I was referred to this company by someone in the building trades. My guess is they worked together…read moreon commercial projects, as that seemed to be more the focus of Farrell. The owner responded quickly, gave a price that is within the reasonable range from what I read online, and scheduled the work quickly. The crew were great, moving furniture that would not fit through the interior doorway in my house to the yard, even taking the door off its hinges and putting it back again when they were done. They covered the walls and floor to keep everything clean and removed all their debris when they were done. Some of the work was subcontracted and both sets of workers were at my home for early morning appointments so I would not have to miss too much work. They were efficient and while I am no expert the work looks good quality. Several things made me think they are more geared to commercial work. They split the bill into two equal parts, each below $1000, the state threshold requiring a written contract, but the plastering crew was more than twice as large and here twice as long, so I think that was not the real split, and was done to cut down on paperwork since it is a small job they fit in around other work. I think someone who specializes in residential work would have given an estimate/contract via email rather than a price via text, given paperwork including a statement of warranty coverage, and would not have asked for payment in full before the work was done. (They got it after the fact.) At a time when skilled tradespeople are in high demand I appreciate them doing the job quickly and doing it well, even though some of the process was not what I expected or would prefer.

So I contacted them using Yelp messaging. I had a room that needed to be painted fast. Marcos replied right away. Within 10 minutes he quoted a very fair price and we agreed to work together. Then he did a beautiful job on my room. Really, I couldn't ask for better service. I very highly recommend this company.

Initially, I was impressed with Tony and the paint job (since a new coat of paint always looks…read morenice) but, after the project was fully paid and I began to experience issues, Tony's tune totally changed. During early conversations with Tony, he lead me to believe that he would be using high-quality Benjamin Moore paint to complete the job, as well as performing any prep work, including sanding and priming. However, it was only after the project was underway that I noticed Tony switched the paint to use cheap Valspar paint, which I specifically asked him not to use due to issues I have had with it in the past. I brought up my concerns to Tony and he assured me that the paint would work fine and that he would cover any issues that may arise due to using it. Also, crucial prep work was skipped during the painting process. The kitchen cabinets were not sanded or primed before painting over the existing, tacky, peeling paint. It has only been 2 months and, currently, the paint on my kitchen cabinets scratches right off, chips from normal use, and leaks color when wet. The cabinets have already had to be touched up by both Tony and myself. However, despite me bringing this to Tony's attention within the 6 month guarantee window he provided me, he was reluctant to do anything about it stating that I just need to stop worrying about it. I have now contacted (4) other professional painters to understand what went wrong to see if I could fix the issues myself and all (4) have told me that, because Tony used cheap wall paint that is not meant for cabinets and did not follow the professional process for doing the job correctly, my only option is to strip the cabinets completely and start over. I am now looking at having to pay a minimum $3,400 to correct Tony's work despite still being within his guarantee window. Tony's only proposed solutions are to either paint over the existing paint, which all (4) other professionals have stated will not fix the problem, or provide me with a $600 refund, leaving me to pay $2,800 out of pocket to fix the damages. His defense is that I never told him the original cabinets needed to be prepped or that he needed to use cabinet paint, which are both unrealistic expectations since he was supposed to be the professional with the expertise to know how to do the job properly.

He came unprepared with a rickety old pole digger, no wheelbarrow, pry bar or shovel. After a few attempts at digging the hole, he came to our door stating he was hitting rock. My husband gave him a better post hole digger, a pry bar, shovel and wheelbarrow. Then Rodrigo came back to the house two other times because he couldn't manage digging the hole. My husband had to show him how to work the hole to get the rocks out using the pry bar. The rocks were not even very big. When he finally finished digging two holes, they were in the wrong place for the size of the deck. Next day he brought to helpers who had to dig two more holes. They wasted cement filling one hole that wasn't in the right place. We bought the stock. In the end the fourth hole they dug was out of place sticking out the side of the deck that showed the most. I had to take time out of work to monitor them. My husband took a day off as well. I could not believe they actually brought a big plastic bag put the cement in it and water to mix the cement. We gave them a plastic tub to mix the cement. They talked excessively and could have had the job done a lot sooner if Rodrigo had not sat there and watched his two employees do all the building of the deck. At one point Rodrigo was sitting on his air compressor and rocking on it. Our land is sloped, he was on the top of the slope doing this and almost flipped over. His employee had to stop him. Rodrigo told me to "take it easy" when I questioned some of the things they were doing. In the end I asked for $200 off the price and Rodrigo got angry starting yelling "no way" and his employee ended up negotiating a discount of $100 for the way the sono tube was sticking out.
