I initially took the car to another shop, USA Auto, because of their flexible hours. Unfortunately, that visit resulted in a nearly three-figure diagnostic fee and an estimated $3,000+ repair bill. After doing a little research, I discovered this is a common issue with her car; caused by not properly securing the gas cap after refueling. To confirm, I purchased an OBD2 scanner from Amazon, took photos of the codes, reset the lights, and took the readout to Leavitt's Auto Care. At Leavitt's, they confirmed no immediate repairs were needed. While there will eventually be work required on the catalytic converter due to normal wear and tear, the current issue wasn't urgent. Best of all, they didn't charge me anything for the inspection! This honesty and professionalism are exactly why we keep coming back to Leavitt's Auto Care. The new owner quoted my Mom's car for around $3000 with upholstery for leather seat, and easy fix paint job for Mercedes ML350. Those were paid with insurance prices. We were going to pay cash only. He stated the amount would still be the same. We had worst damages from before, and the most we paid was around $400-$600 for bodywork. The 2 small paint chips was fix with Mercedes touch up paint. and the scratches were removed with turtle wax. It took about an hr for my friend who is a mechanic to fix it for $50 Labor. 3 stars because I know they do great work. I'd still recommend this shop if you use insurance to pay for your damages. After a cross country move from NYS TO NV, my tail pipe had rusted and cracked and needed replacing. I trusted the repair with sun auto service because of a stellar Yelp reputation. Mistake. I won't divulge on those details (on this page at least). Long story short, my pipe just fell off in a parking lot a couple nights ago and I was forced to drive around without a muffler. I stumbled into car life auto service on a whim, hoping they would stick it back on there at a minimal cost. Thomas, the owner of the shop, immediately got my car up on the risers. No "come back in 3 hours" or "let me take it in the back..." Aka break more stuff to make you pay. His crew got started on it right away and made sure it was firmly secured, high enough to not drag, etc. I also received a much needed oil change for the bargain cost of 19.95! Thomas engaged in conversation with me and my boyfriend the entire time of repair, which made the hour in the Vegas heat feel like nothing! He displayed a great sense of humor, pride in his business and great passion for his family, interests,and military background. I would vote 0 stars if possible…read more Took car in on Wednesday, found out the steering gear was bad. Work started on Thursday, was told car would be ready on Friday. Friday became Saturday, which became Monday, and it was finally late Tuesday afternoon that I finally got my car. The whole time, the reason why the fix date got moved up kept changing. Don't know about you, but the first sign to me that someone is lying is the story keeps changing. I highly suspect they did damage that they tried to cover up considering they did such shoddy work, I'm looking at more money to fix the car properly. DO NOT take your car to them if you value it. It'll come out worse than it went in.
