We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Portland. On one of the nights, we decided to have a drink at the lobby. The paloma was delicious and perfectly made with a light salt and tajin rim and a dried grapefruit. On this night, we noticed a few people lined up and talking at the tables nearby. After awhile, we heard someone say that it was time to switch. We quickly realized it was a speed dating event!! I wanted to jump in, but my husband said no. It was perfect for people watching and I absolutely loved that they had this experience in Portland. The rooms were nice. I loved the showers. They were big and have glass doors. The bathroom doors are large and it doesn't give much room for privacy in the restroom. But, I like that the sink and restroom area are separate. There is a small fridge and teeny closet. I stayed for 5 nights at the Ace. Loved the location, friendly staff, comfortable room with a great view. I was in a corner room and it really amplified the experience by being able to see the street. A little noisy outside during construction, but it didn't bother me. I'd recommend putting a light in the amenities closet for an even better experience, but the rest was top notch. Also, the guy who runs IT for the hotel is awesome. Did I come to the Ace Hotel just for the photo booth? I sure did. Photo Booths are one of my love languages (yes, I know that doesn't make much sense, but can we make an exception?) I didn't stay the night but based off of the lobby alone, I just might have to take a trip back to Portland for it. This hotel is a dream come true to me. From the color palette, friendly lobby staff, vintage-esque photo booth, and a coffee shop attached- what more could I ask for? The photobooth gives that vintage feel and is a main attraction to tourists like me. Even with the vintage look, they do accept credit cards. It is a cramped space that barely fits two people but comes out with the cutest, close-up photos. It takes a moment to come out but waiting on the lobby couches and chairs can bring serotonin as it has the family style setting surrounding a large coffee table. After getting our photo strips and chilling in the lobby, we walked on over to the Stumptown Coffee shop attached. A great quick lil stop in the Ace Hotel while shopping around the area! read more

I like the Ace as a brand: cost conscious, friendly staff, includes breakfast, urban and stylish. I don't necessarily like the Ace as an experience: no parking at the hotel & must utilize nearby Whole Foods lot ($20) to park or alternatively $50 per night valet at a nearby hotel, too small robes, sink in the room not the bathroom, dim lights, their "fun" Photo Booth out of order & bare bones. Think of the Ace as hipster dorms in a somewhat gritty location, and you are on the right track. I like it for the most part, but it's not for everyone. It's not the fault of the Ace Hotel that drug addiction exists on the streets of Portland, but we did pull up to unhoused people shooting up directly in front of the hotel, which was tough to see. Also sad to see that COVID has closed down several nearby businesses, which also is not the fault of the Ace. Additional downtown shops are just a few blocks away. It didn't help that our room looked out directly on the neon sign for the Ace, which glowed blue all night, despite completely closing our shades. The staff here is friendly, the price is fair for what you get (cost effective, includes simple breakfast, but missing parking and other amenities.) After staying happily now at several other hotels downtown, we'll opt for another spot for our next visit. read more

We went to Portland to hear about time-shared vacation sites. We were booked by Monster, who I would never recommend. About two weeks before our trip I needed to change to an ADA room. My husband now needs to use a walker to navigate. I was told we would have a great stay and that everything was good, HOWEVER, when we checked in and went to our room it was not an ADA. We could not get one of the 4 at that hotel. Monster dropped the ball. They never helped us out and the Clyde Hotel had no ADA rooms for us available. There is a large step when entering the hotel, which my husband had to work hard to get up or down as the door wanted to close and he was using a walker. The saving factor was the staff. They were kind, concerned and helpful. They made the hotel very desirable. Ireland (a lady on the front desk) really helped us; Eric (maintenance) brought in a chair for my husband to sleep in that was sturdy enough for him to put his weight on the arms to push up and reach for his walker. We wish to thank all of the staff for their service and open attitudes. Our experience was not the best, but it wasn't so much the hotel as it was the book agency, Monster, I would not buy a bone for the dog from Monster let alone a time share. I could change my mind and review of them if they come through on the other 3 vacation packages. read more

