BEST MOVERS US is honestly the absolute BEST. From the initial consultation to the movers…read morethemselves - I could not say enough good things about this company. They are organized, incredibly hard working and all have great attitudes. If I could give them 10000 stars I would - honestly! I have had terrible moving experiences, and to have a company in the area that is honest, trustworthy and dependable is a breath of fresh air! I think the woman who gave 1 star in 2014 is confused, because there is absolutely no way this company is not always, always, always on their A game. Please book this company when planning your next move, you can thank me later! Thank you guys so much again!

I scheduled an appointment on behalf of my sister she is selling her property in Charlotte and ask…read moreme to orchestrate the move. I advised the representative I spoke to my sister will be paying for the service and she confirmed the reservation. 8am the day of the move the representative calls to say she has to confirm the payment with the card holder I give her my sisters number to confirm keep in mind it's 5am in Los Angeles where she is but none the less she confirms with her and everything's fine. The mover shows up and I greet him and start showing him around he immediately starts telling me that he can't take the tiles I showed him if they are not boxed he doesn't ask if I have boxes he goes straight into we won't move that I say ok I can box them let's go ahead and look at the rest of the items he confirms everything else is ok he calls the office to advise her to charge 4 hours in advance which I thought was odd because I've worked with several moving companies before and I've never seen someone do that so I got on the phone with representative at the office, and it's my opinion that the mover judge me because of the color of my skin I am a younger black woman, and I believe he immediately wanted to charge the card, making the assumption that I wasn't going to pay I told the representative over the phone. Go ahead and charge it. It's fine I don't want any negative energy. I just want to get this all done She then begins to tell me that the card that I'm providing is not acceptable. Keep in mind she called in the morning to confirm with the card holder and now that the movers arrived and saw that it was a young black woman all of a sudden they want to charge the card in advance and then when I said it was OK then they said that they don't want to use the card at all it's very clear to me that this mover came in and took one look at me and made assumptions about who he thought I was. I explained to them that they can go ahead and cancel. God bless them and I closed my door. I am extremely disappointed by what I know was prejudice. It was shameful the way the mover behaved and I would never use nor recommend this company if it was made clear that the card could not be used at the time the service was scheduled then things would be different, but you can't meet someone and then change the terms of the agreement. It's clear that the only thing that changed is the perception they had for me as a client. It's very sad that in this day and age, we still as Black people have to face such prejudice I have been greatly inconvenience, and now I have to find a new company to try to do the move same day, all because of someone else's preconceived notion and outright racism. I sent an email and I called and I was blocked from calling as you can see and other reviews they will respond and try to solve the issue. They are actually avoiding speaking to me at no point did I ever raise my voice or did I speak nasty to the men that were here I actually told them God bless them before they left. This company does not care about the opinions of Black people.

