This place is horrid. Dirty dishes. And they don't care. I talked to, I guess, the kitchen manager, Ron. I asked if he was going to take accountability for the dirty dishes and he said "I said I'm sorry". I asked if he planned to check the dishes and he told me no. He said they roll over 100 silverware a day and he isn't going to check it. He had an attitude. My Dad knocked a glass of water over and the water stayed on the floor until it dried. My Dad can't eat cheese. They brought him cheese on almost every meal. The staff are unfriendly and do not listen whatsoever. Please do not take your family here. Its awful! And upon leaving the nurse came into the room and started talking about my Dads meds to someone other than himself. Acted like he wasn't there and was giving his medical information to someone else. Someone she didn't know and didn't ask who he was in relation to the patient. And my Dad is of sound mind and she should have talked to him. He feels like it was against hipaa for her to do this.

How is the care after the new management? Can they handle the care needs of a totally dependent patient?

Fair. But the social worker is the pits. No improvement! Had a care plan meeting that never covered any plan of care. They dropped that ball after my father in law went home and was told it's not their responsibility anymore because he was…

When we got there the bed mattress that was supposed to be on the bed was on the floor for three days. No one took the time to put it on his bed to prevent bed sores. Next he was constantly being fed his evening meal at the same time of his breathing treatment. It was always at the same time and the food was cold when he was able to eat. He was told that was his set schedule for a breathing treatment. My question is, if his breathing treatment was at five and they bring the food in at five - why didn't they schedule that a little differently. The buzzers from all of the patient rooms were going off continuously and not a person in sight to help any of them. Lastly, he is one that had to have a man's diaper due to his kidneys. He had an accident and was trying to move around because of it being uncomfortable and fell off the bed sometime during the night. He laid there yelling help to around 7 o'clock in the morning. Which is why he ended up in the ER. He even had a touch of pneumonia because it was so cold in his room and his wife had to get him a blanket. As for me, I have spent many days in the hospital, nursing home, home healthcare and rehab centers because I am in ministry. This has been the worst experience I have ever had or seen in any of the facilities or stayed at with friends and loved ones. My thoughts are: they are not very attentive, nor caring for their patients. For the amount of money, the patient pays not including what Medicare or insurance pays, this is very poor in service and in care of the patients. My opinion is to put your loved one or friend in another rehab facility besides this one. They may change with leadership, but for now, it needs to be evaluated. Please check the facility yourself and ask lots of questions and make sure you're there wherever your loved one is to be sure they properly treated and cared for. I rated them a 2 because of thefood m. It was really good but the service of getting the food to the patient was unprofessional. Sometimes it would sit in the hallway for a while until the loved one went out to get it for the patient. I have to admit Physical therapy staff wasreally good with the patients and couldn't ask for better. If they could just get the rest of it to match up, this would be a good place to go.

We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. We collectively know that it was Accord Palliative and Hospice Care that went above and beyond for our family. Thank you guys so much for caring for us in our time of need. -Davis Family

Initially, I was leery of working with different therapists, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are all experts in how the body is supposed to work, and they know what it takes to get it to its maximum performance level. They function as a family, into which I felt welcomed from the start. Every time I walk in the door, someone greets me by name and asks how I'm feeling. They are warm and genuinely care about my whole being, which is yet another plus. During my session, I sometimes look around the room and marvel at how this group of young experts has kind, almost loving, yet professional relationships with their clients. And they work with people of all ages with effortless professionalism. The app is also amazing. I confessed that I'm guilty of not using the app regularly, so my expert for each PT session advises me of any changes they're making, new exercises they're adding, etc., so I will know to check the app to ensure I'm doing the exercises correctly with the recommended number of reps. If you need PT, don't deny yourself. Get the best. You deserve it. I recommend "my" location, which is on the Tollway adjacent to Methodist's Hospital for Surgery. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to ATI's experts. As I sit here typing, I feel no pain - even if it's temporary. :-)

If everyone in the building is as good as the folks in Schepps, then this place would be golden. My grandmother was there for a year-and-a-half. Dee Dee is an aid in Schepps and she is an absolute angel. I wish I could remember everyone's names because they all deserve gold stars--Shonda and Olu were top notch. The facility is well cared for, some areas are newer than others. However, almost all the rooms are private, which you do not find very often. They allow you to bring in your own furniture and encourage you to treat the room like it's your own. You can add carpet and drapes if you want. And hang all the pictures you want on the walls! My grandmother loved making the room look like her home. The only downside is the inconsistency of the food. Sometimes it's great and sometimes its the same thing for a few meals in a row and it's not that tasty. My grandmother could not go down to the lunch room and had the meals delivered to her room. The food in the lunchrooms was a little better than that delivered. Breakfast was always good--they cooked her eggs to order. And with a facility this big, occasionally things came up missing. But that is true at any facility this large. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, they took it very seriously. Did I mention we were on Medicaid? Yeah, all the services at an expensive place and they take Medicare/Medicaid. If this is on your short list, and you can get in--do it.

If you care about your loved one's safety and well-being, I strongly urge you not to send them…read morehere. My father entered this facility for 20 days of rehabilitation, costing approximately $4,200, and his experience was absolutely horrific. He left in significantly worse condition than when he arrived. My father has taken psychiatric medication since he was 12 years old because of severe childhood trauma. Despite receiving discharge instructions from the hospital, this facility failed to provide his psychiatric medication for more than three weeks. Staff then called my elderly mother and said they were discharging him because of his behavior. We were stunned. How can a facility stop a lifelong psychiatric medication, fail to address the consequences, and then blame and discharge the patient for his behavior? My father also has serious swallowing difficulties and is at risk of aspiration. His hospital instructions required a pureed diet and specific swallowing precautions. When the facility sent him back to the hospital for approximately a week, they apparently failed to communicate those critical instructions. The hospital began serving him regular meals, placing him at further risk because he could not safely swallow that food. The neglect did not stop there. My father was frequently left alone in his room, urine was left on the floor, and he had to change rooms after ants were found in his bed. His bed was positioned with his back toward the doorway and his face toward the wall, so he could not see staff passing by or entering. There was no phone in his room. Our family repeatedly called staff about his medications, his behavior, and our concerns, yet our calls were not returned. Staff may sound friendly and reassuring on the phone, but their actions did not reflect genuine care. My father declined physically and mentally while he was there. Now my elderly mother is being left to care for him because the facility is discharging him over behavior that occurred while they were failing to provide his prescribed psychiatric medication. I have filed a formal report with Texas Health and Human Services. This facility's failures involving medication management, swallowing precautions, sanitation, supervision, and family communication created serious and potentially life-threatening risks. Our family trusted them to rehabilitate and care for my father. Instead, he was neglected, isolated, and returned to us in worse condition. This is not the last they will hear from our family. Please think very carefully before placing someone you love in this facility.
