We ended up special ordering the 10 x 10 Discovery pergola, and the process was easy thanks to the Ace Team! Sean placed the order for us, took down our information, and called us as soon as it arrived at the store. He even let us know the measurements so we could accurately prepare for pickup. When we picked it up two weeks later, the Ace guys helped my husband load it into his truck and then we were on our way. We are so thankful to have a local hardware store. Yes, Lowe's just opened in Haslet and we could've just as easily ordered from there or even Amazon. But Ace has more of a local, neighborhood feel and the staff are so friendly. Today I just so happened to need to go to the hardware store without my husband as he is working today. My first thought was "ugh" because as a female going into the hardware store it's generally one of two types of experiences. Either they are very helpful, but talk you into buying a bunch of crap you don't need or the most expensive. Or they do not help whatsoever this experience was neither of those which is what made it so different from other experiences. This was my 1st time into this location. Alex was very welcoming and kind from the moment he walked over. He did not appear to be bothered or in a rush. He was very knowledgeable answered all of my questions about my current project and about 10 other projects. This was more of a genuine interaction verse just a get me out the door. We went over several options that I was needing for my current project, including his recommendation of what he uses. With another project, I was looking for a new exactly where to find what I needed and not just for that project for all of the projects I had referred to which made it a pleasant visit with Grace and not just somebody running around, trying to know where something was. With Alex in the store I will make it my number one go to for projects in the future. read more

LOL, agree with Jerry L. in that this should have been a restaurant or something. Look, nice to have a clean new Ace Hardware closer to me than the big box shop, and I want to shop here, but c'mon Ace... No price match or military discount at this location. Pretty much everything I have price checked is more expensive than Lowes (would be worse against HD prices, but Lowes is closest to me). Then account for the higher prices and no MD. Kind of feel bad for their investment here when the Haslett Lowes has been public knowledge for 2+years. I fear you'll need to get more competitive (policies & pricing) if you will survive the next 3-years. read more

No pre emergent.. for spring. No pull cord mechanism for a Briggs basic mower. You sell mowers and should have parts that break. Hardware stores used to have what you need. Lady helping was great wondering same thing expecting it to be on wall too. then manager showed up and came off as a dick saying they have never carried a pull cord even his "19 years at Lowe's". Then argued, They in fact did. A few years ago. Used to be in stock, this is a common failure. Everything is Overpriced by a lot Comparing Amazon and Home Depot. They should have put in a restaurant instead. Do better. I will drive out of my way to save money. read more

Great to have a more local hardware store. Staff is friendly and helpful. So far they have saved us a ton of time vs driving to Boyd or all the way to Home Depot. Pricing is about the same as HD. I purchased some stain and it was the same price as Lowe's. read more
