Old, very thick, cement had to be removed in front of the garage and around the back before they could lay down the Techno-bloc pavers. The job included removing the cement, laying down a substrate, installing drainage, building a decorative wall, laying down the pavers, installing a walkway partially around the house, along with adding and relocating existing shrubs. Hard work. The crew worked long hours, and didn't complain if changes needed to be made. And, they took great care and pride in their work. Dane, who beautifully designed the patio for us, was, also, a dream to work with. if we had concerns or changes that we decided to make last minute, he was extremely accommodating, and very polite. His professional and easy- going personality is one of the reasons why we chose to go with Gill's Landscaping following our initial meeting. Despite my contract from last year citing an expectation for a 2% annual increase, I got a ~25% rate hike. The woman I worked with was not kind and not willing to help me understand where this came from. I ended up finding the owners email and was able to reach out to them to try to learn more and find a more reasonable solution, but even going over their new math, it still didn't make sense, and still had me over 20% higher than last year for the same work. They cited that I was charged incorrect last season (despite having their invoices with exact man-hour times spent and their own provided labor rate). Additionally, the new contract (which I did not sign) created new clauses in the fineprint to do price hikes in subsequent years without needing a reason. So disappointed, but I'm not comfortable going into contract with a company that doesn't honor their own contracts, hoping you won't notice.

After hearing about him through some neighbors, we gave Dom a call and scheduled some time for him to come discuss our ideas, likes, dislikes, etc. Not only was he the nicest guy imaginable, he was very thorough in finding out what we liked, going through photos of previous jobs and a catalog of plants that he thought would suit our taste. We talked for quite a while and he left, promising to return with sketches, pictures and a quote. He came back with exactly that. A diagram of both areas we wanted redone complete with not only what he picked out, but with some fantastic suggestions as well. We talked through everything, made some minor changes and at the end, VERY slightly adjusted the price (we ended up going with a few things that cost more than the original estimate). We talked it over and called him to let him know we were ready to go and he was there the next day with his crew completely transforming our house. In 3 days they've managed to completely change the way we look at our house through their work. What I loved the most was that Dom was there 80% of the time and made sure we loved everything he did. He planted a color plant we thought we wanted, we decided we hated it and he replaced 3 of them, free of charge. Truly just an honest hardworking guy with fair prices. I'd recommend him to anyone.

They were courteous and did all they could do to get the job done in one visit. Even saying that they underestimated what it would take to get it all done and I appreciated that candor in place of overpromising. The price was fair and I recommend this company for removal. What I learned is that I should have broken the work up instead of expecting everything to be done well in one visit. Moving quickly, four bushes were removed that shouldn't have been, the grass is still overgrown (but better) and clean up was still needed. There was just no time and they had already worked a full day. Daquan said they would make up for it by giving me a free cut in the future so we'll see. Overall, good for removal and hard yard work. I'm so glad that part is over and now we replant and landscape.

Connor is by far one of the best contractors I've ever hired. From the consultation all the way through to the completion of the project he was absolutely professional on every front. We have been having water issues in our back and side yards. Our backyard has a pretty decent slope to it and the water would pool between our patio and playground. Connor came out and did a through inspection of the property and advised installing a catch basin in the back yard that would dump out into the street as well as a French drain to handle the soggy side yard. When we informed Connor that we'd be using him he told me he'd rethought some things about the project. Just the idea that he'd put additional thought into our situation before we'd signed a contract made me feel like he really cared about helping us. Throughout the project we kept remarking about how efficient and thorough his work was. Every day he cleaned up after himself and made sure any digging was filled back in. I've never hired someone who has worked as hard as Connor. I cannot say enough how grateful we were for his meticulousness and professionalism. A few days after all the pipes had been laid down we had a decent bout of rain in the morning. Usually this would mean a small pond in our backyard and our side yard would be marshland for days. We had no pooling in the backyard and when I checked the side yard at about 2 pm the ground was almost dry. I was hopeful that it would work but I was astonished at how well it worked.
