During our visit, I was told that both of my children needed to be seen four times per week. When I asked for the reasoning behind this recommendation, the doctor responded by repeating my own words back to me, saying that if I "want my children to be healthy, that's what it would take." This felt inappropriate, especially since my children have had no injuries, accidents, or existing health concerns. I also noticed that whenever I asked questions, my own words were often repeated back to me in a way that felt dismissive and manipulative. It was framed as though I wouldn't improve or would remain unwell unless I saw him frequently and only used the specific providers and testing he recommended, regardless of their redundancy. This gave me the impression that the focus was more on maintaining ongoing payments and referrals than on genuinely helping patients. I was also advised to get X-rays, but was told I could only go to a specific university facility located about 45 minutes away. The office was reluctant to provide details and instead wanted to schedule the appointment on my behalf and would even watch my kids at their office while I went for the x-rays. While that might be helpful in some situations, it did not work for me. I was also informed that the visit would cost $150 and would not be covered by insurance. When I said I preferred to go somewhere in-network, the doctor became upset and insisted that if I wanted to improve and for him to do his job, I needed to go where he recommended and pay out of pocket, because he personally trusted that facility. This raised concerns for me, so I declined the X-rays and asked whether he would still be willing to treat me without them. I was told to come into the office to discuss it. Not wanting to waste time, I hesitated, but ultimately went. During that visit, the doctor became visibly angry, raised his voice, and even pounded his fists on the table while insisting he could not proceed without the X-rays. At that point, I chose to leave. I had additional testing pending and asked if I could receive results virtually, explaining that I did not feel comfortable returning to the office with my children or myself. I was told that this behavior was just part of the doctor's personality and that other patients accepted it that way. I did not share that perspective. While I will say that the adjustments themselves were effective, the overall experience felt uncomfortable and, at times, coercive. Being encouraged to commit to frequent visits, expensive out-of-pocket testing, and specific providers without flexibility or clear justification did not feel reasonable to me.

After 2 appointments and some custom orthotics, I can happily recommend Dr. Clemens to the Yelp community! She has a total person approach to her practice, taking the time to even do X-rays when necessary. Being a tech guy I love the high tech approach (foot scans? yes, please!) to care. I am always happy when I go to the doctor and they actually honor my appointment. Yes, I know you are a doctor and you're super-duper important, but so is my time. Dr. Clemens says 10:00, she will be ready for you at 10:00. All 3 times I went to the office I got right in. This is a huge deal to me. Being a part-time athlete and full time Dad and working stiff, my time is limited. Punctual appointments are always appreciated. I think the single best thing about Dr. Clemens is that she took a full appointment (30 minutes) just to watch my movements and take measurements for what my orthotics might need. I don't want to go into all the gory details of my skeletal issues, but suffice to say in 30 minutes with the Doctor I knew more about the curvature of my spine, my hip alignment, and my running gait than I picked up over the previous year. There's really nothing like having a Chiropractor and former athlete do a skeletal analysis... it's pretty eye opening. I initially went in just wanting to improve performance, in the process I found some things that I need to fix. With the help of some X-ray analysis I'm adjusting my training and treatments accordingly. Overall, Dr. Clemens is outstanding. I wish she were in my insurance provider network for long term care, but I can't afford to go outside network. I would definitely see her for orthotics again since they're not covered by my insurance anyway. If you need a great Chiropractor, I'm please to recommend Natural Health Chiropractic.
