Mrs. T once said in the SAT Prep class I recently attended that, "You can't change where you come from, but you can determine where you will go." I am a junior at Roosevelt High School and got accepted into Mrs. T's SAT Prep Class. I had no idea what to expect and honestly went in with an "I don't know..." mindset. I didn't know what to expect from this class, I didn't know what I would gain, I didn't know if I was going to get into college, and I surely didn't know if I could possibly succeed not only as a student, but as a person as well. All it took was the very first day of Ms. T's SAT Prep Class to change my mindset from an "I don't know" to a "I know". With her energy, excitement, and knowledge she has taught so many students the skills and steps on how to pass the SAT Test. She takes the time to provide notes, examples, and even past experiences that help to not only inspire the students, but help to grow their knowledge and understanding as well. Mrs. T will answer all the questions students ask and will take the time to talk to them one-on-one if they need more clarification. Mrs. T goes out of her way to make sure that her students understand what she is teaching and to make sure they have the confidence and skill to complete and do excellent on the SAT. Yes, no can change where they have come from, but they can determine where they will go. Mrs. T has helped students from both private and public schools to realize this. She has helped students gain a confidence that they can and will succeed not only on the test, but in life if they work hard, have a determined mindset, and most importantly... give back to others because everyone is qualified to learn and succeed. I know this... I have gained so much knowledge, insight, and confidence through Mrs. T's SAT Prep Class, I can and will go to college if I work hard and have a determined mindset, and I can succeed on the SAT but more importantly as a person because I am capable. I am still taking classes with Mrs. T and I am continually being inspired and motivated. Mrs. T is truly a gift and she will help you or your son or daughter do well in school, on the SAT, and in life like she has for so many students. There are not enough words to thank Mrs. T for the sacrifice, knowledge, and love she has shown and given to her students through the SAT Prep class. Recently, I was able to catch an opportunity to attend the SAT prep class. And as a student, I feel like this center is a place for individuals to soar. Mrs. Tokars and her fellow tutors are one of the very few people (that I have encountered) that do their best. And with the material they have taught me, I feel like improved so much. Mrs. Tokar's teachings really go into intricate detail on the SATs, while keeping it understandable. Along with that, the learning center is such a healthy, and enthusiastic place to be in. When I first joined the SAT prep classes, I had low expectations. I thought it'd be a class that goes directly from a book, that'll eventually bore me out. But this learning center was something that totally took me by surprised. During my sessions, I felt extremely welcomed by Mrs. Tokars. She was able to give my classmates and I a very good time while having learn. She even helped about anything related to the test; she told us when was the best time to take, what specific tests to take for certain colleges, and other important information. And what makes this learning center so different from other programs is that you feel extremely comfortable! As I said before, the learning center feels so welcoming, and the tutors are just fantastic. I knew they wanted to teach us, and I knew that by the way they taught us. I actually looked forward to these classes, and I was never disappointed. I felt like an equal to the tutors, and I didn't feel like a lesser being when I was attending these classes. In summary, Mrs. Tokars and her learning center is a place where students can go to learn so much about the SATs. They go into such detail with every lesson, question by question, without leaving one student confused. And students will feel so welcomed into this learning center because of how students are treated as equals. First of all, I would like to preface my YELP review by saying that math was not my kids forte and test taking was a challenge! I heard about Accelerations from another tutor who sent her kids to Mrs. T. I decided to take a chance with ACCELERATIONS and have now been sending my kids to there for a number years. One child took the SSAT PREP and was accepted to both of the schools we applied to. Now teenagers, I send them to ACCELERATIONS LEARNING CENTER for math classes during the summer (instead of the traditional summer school) because the quality of the teachers are superb! I have seen such a turn around in their attitudes and abilities toward math. All instructors are empowering to help the individual student develop by building a solid foundation to move forward. The feedback I always get from my teens is that they want to go to class and their grades have improved...ipsa loquitur...speaks for itself! Let me add that my older teen recently took the SAT PREP classes from Mrs. T who makes learning fun and is able to communicate concepts with clarity. We had a great experience with Accelerations Tutoring, where our son (then 4, now 5) attended weekly for many months. We originally enrolled him to supplement his preschool learning (after a period when his class didn't have a lead teacher) and to help him prepare for private school kindergarten testing and interviews. He worked primarily with Mrs. Peterson, who was warm, patient, and kept him engaged throughout. The one-on-one attention was exactly what we were looking for. Occasionally, there would be one other child in the room, but the environment always felt calm and focused. Our son looked forward to his tutoring sessions each week, which says a lot, and the location was super convenient for our family. Most importantly, the experience helped build his confidence and sharpen his early academic and communication skills. He was ultimately accepted to a private school for kindergarten, and we feel Accelerations played a meaningful role in that outcome. We're very grateful for the care and consistency Mrs. Peterson, Mr. Kawelo, and Mr. B provided. I rarely ever write reviews except for exceptional experiences. This is one of those times. Mr. Kawelo and Mr. B provided my daughter with the confidence and precise understanding of the SSAT process. The level of prompt communication and clear direction for my daughter's SSAT path was evident from the initial phone call I made a year ago. We had a hard rejection from Punahou last year (2025) and decided to try to find a prep center for her. Stumbled across Accelerations online and made the call. Mr. Kawelo answered all of my questions and made me