I became a client this year, specifically because they offer tax and wealth management under one…read moreroof -- I was having a complicated tax year and was also considering moving my investment accounts to a smaller local firm. In July my employer was acquired, which created a one-time equity event -- a large block of W-2 income plus a capital gain -- and a genuinely time-sensitive tax question. I sent a one-page summary with my own figures and six specific questions: confirm my analysis, check whether I'd owed AMT on some prior ISO exercises (I asked him to pull my IRS and FTB transcripts), and tell me whether I needed to make a Q3 estimated payment before the September 15 deadline. It took 17 days and a follow-up email from me to get any reply. When it came, none of the six questions were answered. What I got was a rough estimate he explicitly told me not to rely on -- "by no means should you use these for any official calculations" -- plus a note that his system couldn't calculate two of the taxes that applied to my return. The same email told me the firm would no longer be servicing my account. - Basically they fired me HA! I understand this was outside his wheelhouse. He said as much. But that's a conversation to have on day one, not after two and a half weeks of silence on a deadline-driven question. Being dropped as a client in the same message that answered nothing is what moved this from disappointing to worth writing about. I never did move my investments over. This experience made that decision for me -- which is worth mentioning, because the combined tax-and-wealth offering is what brought me in. If you're considering them for both, I'd want to see how they handle a complicated tax year before you hand over anything else. If I can't trust you for the little stuff, how can I trust you with the big stuff. One star instead of Zero (If I could) because he did eventually respond and offered a referral.- Thanks but NO THANKS!

Since most just skim the preview, I have to start by saying Willie is THE man. Seriously, Jake has…read morenothing on this guy. Are you shopping insurance for anything? Call and ask for Willie. You'll understand. My first experience with State Farm and Willie was shopping for rental insurance. I'd never had insurance for anything aside from vehicles and work benefits, so it was a little overwhelming. What coverage do I need, what does the coverage actually entail, and what's a good deal for the right kind of coverage? Well, I had no idea. I lucked out being helped by Willie, who had all the answers I needed. Not only did he have answers, but he had patience. Every detail about the policy lead to more questions, and Willie answered them all happily. I was beyond please with my initial experience, but still, as many of us do, I still wanted to shop around and see what else was out there. I thanked Willie for his time and help, and he thanked me for the opportunity and asked if he could follow up with me. Of course! I appreciated that kind of service. Well, he didn't have to follow up. Two calls to competing agencies and all they did was make State Farm and Willie look better and better. One company was a little cheaper, but the agent was no where near as knowledgeable or helpful. I'd happily pay more for better service, and that is exactly what I was getting. Willie won my business and I felt great about it. I was excited about purchasing insurance - think about that for a minute. Two years later, and State Farm has insured my home, my belongings, even my wedding! Recently I reached out to Willie by email after having not spoken in awhile. I was hoping to get a response by the next day, but instead I got one within 20 minutes. I don't "shop" for insurance any more. Could I find a cheaper policy from a company I've never heard of? It's possible. But when it comes to protecting my home and the things I care about, I don't want cheap - I want someone I can trust. For me, that's Willie and State Farm.

Contacted this office late March, spoke to the owner Sally. I explained to her that I had used her service and she seemed to remember me. She told me how busy the office was, which I replied that I was well aware of how late I was contacting the office. We agreed on my dropping off my paperwork. I know she has a drop box. She said that would be fine. I dropped the paperwork off on a Saturday morning, the office was closed during a time they were supposed to be open. I called the office at least 5 times, at different times to make sure someone had received my paperwork. I was told by her staff person Sandra, when I was finally able to speak with a live person that she did not know if Sally had the paper work or not? So I asked that Sally please return my call. A week later NO CALL back. I called again, Sally answered the phone with attitude, big attitude, upset with me for calling so much. I explained to her that I was simply calling to find out if anyone had my paperwork? She was rude, and not professional. It is not my fault as a customer that she says yes to everyone and stresses herself to make the April 15 tax deadline! Will never use this service again. Not to mention I was charged even more money than last year simply because she is bothered with me. Never again!
