I have been doing my taxes with JB services for many years now including now that I live out of state. I have always found the prices to be more than fair and also feel their work is excellent. I once made the mistake of going to HR block and they charged me 3 times the amount. Many years ago you used to be able to get a loan for your refund and the bank charged you a % of your return, I think that is what the other person is talking about. I have shopped around and their prices cannot be beat. During tax time, I know it's busy so plan accordingly. I have been using their mobile app to send them my documents and it's so easy! it takes a few days for everything to be done. will continue to return and cannot recommend enough! read more

Was referred to Marian, and thought the initial experience to be good. However, fast forward a few months to getting a you owe letter from the IRS. Turns out that while I told her about an amount that was owed, she never added it. On top of that when I called to ask about it, and why they never called to tell me they refiled, she said I'm sure we did. There was never a call. Ever. It was only a couple hundred, and thankfully I wasn't charged too much in interest, but the level of unprofessionalism was absolutely uncalled for. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, which I'm sure was caused by the abundance of work during tax time, she wanted to get rude on the phone suggesting that they probably just couldn't reach me. My husband and I had our 2015 taxes done here. He works out of state, in multiple states per year, so we had to file state taxes with Pennsylvania and Ohio. Both of the state tax returns got audited, so my husband just re-did both of them himself. Now, I just received in the mail a week ago a letter from California stating that we failed to file CA state taxes. Seriously!? We paid this company to do our taxes and we've had to go back and re-do them ourselves. So what did we pay them for then!? This company is terrible and will never be going back. read more

I've used this company the past three years and seemingly do all the work. I am sent a worksheet to fill out where I have to figure out all the totals and categories and then am charged $175 to have my totals Be plugged in five minutes. This most recent year I had an appointment for 4 PM and was left waiting for an hour without any info as to what was going on until I finally got fed up with it and took my paperwork back and left without having my taxes done. read more

I went here the last 3 yrs, and was unhappy last year so I tried another place and she went over last year and found a few errors. My new tax person redid just the first one they did, 2009, and we're geting back another $3300. Don't use them, they're nice, but they really know what they're doing. Now I have to pay to have someone redo their work. read more

JB is awesome..... Marian really knows her stuff, she asked the right questions to get me the maximum refund possible. I am just a hard working construction guy, an "average Joe" so to speek and Marian treated me so nice and professional. She took the time to make sure I was getting all the money back that I deserved...... I have been going to JB Tax Services for close to 10 years. They have made errors on my taxes on more than one occasion; however, they had been able to correct the errors after I had contacted them when I received letters from the IRS. For the most recent error, I tried to call in to get assistance with understanding the multiples letters I was receiving from the IRS. I had originally brought these documents in for review and was given documents to send in and was told this would solve the problem. I received yet another letter form the IRS stating the documents referenced the wrong tax year, thus I still owed funds. When I called in and spoke to Marian, I was having a hard time explaining myself because she kept interrupting me. She began to argue with me and said I wasn't explaining myself correctly and that it was my fault for forgetting to turn in documents. I could hardly get a word in to explain and asked her to stop being argumentative with me, as I was the customer and just trying to explain what the letter was stating. I finally told her I was extremely disappointed and would not do my taxes there again. She said that was fine and hung up on me. I am beyond disappointed, especially since I've given them my business for such a long time. Hard to believe any business would treat a long standing customer in this manner. read more

Aside from an error in my taxes last year, they charge based on how much you get from your tax return. The more you get or your tax return the more cash they bring to themselves.I thought I was paying them for the act of filling my taxes, not to profit from the amount of money I worked hard to make. Never going again, they are nice but make errors and charge ridiculous prices. read more