I was just here with my toddler, we were sitting in the lobby when she fell off the couch and started crying. As I was consoling her, The person behind the front desk came over in a panic and asked me "can you get your child to stop screaming and crying?" I am in total shock. I have never been reprimanded for having a very natural circumstance. The persono walked away in a huff and was mumbling things under their breath. It was disgusting. This is the second Ace Hotel I've stayed at. There are some pluses and minuses to this hotel. Great location- near public transportation and good food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters is connected. Powell's Books is down the street. So many good places to eat at nearby, but I didn't realize it until after I checked out. Email confirmations somehow get lost, but my interactions via phone and in person with the staff were great. I loved the free breakfast, which consisted of pastries from St. Honore Bakery, fresh fruit, OJ, tea and coffee. Water was also available in the lobby. The lobby has a photobooth that everyone takes a picture in. They lock the lobby door at 8pm, but you can ring the doorbell to be let in. The small room is a decent size, but I didn't like it. The bath is spacious but it's a step high. There's a freestanding tub enclosed with a shower curtain. The bath products are Rudy's Barbershop, which I love. The sink is outside and too low. The vanity mirror is too high. The iron is a fabric steamer, which I like. The bed is comfortable. You can hear your neighbors, but it's not too loud. Access to the room is a real key, which I was shocked about since most places use cards. It's pet friendly, which is awesome but a cat ran out of the room next to me and scared me. Overall, it's a unique place to stay at. I am on the fence on whether I would stay there again b/c I didn't love the room but I'm also the person who stays at the New York location in a bunk bed b/c it's the cheapest despite getting whacked in the head by the top bunk, so I might return one day. read more

Used to be the Ace Hotel, now the Clyde Hotel by Kasa. Kasa is private equity that bought the Ace, cut costs, cut staff and turned it into a dump. There's a virtual check in which you won't know about if you book through Priceline like I did. nobody around to ask a question and there finally was a rude loser creep I wish I'd never encountered. Room was tiny and cramped with zero ventilation and smelled like farts. it's really a shame that this is the direction so many things are going. vast pools of wealth buy up anything of value and strip if for parts while ruining what made it cool in the first place. I plan to never patronize a Kasa property again. There are plenty of good hotels in Portland. read more

Super cool place - epic level of Portland vibe and style - it's the difference of Portland vs other places like LA but in a hotel. Record players and records in your room, it's right next to the infamous stumptown coffee and connected in the lobby. You get real keys and stylish robes and it feels like an apartment you wished for upon a star as a 21 year old. You've seen it in the Show Portlandia as "The Deuce" Why not 5 stars? Some of the customer service stuff matters. Not having an elevator that takes 12mins to show up would go a long way. Having hosts that are as warm and responsive as your favourite waiter would help. Parking would help. Will definitely go again but will save 5 stars for a more top notch experience on top of the cool spaces and room read more

Really more like 4.5 stars. I had a nice stay at the Ace with a friend for 4 nights. Really unique, cool hotel. Total PDX vibes. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Anthony was helpful ahead of time when I inquired about a promo deal that I received and I was able to save some money on our booking. We stayed in a standard room with double beds. Room was smallish, but had everything we needed. The only drawback is definitely the bathroom setup. Luckily, we had one (and not the shared option) but the door is essentially a sliding barn door which offers pretty much zero privacy. Like, it is not sound proof, friends. Breakfast in the morning was great- a nice offering of pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee. Lobby is super cute- photobooth was awesome! OK, yes, there are homeless in the area but it was nowhere near as bad as I had anticipated. Maybe because I live in a city I am used to some grittiness, but I never felt unsafe. You will quickly learn which areas to avoid. At night, they lock the door and you have to buzz in which I appreciated. Would I bring kids to Portland? maybe not, but this place was in a great central location with tons of stuff nearby and gave us a good taste of the city. Recommend! read more

The negatives were: I stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear the loud thumping of the lobby music all night long and the staff wouldn't turn it off. Great service in a beautiful historic building at a prime location - what else could you want? The room we stayed in (I assume all are like this) was a great mix of old and new. A large walk-in shower with beautiful tile work and a comfortable bed meant we were recharged and refreshed for our day on the town. The location downtown puts you within easy walking distance of Powell's, Voodoo, Waterfront Park, and countless other downtown attractions. Easy Max Line access also makes this the perfect "home base" for exploring the rest of the city. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful, and the lobby and loft creates ample opportunity to mix with other travellers. Not mentioned on some booking sites is the complimentary coffee and pastries available each morning in the pantry. If you came in a car, be prepared to haul your gear a block or two since the hotel has only one 15 minute loading zone. But the front desk clerk's recommendation to park at the Brewery Blocks garage means your vehicle will stay safe overnight at an affordable cost, so don't let the lack of parking deter you! read more