feel assured that Accelerations was the best choice. Was hesitant about the money at first, but in life, you typically get what you pay for. After my daughter's first session with Mr. B and seeing her enthusiasm about the session, I knew Accelerations was the right choice. Fast Forward to last week, and my daughter was accepted into Punahou. We will definitely use Accelerations again for any school tutoring and SAT prep in the future. Mrs.Tokars has truly been a blessing in my life. I have been going to Accelertions from the time i was in 4th grade up until now. This facility is full of wonderful teachers committed to helping kids improve. Mrs.Tokars only picks the best of the best teachers to work at Accelertions Learning Center. Not only is this place my second school, but it is also like a second home. They do not just teach math, science,writing, etc; they also teach values such as being repectful and responsible. The learning methods used here are phenomenal. When I started the SAT class, i had a very low score of about 1100. Mrs.Tokars' teaching is very easy to understand and with some practice it is sure to get you above an 1800. This isn't like any plaine SAT class where you just take the test over and over without actually learning anything. Mrs.Tokars teaches different methods for different problems so that we exceed at taking the test. Accelerations is full of spirit and excitment when it comes to learning. I went to Accelerations to prep for the PSAT and the SAT with the Master Class and Strengthening Class. I scored average scores while taking practice tests, so I decided to go to Accelerations, which many of my friends had highly recommended. I highly recommend Accelerations as well. Ms. T is so extremely genuine and you can tell that she really cares about each and every student. Her constant positivity and encouragement made this time a lot less stressful for me, and I had a blast going in for class every week. I had gone to other SAT classes before going to Accelerations, but no other class had provided me with so many specific strategies like Accelerations did. Ms. T and the SAT classes helped me not only to improve my PSAT score by 300 points and my SAT score by 200 points, but also helped me gain confidence in my academic abilities. Mrs. Tokar is truly a blessing and has a gift that she is sharing with us. Some people might think that its just another SAT practice program and its not, its way more than that. I am currently a junior at Kamaile Academy and I look forward to every Tuesday knowing that I am going to be staying after school to work on something that is beneficial for me and my future yet exciting at the same time. Mrs. T is such a spirited woman and really gets to know us she doesn't act like shes better than us and she gets us really engaged in the program. Mrs. Tokars, the founder and a teacher has helped my son believe in himself and go forward in his math foundation. She will forever, be a role model for him and myself. I'm currently a McKinley High School student and I needed to prepare for my SAT next year. One thing that I am really glad was to take the offer of SAT prep class at our school. Even though, it was a short period of learning time with Mrs. T. but I really enjoyed the way how she teaches the class and made it much easier to understand. First of all, English wasn't my first or second language so I did struggle but after a while I realize everything Mrs. T taught wasn't hard to understand at all. However, my lessons are done with her at our school but I wish later on in the year I would go back to her learning center and get helped again. So I would really recommend students that is struggling and needed help with SAT prep to come to the learning center. It's DEFINITELY worth the money and worth the time rather than just staring at a SAT prep book yourself to figure out the test. read more

Accelerations Learning Center is a wonderful place for kids of many ages. On top of it all, the tutors are really interactive and kind to the students that they have daily. I, a student of Kalani Highschool, have been excelling through tests, completing homework, projects, and all kinds of other things from the immense help of the team of tutor's at Accelerations. I truly cannot express it through words, but Accelerations Learning Center truly knows how to connect with your child to make concepts easier to understand and also bond with the students themselves to make the learning center a happier, enjoyable, fun place to be after school or on the weekend. Cassandra and her crew changed my life. Honestly. I was finding myself getting more and more overwhelmed in high school as a Punahou student in honors and AP math and science classes (while language arts classes were more of my strong suit). I started getting tutoring in math, science, and sat prep starting freshman year and it was the best decision I made. They gave me confidence, tricks, and skills in areas that weren't easy for me. Having been to other tutoring places, this place is hand-down the best! Teachers really care about the students, and all of the tutors my children have had are excellent. My kids enjoy coming here, and this place has helped them bring their grades up and boost their self-confidence. Teaching is provided in a fun, supportive environment, in separate classrooms conducive to good learning. As a parent I love the reasonable rates, and scheduling flexibility where you sign up for next months' classes during the previous month; you are not locked in to a particular time/date for a whole semester or quarter. A few months ago, everyone around me would tell me that I'd have to do extremely well on my SAT if I wanted to go to college and it would make me anxious knowing I had no idea how to study for it. I didn't even know what would be on it. However, after continuously getting taught Math and English skills by Ms. T, I'm starting to become more confident about getting a good score on the SAT. I am currently taking a SAT prep class at my high school, through the Na Hoku Ala program, which developed from Accelerations. Mrs. Tokars, the teacher, is really funny and enthusiastic! Her lessons have high energy and I enjoy coming to class. Her strategies are amazing and have changed my entire perspective of English, math, and writing. Mrs. T and Mr. B is very good with kids! My boy/girl 8 year old twins have been going for about 1 year now. They explain concepts that makes it easy for them to understand. Mrs. T and Mr. B has good positive energy and easy going. They have lots of experience tutoring children.The twins love going to Accelerated Learning! I used to take Mrs.Tokars' SAT prep class. I really enjoyed this class and I feel that class it was very beneficial . Many high school students dread taking the SAT's because of how influential it is towards getting into college.
