*Note: This is a 4.5 Star review…read more I'm excited to share that my "engagement house" renovations are speeding up and, yes, we started to shop for furniture/fixtures! Our architect was more than willing to help us out in purchasing what we need. He suggested that we go to his "Suki" store and ended up here. For me, I wanted to go somewhere where I go buy everything at a very reasonable price. Plus, we were recommended to go here because our architect has a membership card! 5% off is still a good discount! The warehouse is fairly small compared to the ones in Pasig. But, the selection they have are the reliable brands that come with a good price tag. However, they didn't have some brands that I wanted to buy. A bit inconvenient but I plan to just go to the main branch for other items. The one thing I didn't like was that, when we needed help, it took quite awhile for any staff to help us. Only when they noticed that we were buying in bulk that they started to eagerly help out. When their staff did start helping us, they provided useful, informed, and practical advise on which product to buy. In the end, we bought 3 sets of toilets and sinks, 2 sets of showers, my kitchen sink and other fixtures! After adding it all up with the 5% discount, we were ready to pay. Then, the manager approached us and offered that we pay Cash on Delivery. Whut?! That is unheard of but, of course, we accepted! This shopping trip really got me excited for the next few weeks! :D

Whether it's to repair a leak in the faucet or a squeaky hinge or if you want tiki torches for your garden. What's really good about this place is that the personnel that they assign to each section really knows their products. They know which ones you need and will point you to the right direction. And they're not after selling you the most expensive products. They tell you which ones best suit your needs and will last longer even if it's cheaper than the one you originally set your eyes on. It's always a pleasure being assisted by salespeople who knows what they're doing and are not always after profits. I think more than the extensive selection of products, the attitude of their personnel is their more important asset.

This isn't the biggest branch, but they aren't as flooded with people as the nearby MegaMall so you can expect more attention and assistance if that is important to you. Also, they tend to have stocks available for in-demand obscure items that have a quicker turnover rate at busier branches. They sell items from the cheapest brand until the very high end ones so you have a choice to either splurge and get the best items or stay within the budget and still get a good quality merchandise. I love to redecorate once in a while so I easily buy everything that I need at this store, there are many competent staff that will help you choose the right item and show you what you are really looking for (I dont deny that don't know what a certain tool is called and mostly explain to the staff what I am needing it for or whta it looks like) I remember that I needed to do some digging and cutting in the garden so I went to ace to buy a shovel and a shear but got confused- heck, I didn't even know that there are eight types of shovel and six types of garden shears to choose from! so I am thankful to the employees that help me choose what type is the best for me. Additional to the staff, I adore Ace Paints! There are so many shades and special colors avaiabled that can't be seen at the local hardware store, but can be mixed by the staff using a very entertaining paint mixer-shaker that evenly distributes the color in the can. Ace Hardware also carry all things that I need for my home, like padlocks and bolts for my family's security, led lights- a bright alternative to incandescent bulbs, wires and cables for ease, garden tools for my greens, and basic tools just to make life a little bit easier. Ace has it all.

I'm always on the look out for shoes that fit me! And when I see something that fits, more often not I buy it already. One the shoe stores that I have come to love (because they have my size yay!) is Charles and Keith. It may look like it's a western brand but in reality, it's a Singaporean brand. They sell really trendy shoes! But I'm glad some of the shoes have this classic look so I still use them for the office. As much as I want the shoes to made out of leather (for durability purposes), I only sell the synthetic kind. Their shoes though are quite comfortable. Just make sure you walk around the store wearing the shoes before you buying a pair. I love their bags and glasses here as well! You can be fashionable without breaking the bank!

We decided to stick to one place for everything we needed and Ortigas Home Depot was and is the best place to go. Ortigas Home Depot has a variety of furniture, lighting, tiles, bathroom needs, and more on display. Apart from that, there are many other small shops which provide services like installation of custom window blinds or even a sauna in your bathroom. There are two floors in this store. The second floor is where you will find the high-end furniture shops and Blims. Unlike the other stores that we visited, we appreciated that the staff did not follow us around like vultures and try to sell us while we browsed. The staff was quick to help us out and even helped us save some money by giving us a great deal on our purchases! We looked at other furniture depots but none of their inventory and good deals could compare. The Home Depot also has different ways to finance the furniture you purchase through them that fit your needs. If you're looking to purchase new furniture and fixtures, I recommend stopping by this place and don't be shy to ask if they have promotions. They can even reserve fixtures for you until you are ready to pick it up!

I have zero knowledge on paint so imagine just how elated I was to find a paint center that was not just near, but also had pleasant and very helpful staff. I would go there, tell them what I need to paint, what material it is, the size and the quantity, then they recommend the kind of paint and the amount of paint I should buy. This has happened on three separate occasions and I must say that I am dumbfounded at how their estimate is always on point and accurate. They would also give me advice on treating the material first so it would turn out to be more cost effective or less labor intensive. I feel like they don't just sell me stuff to make money, but really care about the quality of the output. They recommend even up until the kind and size of brush or roller that I can use, which is beyond remarkable because they really don't make much from me anyway but serve me very well nevertheless.

You're better off at settling in 1 store where you can keep your sanity intact and your gas tank right above low. So where is this hardware that promises to give these things? It's the Wilcon Depot at Filinvest City in Alabang. My brother-in-law swears by it, and believe me he is the most anal person when it comes to these things. I came here yesterday to help him buy locks and other things for his almost finished house and it took us a few minutes to find everything we need. I would have loved to walk around more because of the nice tile selection inside but we didn't have a lot of time. I still have the leash that I bought up to this day so I know that they sell products that are of good quality as well.
