Acai Republic is my new go-to acai spot in the OC. I can see why it has so many five-star reviews. The quality of the ingredients and the service are unmatched among its competitors. I really love the Cali Bowl and the ability to customise the bowl to accommodate my allergies. Each item is thoughtfully handcrafted and it always tastes amazing. There are a few indoor tables to dine in, but most people seem to take their items on the go. Although it is slowly becoming a franchise, it very much has the feel of a small business. read more

Ehhh is all I can say about this place. I've worked at Nekter before and we actually make the smoothies in house. It seems Acai Republic gets premade smoothie packs which is very disheartening. What if someone has an allergy or wants a certain ingredient removed from their drink or bowl? I got the pitaya smoothie and it literally just tasted like a smoothie pack that was blended with a bunch of ice which made my smoothie just taste like ice. First time here and it was outstanding! Pitaya smoothie was a beautiful, vibrant purple color, delicious. Not too sweet, just refreshing. Also try the chicken potato pastry. That was so good, nice light crunchy outer layer with chicken and soft potato inside. A perfect light combination. read more

This place is fantastic. Every time I am craving something fresh, light, and healthy--açaí bowls are my fave and this one is super yummy. This location is a bit smaller and it faces Newport Ave (you will have to park on the side or behind and walk to the front), but inside was very clean and enjoyable to enjoy our food. The service here was vey very good--the workers informed us of the app special--which saved us 50% of our total order--which was super nice of them to let us know before we ordered. The first time I tried some of their pastries. We tried the ham & cheese empanada and the cheese balls. These were both good, but a little stale--I would imagine since it was later in the night, they weren't as fresh, but still pretty good. The bowls were outstanding. The frozen base is so good along with the fresh fruit on top is just great. You can tell their produce is very ripe and fresh! I recommend the medium as it's pretty filling. The layers of paradise is really unique. It's layers of açai and passionfruit cream, which is tangy and sweet. For the base, I did the classic most popular and it was good. You can pick three toppings. The cheese bread is good. It's warm. It's super gooey and thick inside. We tried the beef empanada and it was pretty good with hot sauce. It's not a traditional empanada I am used to. It's still good though! The site itself is pretty flavorful. Sevice is really friendly. Location is also good. Came to try this place since I heard this location just opened recently. I ordered The Cali acai bowl We also ordered some food which included an empanada, cheese bread, and chicken and cream cheese coxinha. It was my first time trying Brazilian pastries, and I was pleasantly surprised, I really liked the coxinha as it was very flavorful. I ended up ordering another one to go since it was so good. Ask for hot sauce as hot sauce with the coxinha helps to enhance the flavor and was super delicious!! The cheese bread was also nice and chewy and the empanada had a lot of flavor profile that I never tried but I enjoyed. They keep all the food in a little warmer so it was nice and warm and crispy when I ate it which made it all the more better. They also have an oven to bake the pastries so you know its fresh. The Cali bowl was also very delicious and refreshing and I really like the base since there was a lot of fruit blended into it along with adding a Brazilian drink called Guanara in to add some sweetness. They were generous with the toppings and this one came with mango, pineapple, granola, coconut shavings, strawberries and bananas. The fruit tasted fresh and I was full even with a small bowl. Tip: If you download the app, you can get 10% off your order! The staff was nice and brought our bowls to us while we were seated. There are a few tables in there, but there are also some to sit outside. I really liked this acai place and I'm glad I went. I really liked how refreshing the São Paulo Acai blend tasted! It was sweet and citrusy compared to other Acai bowls I've had at other places that are generally only sweet in flavor. I added honey on top of my Acai bowl and I think I would pass on this next time because the Acai is already really delicious and sweet. I went with the standard toppings which were banana, strawberry, and granola. I came in around 12:30pm so maybe the baked goods weren't as fresh as in the morning. The cheese bread flavor was really good and they were chewy. The coxinhas are really packed with protein, and I thought they would have more batter. The empanadas were fine, I wish they came with a sauce like chimichurri sauce or salsa. read more

Acai republic is the first acai bowl I ever tried in their Tustin location nearly 10 years ago, and I've been a loyal fan of their brand! They make the best authentic Brazilian acai and I think it's the only place that serves mango as a topping! I love mango! Their pastries are also delicious! Check in to the Costa Mesa location for a free pastry with your order of a bowl! Definitely recommend the coxinha with mashed potato and shredded chicken. Tried for the first time with the buy 1 get 1 coupon I had on my car while in the area. The inside is nice, modern and clean. The staff were friendly and the service was very quick. I got the half açaí half chia pudding with the cali mix. The açaí was cold and refreshing with a lot of flavor and all the fruit seemed very fresh and good quality. While I really liked it, the bowls just seemed pretty pricy for how small the bowls are. Luckily with the coupon it was 2 bowls for less than $12 but if I had gotten it full, I'm not sure it'd be worth it. read more
