We consider Ace Drain to not only be the gold standard in plumbing (for jobs big OR small), but one of the few flawless contractors we've ever used. It's a family-run business which Shane took over from his dad, so Shane has seen it all: his plumbing knowledge runs deep and he's a terrific problem solver. Our story: we discovered that we had a below-slab break in our kitchen sink drain, which was our rude awakening to the fact that cast iron drains have a shelf life of about 60 years before crumbling -- not good news, since we live in a 60 year old house (!). Clearly, this was the beginning of what promised to be an ongoing problem. We had met Shane and the Ace Drain team as the go-to plumber for the contractor who had just completed what we were hoping was going to be the final household renovation project for some time, so learning of the extent of the drain problem was sobering: it sounded like it was going to be messy, invasive and expensive. (Important side note: if you're planning to renovate an old house, redo the drains before doing cosmetic renovation -- "ground up." It will be so much easier during the demo phase, since you don't want the mess and expense of having to rip up floors and redo them later -- major life lesson learned). Shane had already done excellent work for us in the recent past like rootering our sewer line and installing our tankless water heater, so we were confident with his abilities. It was initially looking like he would have to tear up the floor of our kitchen to get at the root of the problem, which would have forced an unwanted kitchen remodel and tons of additional expense. But after further investigation and problem solving, Shane was able to bypass our kitchen entirely and replace our crumbling drains via "trenchless pipe bursting," which is accomplished via two entry points: one in our backyard just outside the kitchen, and one in our laundry area (which thankfully meant being able to section off the messiest part of the job). From there, along with a third entry point in the garage, Shane and his team were able to access and replace the entire network of drains on that side of our three-bathroom house. With two more openings in our front yard, we were able to access the drains on the opposite side of our house which we decided to proactively "sheath" (line the interiors with new coating) to extend their life another 30 years or more since they still had not deteriorated to the extent that the others had. And the no-brainer was to proactively replace any exterior sewer drains that we hadn't yet done piecemeal over the years (as various sewer backups forced the situation). Our biggest takeaway: through experience, anything that can go wrong in renovation projects will go wrong -- and the scale of this drain renovation project was such that we were awaiting the inevitable complications and/or human error. But Shane and his team exceeded expectations: contrary to the scope of the operation, the drain replacement was the smoothest renovation we've ever experienced. Any problems were anticipated and solved, and the team was focused, respectful and tidy. A note about the expense: whole-house drain replacement is a major job so it's going to be costly no matter who you use (encompassing not just the plumbing, but the demo and subsequent replacement of floors, paint, etc). Most insurance carriers will not reimburse for the plumbing, which they consider ordinary wear and tear rather than a disaster. HOWEVER, our carrier DID reimburse for what they call "access and egress" -- basically, the demolition, floor replacement, concrete, paint and finishing work. That cost was literally HALF of the overall job total, so if you find yourself in our predicament, press your insurance carrier to pony up. We've attached some photos from the job: 3 shots of our 60 year old deteriorated iron pipes; the two-entry-point trenchless in front for the sewer line replacement; the "after" of the exterior kitchen; and the "before" access point on the back side of our laundry room read more

I have had a leaky hose bib for years. I have replaced washers, stems, stem nut packing - nothing lasted very long and we just adjusted to the faucet leaking when we turned it on. My wife had a fancy bronze hose bib with a bird handle that I tried to replace the leaky faucet with, but couldn't get the faucet hot enough to break the solder joint. I finally went to Yelp and looked for plumbers to give me a quote. Ace Drain & Rooter Service had by far the best rating and best reviews, so I gave them a call and made an appointment for later that day. Shane came out, saw the installation, I told him what we wanted, showed him the bird hose bib. He gave me a quote, I accepted it and Shane said he could do it right then. Shane was friendly, personable professional and efficient. In less than 45 minutes he had cut off the old faucet, cleaned, polished and installed the new arrangement exactly the way we wanted it done. Couldn't be more satisfied, and will definitely use them again. read more

Shane was extremely helpful. The service was done quickly and professionally. I can't believe how right everything went. I will definitely be using them for future needs! read more

Got home from vacation to a clogged sink. Shane came out right away, ultimately had to give us the bad news that we needed to repipe!. He was very open with suggestions to save on cost. Our pipes had several holes and alot of buildup as well. Our house is over 40yrs old so I guess it was to be expected. His crew was very nice and communicated effectively. This was a 5 day job that didn't seem like it was that long. He answered all our calls and made us feel like no question or concern was crazy. Definitely will refer Ace Drain to anyone who needs a referral. read more