Unpaid, actual detailed client review…read more Move date: 03.25.2024 Part 1 I can not emphasize enough the extraordinary experience my family and I had with the Hockaday Brothers Moving Company (HBMC) during our recent move. From the moment we engaged their services, it was evident that we were in the hands of consummate professionals.  Despite the challenges that moving day inevitably brings, they kept us at ease throughout the entire process. Foremost, let me commend the dedication and sheer stamina exhibited by the crew. Working tirelessly and with unwavering energy, the five (5) man crew (including the owners operator) with two (2) large moving trucks, efficiently tackled every aspect of our move, regardless of the hour or the complexity of the task at hand. Their meticulous attention to detail and careful handling of our items was truly commendable. Their relentless work ethic not only impressed us but also alleviated any apprehensions we might have had about the daunting moving process.  What truly sets Hockaday Brothers apart is their unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity. Unlike many others in the industry, they provided a transparent and fair pricing structure, ensuring that we were not taken advantage of during a time when vulnerability often prevails. In an era where people are emboldened behind screens with this unbridled with rage and only post negativity to take companies to the proverbial woodshed, there was ZERO downside lurking within HBMC. These are good guys, trust me because they were with us for about  twelve (12) hours straight.  Listen, despite their three-hour drive from Charlotte to the RDU area, they arrived promptly and ready to tackle the tremendous job at hand in this unexpected time gobbling yet client focused move. Their professionalism, dedication, and hard work have earned them a customer for life. I will not hesitate to use them for all of my future moving needs and will enthusiastically refer them to anyone in need of a top-notch moving company. It was evident that their priority was not profit but rather ensuring our peace of mind throughout the entire journey. Moreover, the trustworthiness and purpose exhibited by the team within the confines of our home was unparalleled. Each member conducted themselves with the utmost respect for our belongings and properties, handling them with care and precision as if they were their own. This level of professionalism instilled a sense of confidence in us, allowing us to relax and focus on the excitement of the new chapter awaiting us. HBMCs full-service approach to both interstate and intrastate moves is truly laudable. From the initial consultation to final delivery, HB 'leaves no stone unturned' in ensuring a seamless transition for their clients. Forbye, the communication throughout the entire process was beyond outstanding. The regular updates provided leading up to the move, during the process itself, and even afterwards to ensure our satisfaction, truly exemplify their dedication to customer service excellence. I must admit, my decision to hire HB was influenced by the glowing feedback I researched online, particularly on the app, Thumbtack. However, it is one thing to read about exceptional service and quite another to experience it firsthand. Their service speaks volumes about their commitment to going above and beyond for their clients.  Not to mention, they finished at 1am and had to lend services to another client bright and early the next day... and yet the owner, Jackson, still found time to text me to ensure we got some much needed rest and that everything was great on our side.  Jackson, the aforementioned owner, was right there, moving boxes and furniture, working up a sweat in the cold of night,  alongside his equally hard-working crew.  Sir, you are one of a kind,  a gentleman,  a great leader,  an amazing communicator, and an astute business owner & we're glad to know you and your team. We wish you,  and the crew,  great success in your endeavors. Don't change a thing! To everybody reading this,  it's rather needless to say at this juncture, but here goes. . . I have become a staunch advocate for HBMC, a family-owned moving company, and will not hesitate to recommend their services to friends and family alike. In fact, I am already eagerly anticipating the opportunity to enlist their help for any and all of our future moving needs. In conclusion, I implore anyone in need of a moving company to look no further than Hockaday Brothers Moving. Their unparalleled dedication, honesty, and professionalism make them an invaluable asset during what can often be a stressful time. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for turning what could have been a logistical challenge into a smooth and memorable experience.  I emphasize,  moving a whole family can be difficult and stressful.  We appreciate Hockaday taking the load off of us for your clients. A seamless and stress-free experience!

They were HOURS late & had no intentions of letting us know until we called them multiple times,…read morethen had the audacity to charge us for the hours they were late. DO NOT use their "assembly" service: they intentionally took forever (3+ hours) to assemble 2 pieces of boxed furniture and managed to break it/strip screws along the way. All while saying, "there's no way you would have been able to put this together" to two women... We had to reorder a replacement (because they broke ours), and we put it together in less than an hour... so for two professionals to take 3X longer than two girls, just to charge by the hour, is insanely unethical and disappointing. Their moving service was fine (4/5 stars and affordable), just be mindful that they likely won't show up on time and cannot be trusted for assembly.

After I posted details of my electrical problem on Angi (Home Advisor), MT called me and said, "Free Estimate." I explained my problem on the phone (GFCI outlet I installed did not work) and asked what the typical cost would be. I was told they had to visit and see. But it was just a circuit breaker, which they flipped off/on. (Try that first yourself with all breakers in the box. They also said, it happens "all the time.") They did explain fully and showed me how I might change the old breakers myself when they wear out. So I appreciate that. But $100 was too much as their "minimum" charge without being told that in advance, especially for a "free estimate" as the visit--when I also asked in advance what the cost might be.

They were very respectful, stating "this is my house." 2a) Electricians were listening and doing what the older electrician said, who showed us how the old bathroom fan had paint from "cuddling," while the ceiling was painted for renovation in 2020, before I bought the townhome. 3) MT Electricians came prepared w / equipment and fan. 3a) They changed the bathroom fan and went into / out of the attic, with entry from the ceiling in my master closet. 4) MT Electricians were dressed practically, wearing MT Electrical t-shirts. 4a) Even Forest tied his hair back. It reminded me of when I worked as a nurse before a traumatic auto accident about one year ago. 5) Appreciated MT Electricians support of my college-age daughter, at Carolina, which they support. 5a) Older electrician, whose name I did not ask, was very knowledgeable, and helped me carry a long box downstairs. 6) The bathroom fan replacement was very timely, as they brought the "painted," older bathroom fan, because the air cover was not covered downstairs. 6a) Forest clarified how the disposal process is appropriate, and I should throw out and not recycle. Final summary: I feel very blessed that MT Electrical was recommended by Angi, and worked so quickly, professionally, respectfully, including supporting my college-age daughter and me, both for my alma mater, but continued rehabilitation, which is vocational, with plan to return to work.
