We have 5 appointment with Ace air from 4/3/2020 - 5/22/2020, they don't show up 2 times, I have no problem with that since it is unusual COVID-19 time now. The 1st time visit, my AC switch is off, the technician shows my new tenant to turn it on. The 2nd time visit was few day after, the AC still not working correctly, somehow it back to work when tech came......(They do not charge) The 3rd time fixes, they suggest us to replace the whole system which is 15 years old. I am very happy about all their explanation/service and thinking about it is time to replace the whole system until my tenant went Lowes getting a $30 cheapest thermostat to replace it. ALL THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. ACE only charges me total $150 for 2 times service fee as attached invoice. I am upset because their professional diagnosis...... read more

I'm writing this as I sit in my 87 degree house (98 outside) called and tech showed up. Went to attic and troubleshoot the unit in a matter of seconds. Said It was the capacitor ($6 item) changed it put for a charge of $135 plus $75 ($75 to just show up) Total $205 in 15 mins. Unit worked for about an hour or so then stop working. Called them out again. tech showed up and didnt even troubleshoot the unit this time, & from about 20 ft from the unit , told me it was the motor. Est another $600. Asked him if he can douvle check & he said it was the motor and if it wasnt that it could be the mother board. Shouldn't a tech be able to I.D. these issues and find out whats wrong exactly? I would suggest to passes on calling this buisness and calling someone else. Thank you read more

We bought a new system through them 5 years ago, couldn't find the receipt but it wasn't getting cold anymore so we called someone else to charge the refrigerant. I then found the receipt they told me because I had someone else service that they wouldn't honor the warranty and that the people we called could do it. She was rude as well. Our AC was acting up, with it one day not even turning on despite us setting the thermostat to 78 degrees. When we brought this up to ACE Air, they sent Robert to check out what was going on. He was able to identify what the problem was as well as inform us why it happened and suggestions on how it can be prevented or dealt with should it happen again in the future. He was able to answer any and all questions I asked while being very kind about everything. We had a new unit installed by Ace a few years back. It was around $10k for the install. It is a roof mount unit and required a new unit flange. Unit worked good but the roof leaked the first rain. Had a technician come out and he could not find the leak. The unit ended leaking enough that the drywall is now damaged in our master bathroom. read more

Our central air conditioning unit (of 25 years) failed on the first use of the summer, and Ace was able to examine the issue within two days of our call, and provided an electronic quote on the spot so we could review the details right away. Having received quotes from additional providers, Ace offered the right product selection and a quote that met our needs. In addition, we did not feel like they were offering to sell or install more product than we actually needed. Robert was very responsive to all our questions and follow-up communications. The installation occurred two working-days later--no long waits. The installation team was respectful of our home, used drop cloths, and despite some very tight corners, was able to get the furnace and the AC unit fitted and hooked up. The office staff was friendly, and payment was easy to make over the phone. Everyone was cheerful, accommodating, and worked really hard to get the unit installed before we hit the summer heat up. Completely unprofessional and unresponsive and really try to take $$$ out of you one way or another. I had them on yearly maintenance contact and they would change parts even when its not broken and/or needs a change. Twice they changed my capacitor (first changed and charged $110.00 ) then next winter another technician came and looked at it - this time I was not in house but my wife was. Talked to her, said unit will break if this is not changed and again changed the capacitor (charging another $110.00) Also, very unprofessional when you talk to their manager or office staff. It seems they just want to charge $$$ from you one way or another. read more

Our HVAC unit stopped working, and we called Ace Air to fix it. The repairman told us it needed one part to be replaced and the next day he returned to install it. Afterwards, the unit seemed to be working fine, but a problem arose hours later, and it was determined that the entire HVAC unit needed to be replaced. I called the company to request a refund for the repair to a unit that couldn't be fixed. To be honest, I expected them to explain why I wasn't entitled to a refund. I spoke to Jamie. She was very professional, understanding, and courteous. To my surprise, she promised that my debit card would be credited right away. So, even though Ace Air wasn't able to fix our HVAC (through no fault of their own), I appreciate their fairness in refunding my money. And, again, thanks to Jamie! read more

We recently moved to Merced, CA from Atlanta, GA and on the day of arrival it was 100 degrees and the air conditioner went out on us. The first night here was excruciating. Ace Air sent our Mr. Isaias the next day. He arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. He offered great service and fixed our air conditioner. I would not recommend this company based on a recent experience. We asked for an estimate for a new unit and duct work work. Apparently, the estimator who's name slips my mind, had been here once before. He informed my wife he would not be climbing in the attic again. I guess his recollection of our duct system was etched in his memory. He had a printed estimate that he handed to me saying something to the affect of whatever you want to do. He seemed cold. Didn't smile. He attitude was not welcoming. I wanted to hear what his plan would be compared to others that were presented. He had no plan. He asked nothing of our needs or concerns. He never discussed seer value. Tonage. Nothing about how Ace could make our system more efficient. I would not recommend this company. They are only out to make a sale. This year our air conditioner stopped working. After looking at some of reviews of different companies we decided to call Ace Air. That was the best choice we could have made. A new a/c unit was installed. From the beginning to the end of the installation we were treated very well. The office staff and all the technicians who came to our house were exceptional. They were friendly, professional and courteous. If we had any questions or concerns they were addressed immediately. We couldn't have asked for better service. I would recommend to anyone needing a new unit or any type of heating and cooling problems to call Ace Air. The part was not in stock locally. He ordered the part. The part was delivered and installed. Our heater was not working. I emailed Ace Air at 8am and a tech was able to come out same day. Was friendly and helpful only reason for 4 stars is price. Tech was there for 45 minutes replaced an ignitor switch (which online at most is $50 part) total bill $275. Way too high! I don't think I would use again just because of pricing. All other aspects very good customer service in the office and out in the field. read more

