I went to see if Molar 18 could be saved by a Root Canal but after taking the CBCT Scan ($200 out…read moreof pocket) and another bitewing PA X-Ray, Dr. Elizabeth Choybowski informed me that the tooth would not be a good candidate for a root canal. She began talking about TMJ which I have never had and made strong suggestions to see a specific TMJ specialist across the street. Actually, Dr. Chybowski should have suggested seeing an ENT (ears, noser and throat doctor) where they could make an accurate diagnosis and do the necessary accurate diagnostic tests and so forth. Also, TMJ is not covered by Medicare and most private employer sponsored health insurance. I appreciated the fact Dr. Chybowski was honest in telling me that my tooth would be better off being extracted which they do not handle. But I did want to speak with Dr. Choyboyski a bit further and she seemed very hurried and left. So I made my own appointment with an Oral Surgeon at Great Midwest Oral Surgery. I asked WI Endodontics-Mayfair to send the CBCT Scan as well as the PA Bitewing for that Molar to them. They did send the CBCT Scan but Greater Midwest Oral Surgery could not open the file and view the CBCT Scan. They also mentioned that they had three other patIents from WI Endodontic-Mayfair that CBCT Scans could not be opened/viewed. I called WI Endo back and told them that. All they could say was the Oral Surgeon's Office did not have the correct software to view this $200 CBCT Scan. No way was I going to pay another $200 for another CBCT at the Oral Surgeon's Office too. The Dr. Groeckermann, Oral Surgeon was kind enough to offer to do it for free given the circumstances. I did some research regarding this and found out in the State of WI, Endodontics are required to send the required software disc along with their CBCT Scan. WI Endodontic-Mayfair did not do this and attempted to place the blame on the Oral Surgeon's system. For the brief time actually speaking with Dr Chybowski and her insistence on TMJ referral, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend WI Endodontics-Mayfair nor Dr. Chybowski. It seems like the CBCT Scan is the money maker and referrals for TMJ aren't far behind. I also believe that Dr. Chybowski could see the amount of decay and placement within the Molar with the PA Bitewing....my own General Dentist could see this on her PA Bitewing of Molar 18. I just wanted to see if WI EndodonticsI could have done a root canal and saved the tooth, but it turned into another stressful, expensive nightmare for me.

Dr. Plecas heard I was standing in a wedding the following week and nervous about swelling. He called their other locations to see if anyone could assist Monday but then instead made time same day in between patients to get the tooth pulled. So beyond grateful to everyone who helped get this done today. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, I truly am amazed they made it work for me.

They told me they would try and move some things around and they called me back within an hour with a same day appointment. When I got there they could tell I was in a lot of pain and they took the time to hear me out and work through some tests to help me find a solution. While they didn't see any obvious issues, they did call a partner specialist while they were in the room with me to try and get me seen by them that day. I'm super grateful to Dr Plecas and his team for accommodating me when I needed help, and making sure they took the time to work through it all. They are always super nice, non-judgemental and take great care of their team and staff. I am super thrilled I found my way to this group and will recommend them to anyone in need of a great dental practice!

I recently had a sore tooth & went to see Dr. Jenness for the first time. I saw him at 10am and he…read moredecided a root canal was in order, since he already had 3 root canals to do that morning he asked if I wanted to come back in the afternoon. That was fine since I work about 4 miles from the office. When I got back to the office about 3:00pm I only had to wait about 5 minutes. This was the 1st time I've had a root canal done so I was really nervous. He explained everything very well so that helped. The other thing that I really liked was he was very thorough and made sure that I was completely at ease. I have had other dentists that just get in there and get it done rather than take the time to explain what exactly is going to happen. From what I had heard, I was expecting to be in a ton of pain. Fortunately it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. There was discomfort once the local anesthetic wore off but he had prescribed some pain meds. Which led to my 1st problem with my experience. I ended up having an allergic reaction to the meds. Fortunately it was just a rash and nothing serious. The problem comes in with the fact that I called his main office number after hours (as his website says to do) to have him call a different prescription in because of the pain. This was on a Friday morning. Unfortunately I never heard back from anyone at the office. The second problem I had was due to some pain in my mouth about a week after the initial procedure. The pain was similar to a cramp in your leg as though I had pulled a muscle. My wife called the office at 1:00pm (when they opened) and spoke to the receptionist. When my wife explained my situation, the receptionist sounded concerned and said she would call my wife back as soon as possible. Since I was leaving work about 3:15, my wife decided to call back about 3:00pm if she hadn't heard from them because she didn't want me to drive all the way home and have to drive back to the office if I needed to go in. When she called back at 3:00pm she was put on hold for over 10 minutes and finally hung up. Dr. Jenness called her back about 3:50pm. When she explained the entire situation (the call on Friday included) he said that they don't check the phones on the days they are off. Which didn't explain why someone didn't follow up with me about the rash and need for a different pain med. He did call in a muscle relaxer for the cramp like pain I was experiencing though. Overall I was really impress with Dr. Jenness & his assistant during the root canal. I would have given him a 5 star rating were it not for the lack of follow up, the 11 minutes on hold & the fact it took almost 3 hours to hear back from him regarding the cramping pain.

The hygienist addressed my concerns with sensitivity and was very helpful and informative. The dentist seemed very knowledgeable, but I felt a little overwhelmed by all of the dental work he advised I have done. I didn't feel like I could ask as many questions or clarify as much as I would have liked. I have a limited income (I went to this location after purchasing a $50 Groupon for cleaning and exam) and I walked out feeling like there was no way I could possibly afford to care for my mouth as recommended. I have gone to the dentist for cleaning and exam at least once a year my entire life and have never been told that there was so much wrong with my mouth. If I could afford it, I would get a second opinion on some of the recommended procedures.
