Barton Court is a really lovely place to stay!…read more I stayed for a couple of nights for a hen party, so we booked one of the cottages, and made the most of the spa facilities, kitchen and gardens! Why I liked it: - The beds are comfy and slightly squished in (but at least that means you can get more friends involved!) - The kitchen is large and has all the cooking paraphernalia we needed. - There is a nice lawn (we used it to play boules/ pétanque...) - There is a washer, a drier and clothes racks (I guess this would be useful for longer holidays!) - The spa facilities are clean and pleasant - we spent time in the pool, sauna and hot tub. - We had facials/pedicures included in the price of booking to rooms. A couple of girls spent extra to have massages - they were lovely. - The owners have some happy, friendly dogs. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere...but it doesn't take long to drive to the beach and for us it was the perfect venue.

Penrice Castle Cottages is a collection of holiday home rentals in Gower, Swansea, South Wales. My…read morehousemate and I were down there just a few weeks ago for a wedding at a nearby hotel and decided to rent a local cottage rather than stay at a hotel. We rented Martha's Cottage on the Penrice Estate. It was absolutely lovely- picture attached of the outside but the inside was quirky with a lovely country feel. It was cosy and warm and we loved the quietness of this place (it is set back from the road). However, what was best about our trip is that if you rent one of the Castle Cottages, you get access to walk through the incredible Penrice Estate- complete with derelict castle, acres and acres of beautiful scenery, and a very impressive listed building worthy of Pride and Prejudice. It is completely gorgeous, and you can look down on the sea too. Nearby is Oxwich, where you can walk to from Penrice, down through the estate and then down over the dunes to the beach. Just stunning. We had a very easy booking experience with Penrice Castle Cottages, they offered us a weekend rate rather than a full week's rental. They were also very helpful afterwards when I found I had accidentally left something at the cottage afterwards. I would highly recommend- this area is just outstanding in terms of landscape, and the cottage (complete with log fire) was just up my street. I'd like to come back sometime to this magical place.
Martha's Cottage, where we stayed. There are, however, a ton of other cottages on offer with varying sizes- see their website.
Log fire. Can't ask for better than that! Just make sure you know how to get it started before you get there... no wifi.
Splashland is an indoor swimming pool situated inside the Trecco Bay holiday park…read more This is a fun pool, with most of the features mainly suiting children and families. It is very busy during the school holidays and summer. The pool operates on a timed slot basis, and you are given a coloured band which indicates the start and end time of your session. The pool has a decent waterslide, a children's pirate ship play area and a separate toddlers area. There is a jacuzzi type bubble area where you can sit/lie which is joined to the main pool. There are two swimming lanes - sometimes roped off and sometimes not - which are fine for some relaxing swimming - but due to the size and temparature (Very warm) of the pool they are not really suited to serious swimmers. You can sit and watch the swimmers in a seated area, and there is a good size changing village, including family size changing rooms. There are aqua aerobic classes available during the week.

Great water slide and fun pool that includes a toddler end including slides, a pirate ship area for babies and toddlers, set seperate from the main pool. I thought the employees at Porth Holiday Park were rude, but the ones here are Ruda! They are much…read moreRuda! They even named the place after how much Ruda they are! I adore Ruda... I holidayed here in the 1980s when I wasn't even in school yet, and then again a few years later when I was in school, and then as an adult, I drove back down here several times, enjoyed Croyde Beach, and even slept over here once or twice. They have a cool "flume" which is a waterslide, sticking out of their little mini swimming pool building. It looks like nothing now, but when I was a kid, it was absolutely thrilling. I have very embarrassing nude photos of me hanging out on the beach here. I was last here last year, and it's as lovely as ever. There were girls doing Yoga on the beach, it was windy and raining (it's England, it always is!), and it just felt like home. My Dad doesn't even have the BMW that he drove me and Mum down here in, on the little hedge-lined B-roads of Devon... they're not even married anymore, in fact they broke up just years after the first vacation here and neither one have ever returned, although I have. The best part is that you can walk from the accommodation directly onto the beach. What could be better. And this is review #1988 because that was probably one of the years I came here as a tiny lad, even though I may not have been born yet then. I was going to recreate the nude photo now that I am an adult, but I feel like with a fully grown man, it would be a lot Ruda.

We had a surprise 50th Birthday Bash - In a Hotel around the bay. And stayed here. The Swimming pool is great. And the evening entertainment was good too. Its only over the road from Croyde Beach which is a magnet for surfers. And there are plenty of surfing schools to help you take on those superb waves. We had an 8th birth caravan and was very comfortable. Even the double bed (come sofa). We have a lot of fond memories of Ruda. In the 10 years we have been visiting this place. It still holds great memories for me and my family. Ruda caters for all sorts of holiday's. I.e. Caravans of all sizes, camping. And there are some lovelly cottages right on the beach front, with its own private pool and Jacuzzi. These are a bit pricy, and you have to book well in advance. But really good if you want to treat yourself one year. There is a good walk to Baggy Point too, and you can see Woolacombe from around the bay. Also recommend a couple of pubs near by - Billy Buds is a great surfers pub for all the family - Great play area for the kids.
Rat coming from caravan floor.
Response from general manager excusing rats due to an influx in people.
