There was dirt piled up along the walls and baseboards. Actual litter was found throughout the store. Floor was in bad need of a good mopping. It was just disgusting. In fact there were several items we could have went back 4 but we both decided we didn't wanna be in that store again. It was a filthy excuse for a Dollar General. What made it even worse was that there was 3 staff members working on Saturday afternoon and none of them were cleaning. They were all chit chatting and doing nothing. I was pretty much ignored until they had to tell me my total and give me my receipt. I sure hope that this location gets cleaned up because it is a nice spot for tourists. Once I finished shopping, I was privileged to be in the checkout line to witness Target employee Chris interacting with the customers ahead of me. He was so professional and friendly, handling each person as if he knew them, issuing a warm smile with every interaction. I saw other Target associates come to him asking when to take their breaks or how to handle a particular issue. Chris quickly answered them without losing track of the task or customer in front of him. When it was my turn in line, I asked him how long he had been in management because he looked so young. To my surprise, he told me that he was not a manager. I wish more people with customer service jobs took the time to engage with those around them, as Chris at Target in Marion, IL, does.
