There were a bunch of adult AND baby sized manikins that would blink red or green lights as you're doing compressions. Quan made it really easy to understand, and was super patient with everyone. He asked us if we wanted him to repeat any information for us and really taught us all of the necessary steps. About a 3 1/2 hour course and you can easily register online or even pay in person $$ The woman who was helping us sign in would wipe down the manakins with disinfectant right after we used them. This is the most affordable class I've found and I'm glad I took it. I didn't expect it to be so interactive but I'm glad it was!!

The two hour session just flew by. One minute the session was starting, the next thing I realized she was wrapping it up. Karen has an amazing and infectious energy that is transmitted to everyone in the class. The class is very well organized and even fun. Karen has decades of service with the Santa Clara Fire Department. So she is very experienced, dedicated, passionate, professional and despite it being a Saturday morning, really seemed to be enjoying herself! I can't imagine a better learning environment for this material. In summary, I sincerely recommend HeartReady and Karen.

Place is kind of hidden, limited parking or you can also park on the street. This place is very clean, and cute haha I had the privilege to meet Lori very briefly, the owner, and she was really sweet. I took a class with my cousin. I think this place is new because I've never heard of it before and there's not many reviews on Yelp. Our instructor is Njoki. She was very friendly, welcoming and entertaining! I love her. She made you feel comfortable. The course was supposed to last 3 hours but it goes by really fast and you won't use up all the time. It was more like 2 hours for us since it was a smaller class plus the information from the videos can be redundant. My cousin and I were the only students for that class which I loved! I learn better in smaller groups. I don't like crowded classes. I know the one on Meridian always has bigger classes. You watch videos and then you do the hands-on party right after or along with the video. Njoki repeated the main things you needed to know on the test you took at the end so it stuck with me. I was worried about that part because it can be a lot of information to take in especially if it's been awhile, your first time, and that they change every 5 years or so. Be ready for a workout! I was out of breath and my arms and fingers were hurting haha My arms were sore for the next 3 days. We went through adult CPR, infant CPR, choking, AED Use and took a test at the end. Don't worry about failing. There's 25 questions, and they're pretty straightforward. The videos repeat and bold the important parts on the screen. Njoki also tests us along the way and repeats the correct answers and also reviews with questions on the test. Place was very clean. It was very cold that day and the place was heated so I was comfortable. The class was very fun and informational. Njoki was a great instructor. Prepare for laughs, an intense workout, and prepare to be extremely out of breath from all the chest compressions and counting out loud. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. The fee was $75! It is cheaper than other locations in San Jose. Will becoming back here for my renewal haha !

We had about 12 people in our class, most of them taking the class as a requirement for their job (like me, too). We powered through all of the modules without breaks (we all agreed on this, of course) and were done an hour earlier! It will take you half a day to complete the course. You will do exercises (wrapping a bandage, CPR, AED operation and more tasks) but there is no written test for certification, just participation. My colleague and I walked out feeling more confident and equipped to handle situations that could arise at work (we deal with the public when we are open, so it is a requirement on our employer to take the class). I will sign up again when I have to re-certify in two years with this company.

We got to learn about different tourniquets and packing, wixom great practice material. I think this is a skill that everyone should have in their arsenal. He also guided into real world examples, and underscore the importance of these basic skills. You even get a certificate of completion, which I wasn't necessarily expecting, but which I appreciated. There are also other courses available, for those who want a more in-depth understanding. Definitely an opportunity you wouldn't want to miss! I would definitely ask him to come and give lectures in the corporate setting, which seems like people enjoy as well.

His classes are always informative and interesting. He's great at engaging the class and offering real life examples based on his experience as a Firefighter and Paramedic. Each week students get to learn 2 subjects…read more Attendance is strict (as they should be) and while Gavin preferred to have his lunch packed, it is great that students are provided a lunch during their day (8:30-3PM) and a snack. 1st week: firefighter and pharmacy 2nd week: film and production and veterinarian 3rd week: AI engineering and medical science Today is his last day. He said that he's enjoying the AI engineering, that fire was hard, but he didn't care for film and productions. Regardless, the program gave students a curriculum to follow and kept them learning for 3 weeks. I was just surprised when it was him that wanted it, not just me pushing this on him. Rather that than being on the phone any day. I will say though that some parents are not thoughtful and considerate. To be in this program (which is free) and kids from various schools are provided free transportation, free lunch, free snacks.. the only requirement was for the students to remain at school the entire time. You cannot pick and choose when you want your kid to attend classes. A lot of students were turned away for your student yet you don't have the common courtesy to adhere to the program requirement. Gavin shared a lot of students were cut the 2nd week which means other students/families could have benefited from this.

I am Extremely disappointed in how student concerns are handled at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education. When issues involving an instructor were raised, administration minimized the situation and demanded excessive "proof" rather than taking the concerns seriously. This response shows a lack of accountability and poor leadership. A school should protect students, not dismiss them. Families should think carefully before enrolling.
