While visiting home recently my Dad needed to buy a new battery for his riding lawnmower. He had…read morecalled around to several different businesses and multiple locations to find if they had it in stock and he could come pick it up. He had called a different Lowe's location, but we ended up coming here because we were already in the area. We walk in and were helped immediately. The employee from the area helped to the best of his ability. I know not everyone is going to know everything about every item in a store, I was in that position once in my life as well. But it felt like an eternity here going over the batteries available. My Dad had a little bit of a hard time with the price. On the phone, remember, this was not the Indiana location, he was quoted a price that was not reflected on the shelf. He brought this up and was flat out told they wouldn't match a price from another location. Understandable, but what wasn't understandable was the reasoning this 'manager' gave us. I put manager in quotes because I don't think she really was and was just pulled over to make it seem that way. The reason she gave us was that other locations run different promotions. -_- Ah, nope, that's not how a national chain works. This isn't an Ace or True Value where you franchised with them. Lowe's is a national chain that runs the same sales at every single location. Girl, that didn't even make sense. I perseverated on that the rest of the day. The only good thing was that they had the battery, they took the old battery, and something about a core charge. I think I was disassociating at that point and not paying attention. I just wanted to get out of there. ...different promotions...get out of here with that...

Do not give any business to Lowe's in Indiana PA. They refuse to connect you to a supervisor when…read moreyou ask. You have hours in wait time for customer service. They pile way too many deliveries in one time slot which makes ALL the delivery times later than the window. I ordered a fridge and had some trouble disconnecting the water. I moved all the furniture and propped open the doors. I looked up on youtube how to shut off the water. I thought it was shut off. The delivery person was over a half an hour late. I ended up getting help from a neighbor to get the water shut off and disconnected. The deliver person pulled out as it was disconnected. He was there less than 20 minutes. I did not ask him to connect the fridge. I did not ask him to plug it in. I called to complain and was told the manager would call me back...after being disconnected 3 times while on hold. The manager never called. The warehouse/delivery scheduling person called and said they could deliver sometime on Friday. But could not give me an exact time. I had already taken time off work on Wednesday so I could not do it Friday. I asked to speak to the warehouse supervisor. She also stated she could not get it to me at a specific time on Friday and I said to cancel it. She said "fine." They next day i get a message stating they are delivering my fridge on Saturday. The one I cancelled. I called the store and they cannot cancel it. I have to refuse delivery. I chatted online with customer service and registered a complaint about the delivery driver AND the store manager. I was told to expect a call from corporate within 48 hours. No one contacted me. I was also told they cannot leave the fridge unless someone over 18 signs for it. And I was told they cannot charge me unless I receive delivery. I was not at home when they tried to deliver it. And now they have charge my credit card for a fridge I do not have and do not want. Lowes has shown me nothing but disrespect. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!

Now I'm not as handy as most people, but I know when it comes to needing something from a hardware store, this is the place I go when I'm in this neck of the woods. This is a family owned business. Decent pricing and they seem to know who you are when you walk in the door. I believe financing is available if you are in a pinch which is a huge plus. Sometimes small towns have some of the best hidden businesses. Always a pleasure when you find one of them.

Best place for lumber, much better quality than the big retailers for the same price. I used to go…read moreto Home Depot for wood because I liked being able to sort through the stack to get the best and straightest boards, and at Bobik's they pick it for you and load it into your car, but every 2x4 I got at Bobik's was straight and better than Home Depot's best boards. You get top quality "premium" for the same price as Home Depot's lower quality "choice" boards. Also, they custom-cut a perfect-fit replacement pane of window glass for me, and I think it was like 7 bucks! Being close to home makes it a better value than driving to Altoona or Johnstown anyway.