When my homie and I went to see Radiohead in April, we figured Ace Hotel would be a chill yet somewhat upscale hotel exuding Portland's notorious hipster vibe. Well, we were right about the chill factor. I could endure the glacial lobby, but in hindsight, our wintry welcome was the tip of this sinking iceberg. Since each hotel room has its own design concept, I assumed we booked the poorly insulated igloo theme. There wasn't any trendy interior decor, save an owl wall decal, to indicate otherwise. Igloo glamping, really; a single, flimsy shower curtain separated the bathroom from the rest of the room. I shit you not: a SHOWER CURTAIN. What happens in the bathroom does not stay in the bathroom, but instead reverberates through the walls, spraying sounds straight into the ears of anyone else within the entire room. Just brace yourself for a symphony of even an inkling of tinkling while you're trying to read, relax, or do what most normal guests do in hotels. Insider tip: The Stumptown coffee shop downstairs has a throne of a toilet, should you not want your business to be the business of whoever you're staying with. But back to the igloo. Our room was freezing, and remained shiver-status no matter how much we adjusted the thermostat. Burrowed in two sweaters and a jacket, I was still shivering. We called the front desk, who sent up a friendly but seemingly clueless (he arrived without any kind of tools) flannel-shirt flaunting dude. Or maybe he was a lumberjack, I haven't seen many technicians rocking that uniform. Flannel Man basically did to the heater what I do when my computer isn't working: he turned it off, then turned it back on. He then told us he'd go downstairs to check whether the system was showing up as broken on the mainframe. Fifteen minutes or so later, Flannel Man came back to report that the system wasn't showing up as broken. He fiddled with the nobs some more (high tech maneuvers) and then told us that if the problem continued, they'd send up space heaters and blankets. After about 30 minutes and two pulls of vodka (resorting to Russian warmth methods), we called the front desk begging for those space heaters and blankets. Finally, survival equipment arrives: two space heaters. And then the power goes out. Twice. A significant amount of our evening was spent making calls to management, who were delayed with both repairs as well as delivering basic customer service. When my friend mentioned the possibility of us getting a different room after the first blackout, the hotel staff asked whether we'd be willing to pay for an upgrade. It wasn't until the power went out a second time that they agreed to move us to a new room the next few nights. And this room must have been shmancy status, because it had not a shower curtain but an actual DOOR separating the bathroom from the main room. Also worth noting: the room service menu had a total of 5 items--can that even be considered a menu?--and breakfast delivery was not an option. Since they finally upgraded us after a nippy night (solution to power outages: use one space heater instead of two), Ace earns 2 stars instead of just 1. read more

This review is for "Basic Shared Single" Room: -Queen Bed -Shared bath down hallway -in room sink For non-Diva women like myself who spends bulk of time exploring PdX, not having an en-suite is really not a big deal, plus it's a great way to save $100 to splurge on made-in-Portland souvenirs or pig out at Matt's BBQ. Read quite a few reviews complaining about noise from (1) squeaky wood floor (2) others from the bar late at night. Squeaky wood floor and sound transmission between room is an inherent building characteristics so the hotel provides earplugs. Most of the noise comes from guests walking up and down the main stairs, so ask for a room further down the hallway and one can eliminate 50% of the offending noise. It didn't bother me. The earplugs will also take care of friendly folks coming back from bar night. Both of the rooms were well appointed with typical Ace Hotel amenities and mini bar. There is a kettle and the tea bags are complimentary (coffee is $3.5 / pack).......you are better off to get a fresh cup down at Stumptown. The room felt spacious and well lit. The mattress is NOT on the floor per other guests complaints, but one of the room's mattress does feel too aged/soft and need replacement. There is an extra futon by the side suitable for a child. Air conditioning works really well on hot summer night. Bedside wall plug is an issue-only available in one side of the bed. So bring an extra long cable and two people shall both be able to recharge their phones. Shared bathroom is big and accessible for wheelchair users. It is well stocked with liquid soap, shampoo and container on wall mount so you can skip packing these in to your luggage. Towels are provided too. It would be nice to being a pair of slippers. Other amenities include the lobby lounge, Stumptown coffee and the mezzanine work area made the transition from guest rooms to streets very pleasant. I didn't mind that there is no fitness room or sauna. Overall the rooms have a very good vibe and typically we remember a trip better when staying at Ace rather than some run of the mill branded hotel chains. This is the fourth time we stay at an Ace Hotel (Palm Springs, LA, Portland) and we will definitely come back. Pros: Nicest hotel staff ever. Easy check-in and out process. Stylish lobby and elegant details throughout the hotel. Stumptown coffee next door. The breakfast spread included fresh fruit and very fancy croissants and other baked goods. Central downtown location is walkable to many great restaurants and shops, including Powell's. Cons: i will say that it is an old building with thin walls. I was woken up at 5:30am on a Friday morning by the recycling truck picking up glass and was not really able to get back to sleep. Downtown Portland is a post-apocalyptic wasteland with people huddled in every doorway, tents everywhere and very authentic grime. In the middle of it is the Ace hotel. A textbook example of what happens when no one tells hipsters "no." If I wanted to spend the night on a futon in an indifferently heated room with bare cold floors, I'd have stayed in college. I'm sure someone wants to experience hipster chic with a side of despair but I'll pass. read more

