While I can't speak to the facility itself, I can encourage those in the Fairfax area to go see…read moreJason Eure! Here's why: - Variety of exercises: I admit that I'm not always the best patient. Part of the reason why I go to PT is the accountability aspect. I know I'm going to have to tell them if I've been keeping up with my exercises. I mean, they can tell anyways. Points for honesty? *nervous laugh* However, I liked that Jason mixed up the exercises often so I wouldn't get bored. I think a lot of patients are given the same exercises and think, "Why do I pay you when I can just do these at home?" and just stop going to PT. While it is important to establish a baseline to see how you are progressing, it's also important (to me) for therapists to continuously challenge me. He also made sure that I was able to do more dynamic exercises vs just controlled exercises before giving me the green light to play soccer again. Due to work conflicts or scheduling, I'd sometimes have to come in two days in a row. Jason was always mindful of this and would work on one area the first day and a different body part the following day. Also re: not being the best patient - he's realistic about your home program and how often you'll actually do the exercises. - One-on-one time and knowledge: Although this might differ from each location, I felt that I was able to have enough face time with Jason to explain what was going on and how I progressed (or didn't progress) since my last visit. I hate being rushed or feeling like I need to bring in a list of my questions just so I remember during my two minute interaction with a doctor. Jason always had the time to answer questions and talk about a strategy for the upcoming weekend, which is when I would have my soccer games. His explanations were clear and easy enough to understand, but never in a condescending way. And believe me, I always had questions. He never seemed annoyed. - Overall personality and interpersonal skills: We actually had a discussion about how doctors don't take classes on interpersonal skills and handling different types of patients. I was going to PT 1-2x/week a few months so I'd rather not see a monotone robot on a weekly basis. He's personable, super easy to work with, and is a pretty funny guy, too. He always had great awareness about when to push me and when to back off. My only complaint is that he did not consult me before switching to a new location. Just kidding (but I'm still sad about it). But ending on a good note: I did overhear this older, Asian lady saying he has "magic hands". And trust me, being Asian, I can say this as a fact - there was no sexual innuendo in the comment. Also, older, Asian ladies have high standards and expectations, and have no problem saying what they think. So, let "magic hands" fix your broken body!

She had gone to the clinic for PT for about nine months but stopped because of the PT's rudeness. My daughter notes that the people at the front desk were beyond helpful and kind. Specifically, Anna gave us her email when my daughter hinted that she was upset about a different situation, and she seemed to genuinely care about the issue. David was also nice when we talked to him. Unfortunately, there were multiple occasions where my daughter felt sick and terrible during the sessions, and had to leave. When she would tell her PT, the PT would make my daughter feel bad and guilt trip and pressure her into staying longer. Recently, my daughter got sick and couldn't go to PT for about a month. After a month, she felt well enough to attend about 30 minutes. After the initial 30 minutes with the PT, my daughter told them she wasn't feeling well and would go home after one more exercise (that she planned and chose to do). They told her, "Okay, well just plan to stay longer next time." My daughter was extremely confused and just dumbfounded. She assumed the PT misunderstood and told the PT that she still wasn't feeling well from her recent sickness and had planned to only stay for 30 minutes. The PT double downed and told her to plan to stay for longer. At that point, my daughter was so angry she didn't want to talk to the PT anymore. She did the last exercise and left. Because they were not receptive to her feelings and symptoms, my daughter decided to stop going to the clinic, but we wanted to report it to their admin team. She sent in a contact request to the Jackson Clinics company admin team, but they never emailed or called us. A few days later, I cancelled all of her upcoming appointments at the clinic and the clinic director asked me why. I briefly explained, but my daughter called him back and told him more. At first, he seemed understanding, but near the end he seemed to be making excuses for the PT. He said he talked to her about it, and he didn't mention if she was even sorry or wanted to explain it herself. We later learned that Jackson can only bill you for the time that the patient is there. We assume they put pressure on their employees to make clients stay. While we understand that this is not the employees' fault, we expected more courtesy from them, explaining that they had to say it. Jackson most likely puts pressure on their employees so they get more money, but because of this forced pressure, we are not willing to continue service, and they lose more than they would have. We also recently learned that they sent an end of service note to my daughter's PCP. We know this is normal and expected. However, the PT lied on it. She said that she had explained to my daughter during the last appointment about their 90 minute model. She did not. She also said "patient was noncompliant with at home exercises." While this is partially true, as my daughter has multiple unreliable and unpredictable health conditions, the PT did not put in a lot of effort to help. We hope this review will give potential clients some insight and our goal is that they won't make others as upset as my daughter was, and still is.