We had a major remodel project for our house and we are so happy we went with Shane at Ace Drain. We repiped to update water lines and replaced several fixtures /valves throughout the house . If you are looking for a honest, dedicated , knowledgeable and professional look no further. Shane and his team at Ace Drain is the business for you !!!! Thank you Shane for all your hard work! I have you on speed dial for any future work !!! read more

We had a irrigation leak in our front yard that two seperate leak detection companies could not locate (very frustrating). So I read a bunch of yelp reviews looking for a plumber that could use a camera and follow the drainage pipe from the street and locate where the water was entering. I chose Shane at Ace Drain & Rooter which was a great choose. Shane told me that using a camera was a 50/50 shot at finding the leak but I had nothing to lose since had been trenching and found nothing. Shane was punctual, professional and friendly, but best of all located the area of the leak within 1hr. I will be using Shane for all my plumbing needs going forward read more

We have owned/lived in this house since 1993... Ace Drain has been our "go-to" for decades and has never let us down. The past owner retired around 2021 and we thought, just like everything else, all good things must come to an end.., well, not true with Ace Drain here in Santa Clarita. Like the prior owner, the personal service with new group Shane and Ace Drain is still very much "old school".. on time, friendly, understanding, very conscious of the situation, has a plan, works fast and with an amazingly positive attitude in a (literally) sh!tty situation, all while in 105+ degree heat. That's just what happened. Timeline: Got home from 2 week vacation 2pm Thursday with a sewage back up into our brand new shower... friggin nasty.. Tried to clear the line myself but probably made it worse... then Called Ace at 3:30pm with our emergency Shane arrived by 4 With some hard work and his experience, he knew this was a tough clog and something wasn't normal.... But, with a lot of effort and working the snake thru the line, by 5:30 he was able to get thru... I just can't explain the relief when the clog started getting drainage flow.. thank you Shane! Once cleared Shane and crew ran a scope down the sewer line only to find the point were our galvanized sewer pipe meets up to the clay pipe upper lateral sewage line between our house had a shift break likely from the 1994 earthquake. It was about 75% connected with the break being on the top side of the pipe. So our home was getting sewage flow, but it hadn't been flowing smoothly for a long long time. Shane recommended we add the modern clean out at the point of the break to take care of two issues with one fix. And he could be back the next morning first thing. What a pro! Friday am Shane's Crew Arrived at 8:30am with parts for new modern clean out at the point of where the line breaking point was,, Very friendly guys and very hard work. New 4" bull nose clean out added for any future sewage line clogs & a total repair of the house drain/sewer connection to front yard lateral sewage line "drop" Done by 1pm Friday. We went from completely backed up sewage line and no modern clean out to a smooth home drainage/sewage operation and a new more proactive set up for future issues... all in less than 24 hours. Also very important to note here is the pricing by Shane & Ace Drain was incredibly fair, considering the job, the service and the timeline. Plumbing is so unglamorous for your home, especially the out flow. No one cares....... Until it doesn't work. Shane is the Man! He truly cares "how many people live in your house? We have to get you going".. that was great to hear. For our family and home, I wouldn't trust anyone with my drain and sewage line but Shane and his crew. Amazing crew and service. 10/10 stars 5 just isn't enough. THANK YOU! read more

We had a slow drain on our kitchen sink and called Ace Drain. Making an appointment was simple and Shane was super courteous. He arrived in the afternoon as promised with his busy schedule. Shane examined and diagnosed the issue, quickly resolved the situation, and was informative on how to prevent the problem in the future. He was very professional and the invoice was very fair! We won't hesitate to use Aces again or recommend to friends and family!! Thanks again Shane!! read more

Ace was amazing! Called, and got an appointment in under 24 hours. Shane was on time, very knowledgable and helpful. The drain was so clogged with tree roots that it hadn't drained in 10 years. Shane showed up, did an incredible job and left without me even knowing he did the job. And when I checked it, it solved 20 years of headaches, stress and problem solving. Outstandin work and price!! read more

Ace Drain (Shane) is THE BEST!! We've had him come out a couple times and each time he was on time, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about our situation. Shane also gave us some very helpful info on how to maintain our drains and keep them from clogging. He's personable and his cost for service is very reasonable. read more

These guys do the job right and they get it done fast! We recently opened a brick and motor business in Valencia. Shortly after opening, we discovered that our general contractor had done a poor job installing the commercial sink and drain pipes in our dishwashing area. There were leaks causing problems for us and the neighboring unit. We reached out to Ace Drain, hoping we could get on their schedule within 1 to 2 days like most plumbers. Valerie was extremely helpful and provided great customer service over the phone. She recognized the urgency of our problem and notified Shane of our situation. He finished up the job they were on, then rushed over to our shop within hours. Then they quickly assessed the issue, provided a quote, and fixed everything before the end of day. We were amazed and relieved! Shane and his team understand how important it is for a business to be able to keep their doors open and keep customers coming through. Needless to say, they are our go-to plumber for our business or home. Bookmark this page and save their number in your contact list because these are the only plumbers you'll ever need! read more

Highly recommend this company. Have used them twice and been very happy.shane came out both times. Super professional and clean.