Imagine if someone took an old college dorm building and tried to turn it into a hipster hotel. That's this place. Walking down the hallways, I literally had flashbacks of a college dorm. There's even common areas filled with a bunch of young people reading, typing, and eating. And all complete with random young people in robes and towels walking to and from shared showers. Shared showers and bathrooms? Yep! Be careful which type of room you book here. It's like part hostel, part boutiques spendy hotel. And since it's like part hostel, don't be surprised about the young international crowd with insane amounts of luggage. (There's just one elevator and it's slow and small.) The rooms are nice and all hipster. One of the best mini bars I've had with loads of cool local snack. (And vegan and gluten free and other hipster things.) The nice thing here is the location. Loads of things are just a short walk away. And there's Stumptown coffee, Clyde Common, and an awesome basement bar all right in the same building. So quite convenient. There's no big signs outside or on the door. I had to keep checking I was in the right place. (Am I the only one to be confused?) Comfy bed and overall cute and nice. I'd stay here again. read more

I've stayed in a number of Ace Hotels and everyone of them is nicer than this one. One of the problems is that the first three floors of this hospitality venue is full of rooms that don't have bathrooms or showers-- these floors are like that or a 1920 flop house with a coat of paint and fancy "hipster"bedding. These floors also smell rather awful and though I could not put my finger on the odor I can say for sure it smelled historic but also chemical. Of course when you book a hotel room fast, and you don't study the text, and there is no WARNING NO TOILET badge on the site you are booking your trip with, and if you didn't happen to call me for advice, you are liable to get one of these odious rooms, as I did. So I requested to be upgraded and offered to pay the difference. The front desk refused, citing "Expedia" as the reason. "You'll have to make the change through Expedia". Now anyone who has ever used a booking app knows the path to changing something after the fact is fraught, at best, and often nearly impossible. So I asked the young man at the front desk to work with me so I could get a different room. He again refused to help, but only after pecking around on his keyboard for five minutes. I asked for the manager. He said the manager wasn't there. I asked him if I were to call the manager would he confirm that the front desk of his hotel has absolutely no discretion to help a customer? The young millennial man at the front desk nodded. I looked towards the other millennial at the front desk for a life preserver and he looked away, unwilling to intervene. "What if there were a rat in my room? Would you have discretion to upgrade me then?" Yes, the cleanly shaven young lad nodded. "Then you do have discretion, you're just choosing not to help your customer." He cited Expedia again, his magic bullet. "You do have rooms with toilets and showers, yes?" Yes, he indicated. "And there are available rooms like that?" Indeed there were, and not just one. "And you're refusing to take my money to do an upgrade?" He looked at me and waved his hand between my heart and his and said "Do you think I want this? I don't want this." But I can't believe it. Hotels are in the hospitality business. And this is a "high end hotel". At this point I would like a refund and I'm ready to go sleep anywhere else but... "Sorry, we can't" and I'm upset, I've already had a long day of travel, so I storm up to my stank tiny room with no toilet and spend the next half hour getting Expedia to call the front desk -- and voila!!! For 28 dollars extra I can have a 4th floor room with...a toilet. I would have paid 100 dollars extra at the front desk if they had just been accommodating... but they were not. There are lots of other hotels in Portland. Update: I've since learned that the term for the front desk's behavior is called "quiet quitting". read more

