Service is warm, intelligent, and deeply informed. Plant selection for quality native plants is very good. Their plants are a little pricey --(perhaps 10-15% more than Home Depot for example) but they stand behind their plants/products. Any plants or products that don't work out, just bring your receipt and they will give you a store credit or credit your card. Much of the value Harmony offers is in the quality of the products, the plants, and the intelligent service. Seriously, there is nowhere else I could go to find out how to dig up a fern from acidic soil, and properly care for it while it overwinters before planting it under a nearby redwood tree in the Spring! Harmony Farms also carries extraordinarily unique products, such as Stella Natura's biodynamic planting guide and a wide variety of seasonal, organic specialty plants as well as hard-to-find organic soil amendments. Parking is abundant. They're located just off of the Hwy 101/Penngrove exit heading east. A large sign that says "Barn" offers a fairly quick turn on your R into a wide gravel driveway. Enjoy!

Another reason I really like harmony is they have a lot of unusual varieties that you could only get if you sent for the seed and started them yourself. They have lots of seeds pots and gardening utensils and supplies.

I've ordered from Petaluma Floral multiple times over the course of about a year now for special occasions, and these have been consistently some of the best arrangements I've ordered in my life. Each one has been a little different, but still maintain the same general look/feel per my preferences. I may have been a little lucky, but the bouquets always seem to last longer in the vase than some of the flowers I get from grocery stores too. I've only ordered online, but as another reviewer mentions, I get the sense that this floral arrangement company caters to making arrangements for specific types of events. That is, when you order an arrangement on their website, you can input your preferences and the general look and feel you'd like out of your arrangement and they'll design the arrangement to spec. You can preorder in advance of the date you'd like them to deliver. They have mostly been on-time with their deliveries (you can specify if you have a preferred time frame of delivery on a specific day), but have been communicative with me if the flowers need to be delivered in a different time frame (e.g., when they're really busy trying to get out an order for a large event like a wedding). Note that their website specifies that they only deliver in Petaluma. Overall, I would highly recommend Petaluma Floral.

Yes, it'd be a mouthful, and it's probably unnecessary in that they already sport a highly descriptive, apt moniker. Anyhow, this place is just wonderful. I'd even call it aspirational. As I wandered the open-air back of the shop, I suddenly had a revelation for what to do with my personal backyard space. Pebbles and wooden runners made a perfect landscape in which to showcase the plants while creating a through-line through a space. Between the fountains, bird feeders, trees, roses, florals, and garden tchotchkes it was both aspirational and inspirational. I left with a Coleus, 2 packs of Botanical Interests seeds to grow both Gourmet Baby Greens and Upland Cress Microgreens, a contraption to cover fruit and vegetable plants in my existing garden (to keep birds and insects from enjoying things before me), and two tubes of Sister Bees Lip Balm at 50% off. E D Wilson is a perfect place to know about if you need to get someone a gift and doing so would demonstrate your creativity, your thoughtfulness, your cool factor, and your commitment to sustaining small businesses. I wish this store were in my neighborhood.

Being polite as a shop owner is crucial to the survival of your store…read more I remember when this store opened a few years back. At the time, I was extremely excited to have a local garden center that supplied David Austin English roses. On my first visit the owner, Eugene, was friendly and helped me select some border plants for my garden. On my second visit I asked for a recommendation of an organic black spot and fungal treatment for my roses. He brought me to a small shed at the far edge of the property where he gave me a bottle of a BioAdvanced Rose & Flower care... for $35.00. I trusted he knew the best product per my ask, and at the time I was in the early stages of learning about organic gardening. Little did I know that the same product could be purchased online for $20.00. This in addition to the markup he has on David Austin roses made me rethink my appreciation of the local garden shop. His prices for David Austin roses are $45.00, when you can purchase direct from DA for $35. These two strikes kept me away for a while, until today. Walking home from the American Graffiti car show I stopped in to see what was new. I entered the store front, which was empty of staff and walked towards the outdoor garden area. I am in the market for large planters for my, ahem, David Austin roses - I have 35 in my collection. There were a few planters I liked on display so I took some photos to show my husband when I got home. As I was exiting, the owner came out back and passed me. I said hello, he replied 'no photos, please. It is a retail shop so no photos allowed." I replied, oh I must have missed the sign. There was no sign and this is not a museum. I attached the photos of the beautiful planters and garden bench I was interested in purchasing. I needed 5. I'll take my $2,000+ elsewhere. Don't worry, Eugene you will never see me in your shop again and I will make sure all of my garden friends and rose enthusiasts know what type of service you provide to locals.

I wanted to install privacy trees in my yard and some accent brush. They provided a thorough proposal and some different evergreen privacy tree recommendations within a couple days turnaround, and then completed the entire job the following Friday (10 days from initial outreach)! Throughout the process they were extremely communicative and proactive. During the day of install, they removed all existing weeds complimentarily, and helped install a new irrigation valve at discount after we determined we couldn't access my existing HOA one. Their prices were incredibly reasonable, and I was so impressed with the results. My sister has already reached out to them to request the same work at her house after hearing my experience :)

Drainage was our biggest concern as there's a slope going to the house. Addressing the engineering - not just aesthetics - gave us comfort that this company knows what they're doing. Quote- found them on Yelp, read the reviews, asked for a quote through Yelp projects. They offered next day coordination to view the project. Steven was pleasant and professional. Understood our drainage concerns. The emailed quote came the following day, and it had every detail requested. This punctuality and attention to detail already says a lot to me so we hired them. The job- Started on schedule and the team went above and beyond! We requested the excavated soil to be set aside so we could use it on another part of our property - they so kindly placed the soil in the areas we needed. We saw the engineering of the small gradation for water drainage. The channel drain and French drain were installed for longevity. The 1000+ sqft of pavers were meticulously arranged by hand to include border pavers. Timeframe- this massive job was scheduled for 5 days but extended into 10 days due to the manufacture shorting the border paver count. Clean up- the team did well to smooth out the rest of the excavated soil, gave us as much left over rock and pavers as we wanted and even relocated it to our convenience. Lastly, they swept the patio for immediate use and took any remaining debris. We very much appreciated Steven and the Novara crew for the long days and great work! We love that this a local family business doing great work. The patio looks great and it has us excited to extend our living space!
