This company was hired to inspect my AC system. As part of the inspection, they were supposed to clean out all the water from the hose and vents and replace the vents since they were moldy. Unfortunately, it appears the work was not completed. After the initial visit, they are unreachable for over a week despite numerous calls, messages, and emails. Communication was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, I'm still left with a hole in my ceiling, and debris and insulation continue to fall from it. This has been both frustrating and inconvenient. I expected much better service and follow-through. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

First off this company had great reviews so I expected great service. Sadly, that's not how it goes. After this company installed AC units and made some "upgrades", everything fell apart. I found that HUGE bubble walking back into my room. Then after the handyman came to inspect, they found it was due to the NEW pipe that was installed INCORRECTLY. It had leaked all over the ceiling level. Luckily the insulation had absorbed most of it. Specifically above my room is where it was hit bad causing MOLD, which I was not told until much later. What was supposed to be a 1 week construction project on their end, actually ended up being a FULL month. I was not able to sleep because of the dehumidifiers and insanely loud industrial fans. Let along should I have been sleeping in there anyway being that there was MOLD present. I ended up having to get my landlord to book me a hotel stay which got extended countless times due to miscommunication on their part. We have yet to get reimbursed months later now! After being told we would. We once again keep getting delays and extensions. It's a never ending pattern with them. I am not happy at all with the service of this company. read more

Five star service‼ a few years ago my mini split AC went out in my room. The company I used in the past said it was a three week wait for a new AC unit. I saw an ad for Central Valley Air and called Steve, not only did I save over $500 from the other company but my new unit also came with a heater, controls to turn on and off my unit when I'm out. What really set Central Valley apart was our main unit AC thermostat had some issues. I called Steve and he gave me some tips to try prior to him arriving. That being said he saved me money with his honesty. I wish I had known about Central Valley Air prior to purchasing our main home AC.. I had a continuous problem with an older unit blowing air, even when unit was off. The "other guys" couldn't figure it out so I contacted Central Valley and Art came out. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable, listened to my triage and had an idea of the problem. Art inspected the unit, tweaked it, and fixed it. This company is honest and has integrity. Reasonable pricing too. I was very satisfied with the service that Art and Isaias provided. They came within the time frame they specified and they kept me informed about what was happening every step of the way. Not only were they able to fix the problem with my AC, they also figured out the underlying issue that caused the AC to go out. If the issue had not been addressed it would have caused more serious trouble down the line. The technicians were thorough in diagnosing the issue. Steve did a decent job. I just wish he would have provided an estimate prior to doing the work. What was originally an $89 maintenance turned into $411 for freon as the a/c unit wasn't working properly and we learned this one day prior to Steve's visit. Have to say Steve was great, he came all the way from Atwater to do a service on my a\c unit for only $50 this is after calling around town and was quoted $89 and people trying to sale me a package just to get me on the top of the list and still would take a few days. He came out the same day I called him and checked over everything. He didn't try to sale me a upgrade. He found a bad capacitor on my condensor and repaired it for a reasonal price. Called them to come do a semi annual maintenance on our new hvac system. The guys were professional and polite entering our home. There was a problem with low Freon and the tech very patiently explained what was going on, was understanding that the company that installed it had more than a few issues and allowed me to take photos of the equipment proving the leak and time to try and get them to fix the problem. Eventually we decided to have Central Valley fix the problem and pay out of pocket instead of using the company that installed it. They came back quickly, troubleshot and found the issue and fixed it in record time. Again explaining what was going on the entire time. I had a problem with my ac coming on and dieing out randomly and wouldn't turn on anymore so I decided to call central valley air conditioning and Steve personally answered I told him about the problem and he came down that same evening did all kinds of test and told me what the price was going to be. I basically needed a whole new unit and control panel. He told me the price he would charge and it was less then half of what the bigger company was going to charge me. He hook me up with a new ac unit new, control panel and even a new thermostat all for less then half of all the other company that i was comparing prices to. We had heard a whining sound inside the outdoor Trane 900 air conditioner. 20 years old. As usual, I attempt to be the first responder. Well, I removed the top and struck something electrical and POP, a quick flame and no more power to the air conditioner. Thinking I've done enough damage, better call in a professional. First time we've used Central Valley Airconditioning, Steve. Called the number and he personally answered. Asked what had happened. Said he'd be out that same early evening between 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM (100 degree day) Steve arrived as promised, friendly greeting and off to solve the problem after my explanation*. I had taken the screen off, but Steve knew of another entrance right into the electrical area. First he shut off the power which I should have done. A tripped circuit breaker was reset. Steve made a number of diagnostic checks on the amps, Freon leaks, and more. He replace the singed wire and tapped up my outside lead ins. Steve was always willing and able to explain what he was doing. Very ethical. If an AC person had said we'd burned out a condenser, whatever, sure, we'd believe it. Steve said the unit was running fine. I had used a blower to blow inside the unit. Maybe something had fallen inside to cause the whine. Maybe it needs to be left on longer. Don't know at this time, it is working fine. No talk of replacing this unit for a new one, though I initiated what it may entail. Steve was here about 45 minutes. Minimal trip charge was all it cost. Lucky stars we had Steve here. Super knowledgeable about air conditioners, heaters too, I'm sure. Great service! My tenant called me at 6:30 pm in a very hot afternoon. I then called almost all air conditioner repairers in Merced. Fortunately Steve picked up my phone and went to check the problem. He tried very hard to save some money for me, and after he discovered that it is no longer worthwhile to repair, he found a new one with good trade off between price and quality.