The only part of the HVAC business these guys are really good at is charging a lot of money. I called them to fix a common problem that is easily diagnosed and repaired. I told them that I already knew what the problem was (a damper motor) and my furnace was working fine. After several hundred dollars, they failed to fix the problem and the owner and manager failed to take any responsibility. I watched a Youtube video and fixed it myself in about 10 minutes. I called these guys when my upstairs was 80 degrees and it was 72 degrees downstairs. I have a 2 zone system and this is what happens when one of the damper motors goes out (a common problem). When the guys showed up, the first thing he opened was my furnace (which was working fine) and in less than 5 minutes told me I needed to upgrade a part that was working fine. I asked if he could check my damper motors because I was pretty sure this was the problem. He checked one of the 2 motors and since the other was a little more difficult to reach, insisted they were both fine. After a few days, it was clear that the problem remained and I called Ace Air. They took my number and told me they would call me back. They did not call me back. Over the next few weeks I called about 10 times and spoke to both the owner and manager. They told me they would get back to me and never did. I spent about 30minutes on the internet and watched a Youtube video of a homeowner replacing his own damper motor. I bought one myself for $70 and put it in- problem solved. I expect a qualified repair business to diagnose and repair the problem. I wasted several hundred dollars on these guys and they failed at a simple repair and then refused to reimburse me for a single dollar. read more

I can highly recommend Ace Air Conditioning! My AC was not doing the job and taking forever to cool down the house. I was worried that my system would need to be replaced. I called Ace and they sent Frank over the next day. He was on-time, friendly, and competent. He did a complete system check--inside and outside. He determined that my system was fine but the coils needed cleaning. He then went into the attic to check the duct work for leaks or other problems (it was over 100 degrees outside). He found a very loose connection that was blowing a lot of the cold air into the attic. He was able to perform all the checks, cleaning, and repairs in the one visit. Frank didn't try to sell me on a new system--he fixed what was wrong and I felt a good deal of trust in his assessment and his skills. Ace is the first company I've used for HVAC and I don't think I will need any other company. Reasonable prices, fast service, and competent technicians that won't sell you something you don't need! read more

I rarely go out of my way to write reviews. I had almost let the negatives of working with Ace Air go, until today when we had yet another horrible communication problem. Mind you, 3 months after I THOUGHT we were done with this company, as we paid for our unit over 3 months ago. While getting our new HVAC system installed we had many communication errors surrounding scheduling of when their techs were coming out to my house. People showed up when I wasn't expecting workers and other days I waited for hours expecting someone who never showed. A few of the issues were resolved and I understood the errors due to excessive heat, but we went days without AC when they thought we had it hooked up, and then more days without a properly working unit. Today was the last straw when an inspector from the city showed up, unscheduled on my side. When I called to figure out the confusion, I was told they were supposed to call me Friday to let me know, but that an emergency prevented that phone call. Today, they could have called first thing in the morning but they didn't. I would let this go and be understanding, except this was the same story I got time and time again back during installation. The techs were really great, apologetic for their offices lack of communication and nice and respectful in my home. However, this company needs to figure out how to communicate to their customers more efficiently, professionally and consistently. I would not recommend this company to anyone who has to take off work for scheduling with them or anyone who wants quick reliable appointments. They are very good at apologizing on a positive note. read more

Would not recommend. MY first problem is I called them because my grandsons name is "Ace" (stupid move I know lol) I initially called to request service for my AC unit. We bought our house in 2014 and I knew it needed cleaning, fluids etc (also living room not cooling down as bedrooms did). The girl who answered the phone was friendly she said they charged $60 to come look at the unit and check the fluids and filter. Obviously her definition of checking fluids and filter differed from mine as well as her $60 price. The tech showed up looked at the unit, crawled in the attic and reported to his office (he didn't even say a word to my daughter), "the unit is dirty, ducts need to be replaced we can do for $171 but that's just fluids and filter". A different girl from the office called and told me this! She also tried to tell me in a sarcastic way "my tech said the problem is that you have no insulation in the attic, we can send sales out for you?" To which I replied "did your tech tell you or even notice that we have old knob and tube electrical wiring which can't be easily insulated due to a fire hazard?" I'm sorry but I'm giving you my hard earned money have some courtesy. Will tell everyone to avoid Ace Air. read more