Our sewer line kept clogging because the pipe was breaking. Shane and his crew did a great job over just three days, and we were only out of commission for just one of those days. They did a trench free pipe so our yard had just one hole while they did the work. read more

Shane came out to help us in an emergency situation. He did a great job and his price was very reasonable. Whenever I need plumbing work of any kind, I'm gonna call Shane. read more

I was referred to Robert by another plumber who was unsuccessful in clearing my blocked kitchen drain. Heads Up yes, I'm annoyed I was charged for that visit but I guess all in the game of making sure you call the right person for the job.. I had a grease blockage so bad in my residential unit that Robert advised he'd almost given up and would have had to refer me out for a commercial flush. It sounded way too pricey for my likings. Both guys spent about 3 hours trying to clear the grease.. But FINALLY Robert was able to break through. And at a reasonable price.. ergo why I will from now on go straight to Robert because I KNOW he can handle above normal situations and not tear holes in my pockets. read more

Omg! Shane is amazing! We had a disaster under our house and needed new sewer pipe installed. Shane came out first thing Monday morning and had it completed in 3 days. Carlos and Eduardo were so professional and nice. Cleaned up every night and went the extra mile. Thank you guys for being so awesome! Ace Drain Rocks!!! read more

Shane at Ace was incredible! I had a HUGE problem with my condo one week before it was going to be sold. Shane rearranged his schedule to help as soon as possible. Not only did he fix the problem, but he also cleaned up the mess that the stoppage created. I wish I could give him six stars! read more

Robert is honest and genuine. I can see why our neighborhood has used him for drainage issues.

Ace Drain is one of those gems you find once in a while. It is a small company, the wife runs the back office and the husband does the field work. All he does is snake drains. I have used him twice, both times with great results. He comes when he says he will and they charge a very reasonable per drain rate. A great value and great service. If you have a clogged or slow draining drain, look no further. read more

Now that Ace's beloved Robert has retired, our HOA was concerned that "the new guy - Shane" would maybe have problems. We are a large HOA with tons of plumbing and drain issues. Nope. This guy is personable, on time and knows his stuff! We are very pleased with Shane, although sad to lose Robert. read more

Robert Hicks of Ace Drain just came out. He checked a toilet drain as well as my daughters' double sink vanity. Nicest gentleman; courteous; respectful. He was done in less than 45 minutes & charged me a very reasonable fee!! He was very professional & polite. He was highly recommended by my Gen. Contractor; I checked out his reviews & they were all positive. As a single mother, I am very comfortable with the manner in which the transaction took place as well as the fee! I highly recommend Ace Drain. read more

Very reliable, very affordable and always has a smile on his face. Couldn't ask for better service!

We had a problem with our kitchen sink and I hate calling a plumber. I found out about Ace here on Yelp. He was the nicest guy. Grew up here in the valley. Clean, kind and reasonable!. I will definitley recomend him to my freinds and call him again if I have any trouble with my drains. read more

This is the second time I have used Ace to assist with the unclogging of my drains. This time it was the bathrooms. I tried to get other services to come , but they said they didn't come on weekends! Robert came immediately on a Saturday night and took care of my issues right away. He is very efficient! His wife took the call and was friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Robert for any drain issues. He also goes the extra mile to check all the drains, just to make sure there are no hidden issues. He has a great sense of humor and goes out of his way to do an excellent job. Thank you . read more

We had a backed up kitchen sink for about three days. I called another company when the backup happened and no one got back to me for three whole days. I got tired of the run around with the other company and I called Ace at 1pm. I talk to a very nice woman who told me that Robert would be here in a couple hours. When he got here he was super! He fixed the problem so quick and at a great price! Use these guys they are amazing! read more

Robert has been keeping my drains running smoothly for probably 25 years. He doesn't upcharge you, he'll tell you what can wait and what can't, and you don't have to take out a loan to pay for his services. I've recommended him to dozens of people, and they've all been very satisfied with his service, attitude, promptness, in general-everything. I dread what will happen when he retires. There's nobody else I trust. read more

Eh. Had a slow drain, called, made appointment. Robert did show up on time which is a big plus, but he didn't do much. He tried snaking the drain a couple times, but couldn't get the snake to make the turn in the sanitation-t (something which I successfully did later myself), then tried a hydraulic ram which didn't work. Then he gave up, I paid my $65, and he left. read more