It's a hotel. The beds are fine and the covers are pretty standard. The lobby is very small and not lively. Though the bathroom is very small, to which the sink is just in the bedroom. My main problem was that the shower was not very warm. I think warm water should be a standard at hotels. Also the shower handle came off super easily. The Clyde Hotel was built in 1912 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ace Hotel is built on the site of the Clyde Hotel. I have never stayed at the Ace Hotel but some friends have and they loved it. This Hotel has Hufnagel bikes with helmets and locks that guests may use which is fun. They serve Stumptown Coffee here as well. This is a dog friendly hotel and I was also told that the beds in the rooms are actually hypoallergenic. But whenever I'm with family or friends and we're in the area it is a must to head over to the Ace and take advantage of the old time photo booth to document the moment and just have some fun. :-) The restored vintage photo booth is in the lobby of the Hotel and is so cool. $5 gets you a strip of four poses. So when I got in I realized that the room we booked a bunch bed and a single 3 beds, didn't have a bathroom. I thought it would be an issue but it's been super easy. We don't mind it one but. The bathroom had always been super clean and never busy. The staff had been great and the place pretty quite. It's anchored by a popular coffee shop and on the other a nice restaurant with a sweet happy hour! This place is central to all your Portland sightseeing locations. We have walked to many places from it. Including Washington park. We would definitely recommend staying here. read more

The Ace is my go-to. It's simple, comfortable, and chic in a very utilitarian minimalist hippie sort of way. They use Malin & Goetz in the bathrooms. I love the old wood floors. I really like their in-house serve-yourself breakfast options. This location rocks. read more

This place was not my cup of tea. My travelling companion chose this hotel as he enjoyed the quirkiness of it but for the price and location, I feel you could get a better experience elsewhere. We stayed in a private room with bathroom but there are shared suites and communal bathrooms for those on a budget. This place exudes hipster vibes at the expense of reason. 1. Sink is located next to the bed, a walk from the bathroom. Completely illogical and unsanitary. 2. Window curtains are very heavy and roll up from the bottom rather than the side or top. 3. Shower is sparse. Basic curtain and soap. Felt like I was in a hostel. That said, if you are looking to stay in a blast from the past hotel where you can play records in your room, walk downstairs into a cafe, pay $5 for photo booth pictures and don't easily lose your room key (as it is a physical key), then this may be the place for you. Personally I will stick with the modern hotels where all the little amenities are available and the room is setup in a way that makes sense for travellers. read more

So now I have a room, but it's not as nice and I don't get the stamps... The employee that called was very nice and did get me a room, so I guess that's good... I really like this hotel! It's minimalist, clean and has all the basic necessities you need without the fluff. They do add thoughtful touches to your stay like the baked treats to welcome you, matches by the toilet (haha), really cute comfy robes, plenty of fresh clean towels and well stocked minibar -- alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. In the lobby, the staff at the desk were nice and welcoming. They have a cute photo booth in the waiting area and the lobby is right next to Stumptown coffee which opens at 6am. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a clean, no frills home away from home. I loved the experience! read more

We decided to stay a couple of nights at the Ace during a recent trip to Portland. We landed on the Ace mostly due to its location as we were going to a concert at The Crystal Ballroom during our trip. It is located in the middle of downtown walking distance to all the retail shops, bars, breweries and entertainment you could ever want. The Ace also delivered on its hip PNW vibe with the iconic vintage photo booth and Stumptown cafe in its lobby. That being said, there is some pretty major areas where the Ace did not deliver, some of which being comfort and services. We were put in a 2nd floor room facing Harvey Milk which is a pretty busy street in downtown Portland. Because the building is an older retrofitted unit, the sound dampening is not ideal. One morning we were woken up at 5:30am by the glass recycling truck dumping the blocks glass into its metal bit every 5 minutes for 45 minutes straight. That same morning, after we fell back asleep, we were woken up a seconnd time by the made service entering our room even though the "do not disturb" sign was on our door. This same thing happened our second night of our stay, which is a little harder to rationalize. Long story short, the Ace delivers on the location and vibe but under delivers on comfortability and privacy. The front desk people were very polite and willing to help with any issues/question we had. Pro-Tip! Request a room on the top floor with its own shower so you don't have to share a bathroom with other guests or listen to people above your room walk around. read more

