First off let me start off by saying I had only been living in one of their properties on 1500 McDonald since April 2015 - so 3 months. The process of getting a place is fine; everyone, especially Jessica was totally helpful as I was moving from out of state and it would be a site unseen.
The problems I have with Access Management arose only within a week after moving in. Temperatures in the home would drop below 50 degrees and the downstairs heaters weren't working. I submitted 3 work orders and made many complaints about this but it took them until 3 months later (the beginning of summer) to repair this (oddly in the middle of a heat wave). I've also complained about a leaking dishwasher and sink that would flood the kitchen and it took them over a month to repair.
Within the first month I noticed that there were many roaming dogs unattended on the property, seemingly owned by different units. This is against Missoula Law stating that dogs can be off leash if accompanied by an owner AND on a designated hiking trail. Their handyman even had his dog on the property, loose, and it ran INTO my home and peed all over my herbs sitting at my front door! When I told Access Management about this they had no idea about the laws and after repeatedly telling them that dogs were running after my dog (who was on leash) and causing me to be pulled around and breakup fights because 4 different owners were not being held responsible, they finally put out a memo. However, this was too late and I put in my 30 day notice, breaking my lease for safety reasons. Either way, the response I got was, it's better for me to move because they couldn't hold EVERYONE to the leash rules! CRAZY!
There was also no weather stripping on the front and back doors so you can see straight outside through the crack and wind blows in. The worst part is they have been doing construction on the townhouse (never warned us about this and I work nights which prevented me from sleeping) and their pressure washers soaked the carpet and cabinets on the other side of the front and kitchen doors and they made me shampoo the carpets - after only living there for 2 1/2 months! When I complained about the noise they said no one else had a problem (I'm assuming no one else in the neighborhood works nights) and they said they only needed to give 24 hour notice if ENTERING the unit - which is not true. Any construction that poses a noise complaint or disturbance needs to be made clear to tenants and these guys were so loud and blasting music, for 2 days we had to tell them to be quiet because they're so obnoxious. They also charged me for "utilities" for $15 after moving out when all of the utilities were in my name!
I would never use them to rent out my properties or recommend them to anyone I work with or know because of how horrible their communication is and how inept they are at managing such a huge complex of apartments. If you're stuck and want a cheap place to rent, you're getting what you pay for! read more