First, walking into the office the receptionist was very friendly and helpful with filling out the additional paperwork they need that is not on their website. After completing that I waited a few minutes then Dr. Johnson took me back to an exam room where she asked me some additional questions about my initial accident and the issues I have had since then along with any information from my ortho that would be beneficial for treatment. From there she brought me out into the therapy room and did a few test for range of motion, did a nice shoulder massage, some exercises, then ice before concluding our appointment. She also gave me a print out of the exercises for me to do at home until my next appointment. Walking into my first PT appointment i was a little nervous seeing everyone out doing their treatments together since i tend to be a little on the shy side and have social anxiety however, Dr. Johnson kept talking to me and all the other PT's are talking with each other so it is easy to join in the conversation especially with the other patients whom were all friendly as well. This will be my home twice a week for the next 3 to 6 weeks depending if I need surgery or not then maybe a little while longer. I highly recommend not only Dr. Johnson but the other PT's at the Fairfax location as well. I did not see one with a bad attitude or seem like they are just there to collect a paycheck. Not only do they provide top-notch care, but they also make sure that all of my needs are met and my worries at ease.. and trust me I've shown my true colors and I've asked endless questions and had countless of worries over this one month as I'm recovering from knee surgery. They. are. the. best. Let's face it, Physical Therapy can be tough and challenging, but their team and staff are simply the best in the business. What sets them apart is of course their extent of knowledge, their friendly team, but also their ability to connect with you on a personal level. I feel seen, heard, respected and genuinely cared for each day I leave here. They know what they're doing and they do it beyond well. As an athlete, I had countless worries about returning to my sport in the future, but they have been there every step of the way, addressing each concern with their extensive knowledge and warm personalities. With many more months to go until the end of my recovery journey and hopefully returning to my beloved sport, I am grateful to have found a place where I am treated like a human being, not just another client. This level of personalized care is a serious quality that sets Excel Rehabilitation apart from other businesses. Their impeccable knowledge and expertise in the field are evident. Their facility is clean and welcoming. Their service is well above 5 stars. I have complete confidence that they will continue to support me every step of the way, and I can't wait to see the progress we make together. She is methodically scientific - bordering forensic -- in her attention to detail. She's passionate and fluent in her life's work in orthopedic medicine. She also has a bubbly bedside manner that helped me feel comfortable and calm immediately. Her thorough approach means she will err on the side of caution when prescribing exercises and routines. This can seem slow at times, but she balances that deep long-term care approach with practices like dry needle therapy and deep tissue massage which will immediately alleviate pain and muscle tightness in a short/medium term capacity. Frankly, I was heartbroken when recently my long-term physical therapist (Dr. Virginia Dula of Move Better LLC), also a military wife and mom, packed up and left for a deployment last month. Those of us on the long-term injury management track know just how difficult it can be to find a physical therapist who's got it all... But after meeting Dr. A I can't help but feel like I've got a guardian angel out there after all. Even with Dr. Dula's incredible help, I had begun to accept that the more stubborn parts of my injury would cause my body to be permanently limited because they never healed or fully functioned again no matter how long we treated them. After all, I've been regularly doing PT for 5 years now. In just 4 sessions, Dr. A was able to get into those muscles in my spine and make them move and feel when I've had no feeling and movement there for years. For this reason I highly respect her methodical and slow approach because it's clear to me that we are going to make even more permanent progress than I have ever had before.