Totally love this place. It's close to the places that I want to go to. Good happy hours at Clyde Common in the afternoon and late night; and great value all you can eat breakfast in the morning. This review is a work in progress - because I've booked myself to stay in the Ace for two nights - and tonight is just my first evening here. But as of now I am impressed. I feel like I'm chilling in a super chic friend's pad - as I type this. The heating is set on high. I have David Letterman playing on a tiny flat screen TV. I'm seated low on a soft futon style bed with a comforting brown blanket atop of it. And the pillows are downright - where it's at. Padded heaven. The small touches like a record player right by my bed, Maln and Goetz shampoo and conditioner, a unique bar food stock - including maple waffle-like cookies (I'm considering going for it), a cactus, and hip local magazines - briefing me on where to go - all make the Ace hotel -just that Ace. It's not only hip - but it has genuine warm character. There's an adorable black and white photo booth in the lobby - beside a trendy, but inviting lounge area.The guy at the desk was beyond friendly. And the location is beyond ideal. Located right across from Powell's and situated right between a popping bar/restaurant and one of the best coffee spots in the city. You can't go wrong. Oh yeah - and if you're a coffee fiend - you can get Stumptown coffee room service....unreal. I know you can find more luxurious locations, more amenities. But where else has been mentioned in a Bon Iver song? Where else can you take a bath in a claw-foot tub while listening to their Lauren Hill albums on vinyl? Where else can you get Stumptown onsite and eat it on your army blanket bedspread? Hip, clever, and retro but not the most comfortable or practical place to stay. In some ways, it's quite no frills. The walls are thin, the building is old and on Saturday night it sounds like there's a club downstairs (music, shouting). You will hear your neighbors in the hall. If they choose to use the stereo in the room, I'm sure plenty of others will hear it too. The look and feel of the place reminded me of my college dorm. There aren't any comfy chairs in the standard deluxe room ($155/night) but the Pendleton wool blanket on the bed and the robes are comfy. The lights in the room are glaring. The toilet paper isn't soft. The TV is small. They do have free wi-fi (it's slow though). You can order coffee from Stumptown and food from Clyde Common. The lobby has free wi-fi, bikes for rent and a photo booth. There are different types of rooms (different sizes and amenities). Each room features the work of a local artist. Ours featured a multi-eyed monster. You might be sharing the bathroom and shower in the hall. Whoever decided to put the stand-up shower in the room without any thought for privacy, what were they thinking? It's strange! Also, there is no lock on the bathroom door (where the toilet is). The location is very central (across from Powell's Books). There are plenty of paid parking lots you can use. If you were excited about the toiletries, the Malin + Goetz shampoo and body wash are bolted in to the dispenser, so you can't take them unless you bring your own bottles and a pipette. You do get mini bottles of M + G conditioner though. * Things I found: hairdryer, makeup towel, iron, ironing board, snacks & drinks in the room (for sale) * Things I didn't find: coffeemaker, fridge, safety deposit box, gym, hot plate, microwave They still use real room keys, not cards. This is an update review because I'm still totally in love with this hotel. I just stayed at the ACE in Portland for a second time and left my trip wishing I could steal the bed, the linens, the furniture, and those giant military-esque pillows that serve as headboards to the bed! The man who checked me in was different from the man last time, (just two or so months ago) but he was equally friendly and helpful. I love it when you go somewhere and you're impressed by an employee's attitude and you come to realize it's actually the entire staff's attitude! I would guess that the people who are employed here really like their jobs. I stayed on the second floor this time around and decided to use the advice on the sign in the elevator that reads, "If you took the stairs you'd be there by now." The elevator is awesome but slow. So I hiked up the stairs to the second floor only to find a lovely little study lofted above the check-in area. I wish I could just hang out at this hotel all the time! I would have loved to just sit on their deep set couches and get lost in a book. In addition to loving the furniture, and the service, I also like the fixtures they use in the hotel. Has anyone noticed that the wallpaper in the lobby bathroom is made of sheets of paper used in those old player pianos? GENIUS! The sexy claw foot tub in my room was also a bonus. If you're looking for a chic place, even on somewhat of a budget, don't pass up the ACE Hotel. Each room is unique and the walls are decorated with some kind of art or message. This time the walls in my room taught me how to say "When he kissed her on the cheek it made him dizzy" in sign language. Thanks, ACE! read more
