On top of being charged $82 to cash it she was soooooo rude. For $82 for a 15 minute exchange the LEAST SHE COULD BE WAS NICE AND HELPFUL. SHE WAS NOT. If I could give a 0 star I would. Literally the mafia has cheaper rates than ACE and probably nicer employees

This is my first 1/5 star review, and I cannot think of a more deserving place…read more I went in with 1 simple purpose: to purchase an NTTA Toll Tag. I called beforehand to ask how much it would be: $40 + a $2 fee. When I arrived there were no other customers, so the woman at the counter gave me the short application to fill out. It took less than a minute. But within that minute, another customer came in behind me with an extremely complicated request, and the worker then ignored me for the next 30 minutes while she helped him. He had lost his card while drunk at a party, needed a new one, and needed to pull out cash, etc. They had to call all kinds of Ace tech support, and he had to yell his information and story because the clerk's phone which the man was using was located on the inside of the ballistic (bulletproof) glass, but a large TV with continually streaming Ace ads was on the customer's side--and the clerk was unable to turn it off or turn the volume off. So he's yelling all of his passwords, pass codes, SS#, DOB--and his entire story of how he lost his card so that the tech support on the phone line on the other side of the glass can hear, and I'm thinking to myself..."oh my goodness, how unprofessional". I, or any one of the customers (now there were more waiting behind him) could now have stolen his identity. And of course it's not just once...several "support personnel" had to be called, so the story and the info was repeated several times. I could not believe that the clerk did not pause anywhere in that 30 minute ordeal to simply finish helping me--who had come in first, and simply needed to pay my $42 --so I could be on my way. She was on hold for plenty of time. Then the cherry on top: When I gave her my debit card, she advised me that the cost would be $46: $40 for the Toll Tag, $3 Ace fee, and a $3 convenience fee for paying with a credit card. Hmmm. I mentioned that I had just called before I came and was quoted $40 + $2, and she replied that the $2 fee is really $3 and there's an additional $3 fee for paying with debit or credit cards (mine was debit, Visa). It wasn't the money, but it was the principle that killed me. Just thinking of how they take money from so many poor people: a $3 fee here, 10% there, etc.--it makes me sick. And that they lied to me on the phone so that I would come in... I paid (because I definitely wasn't going to wait another half hour) at some other Ace Cash Express. A week later I checked my bank statements, and they not only charged the $43, plus the $3 fee, but they charged an extra $2 fee--for what, I'll never know. So $48 instead of $42. That's a 15% difference. I would never, ever, ever--no matter what--visit an Ace Cash store again in my life. Save yourself the time, dignity, and respect...and go somewhere else.

The woman behind the glass, JOSIE, was extremely rude and I wish I never came here. It's very possible this location is running a scam to get personal information. She gave no reason whatsoever as to why she "Couldn't cash the money orders".
