn't showcase the lavish feature of its interior anymore to the public: three story twelve luxurious room, 4500 sq feet space. However the exterior of the house really is something to see and take plenty of picture off. Plus if you do visit this building, it wont be the only thing on your list to visit because 1 block away is the St John Cathedral and also the Meux mansion. There is no parking around its since its really close to the community hospital, I would suggest parking on R street near the church and take the opportunity to appreciate and take pictures of this architecture marvel. It looks like something that should be in Hollywood to be honest. most people in Fresno can pass it without even knowing that they have this beautiful building. If you must know the building was constructed for Herman H. and Helena S. Brix in 1910-1911. Herman H. Brix made a pioneering contribution to the development of Coalinga and was influential in the commercial expansion of Fresno. In addition to its historical associations, the Brix Mansion possesses considerable architectural significance. Designed by architect Edward T. Foulkes, it represents a brilliant example of a period-inspired Italian Villa, the only residence in Fresno built in this lavishly-embellished style. So take the opportunity to visit this unique mansion and bring your friends to impress them about the landmarks and historical building of Fresno.

I went to Bullard High and would always walk here with my friends after school. Over the years, things have changed a bit, but not for the worse. I frequent Wholefoods and La Boulangerie. Love that Anthropologie was added in the recent years- fits the demographic more than when it was at Fashion Fair. They had a juicery but recently replaced it with Wetezel Pretzel. Uncle Harry's is also back in the mix! Not sure why they ever left this shopping center. There is a little bit of everything here from Sushi to burgers, sandwiches, cookies, ice cream, pizza, brewery, etc. Some things I would love to see added one day: Froyo, North Face, Kate Spade, Free people, crate and barrel, club Monaco or even Zara would be nice. =)

I asked the salesperson about it and she said "Oh, that is just the stuff that didn't sell at the last sale and we are just trying to get rid of it". I was shocked that that was all they had to offer. What a total joke of a sale it was. I will now go to another Bath and Body Works store to see if they have the same rinky-dink 75% off sale or if it's a "Real" Sale. What's up with this?
