Academy 4 Lil Angels is a beautiful, updated center with plenty of toys and activities for the students. The teachers are loving and dedicated to providing the best care possible for children in their care. They have rigorous cleaning procedures and go above and beyond with their sick policies to try and keep everyone healthy. The owner is very understanding and open minded to accommodations when necessary. She believes in open communication and doing what is best for the children, staff and center. They provide diapers and wipes, and fresh hot meals for the children every day. They use quality curriculum, such as the creative curriculum designed to enrich and guide the children developmentally. Have called and a emailed multiple times with no response. Staffing turnover seems to be high. I live 30 seconds away and am going to take my 1 year old to another academy in Macomb starting in Feb after having a nanny for a year. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The owner of it is a very fake person. You could tell when she's around. All the employees are on edge. She kicked my three year old, premature child out. For bulling a five-year-old.?.?. when my child was saying he was getting bullied the previous week and she said no way that would never happen doesn't make sense. she's all about money. My children have been attending here off and in for almost 8 years. I can not express enough how happy I am with the level of care the staff puts into them. They have excelled academically and socially because of the positive experiences that they had in care while growing up. RUN, RUN, RUN! The owner Angie runs a childcare center that does not have the children's, parents, or employees' best interests at heart. She has them clock out to do demanding, extensive cleaning of the building. Often, the cleaning is done when children are in classes, they would have to go outside for an extended amount of time (2 hours), or children would be left for hours in the main lobby until rooms and halls were clean (including infants). Staff are stressed out and have many breakdowns due to the long hours. Many staff have left in just 9 months (10). She refuses to get a cleaning crew because she wants staff members to be responsible for that. Staff members appear to be intimidated by her and she responds coldly to children. She holds staff remembers checks until lesson plans and notes are in or she will have them clock out at the end of a long shift to complete the work. She has many cameras and mics all over the building, she acts paranoid and irrational at times. Staff are not allowed to leave the building on their 30-minute lunch. Children are given unreasonable portions of meals and they would request more. Angie owes money to other companies, as they called often to request payments. I have not received my wages after working for 12 days. My intuition told me to run the first day, but the staff was so dedicated and nice, I wanted to stick it out and support them the best I could. I believe that inspection came out one Monday regarding a complaint against her company, and the next thing I know; she is demanding for me to turn over my training notes and my personal paperwork. I believe that she thought that I had something to do with that...no explanation was given. She called the police on me because I insisted on going through my personal documents in Infront of her, before handing them over to her. And, this prompted her to act in a very unprofessional manner, in front of a new employee! She had a parent and child waiting for her to let them in for over 15 minutes. She screamed at a toddler who was waiting in the lobby for an hour to stop bagging his little feet on the bench. I felt so bad for the little toddler, I had to pick him up and hold him on my lap. She confiscated our phones and had our purses and phones in an unlocked closet. I worry for the staff and children, as I feel that she is not stable. As a former administrator, I can tell you that she talks bad about all her staff, and I found it to be uncomfortable and unprofessional. She micro-manages and will conduct these interrogation meetings. Additionally, I would recommend to parents who are still there to do pop-ins to get a clear picture of what is happening. Worst place to work at. I have family that use to work there and all they got was threats from the owner because she wants something. She threatened to take people pay checks more then once and takes money out of your pay checks because she can't buy their owner vacuum. All I heard about this place was nothing but bad news and I have no clue how this place still runs and still have workers. Please note that the many positive reviews were based on the child getting a gift in exchange... This place is very expensive. For 3 full days, we were charged 225/ week, whereas our new daycare is 170/ week - that's a $220/ month difference! Further more, the owner, Angie, charges you everything and anything in fees. We received a 170! late fee for picking up our son late one day, fees if you forget to sign in! , fees if they have to use another blanket for nap time - I am not even kidding. Our weekly bill was usually over the 225, and we would often not get an explanation why (no itemized receipts). The deciding factor for our leaving is the owner, Angie, who treats you like a business transaction. We never felt like she cared about our son beyond our credit card. She was cold and without compassion in 6 months worth of interactions. Very inflexible staff and schedules. Our new daycare is bigger, clean, and my son no longer cries his heart out at drop offs. If I could give no stars I would! My son attended there less than 2 hours before Aubrey called and said he needed to be picked up because they could not handle the responsibilities of a 3 year old who mine you was thrown into a strange environment he didn't know, nobody could go in with him to help make him comfortable and where there is very strict rules that are met with no empathy whatsoever for what the child is going through. I was promised a refund of the $715.00 I paid up front and here it is 2 weeks later and I have still not received a refund. I've emailed about the refund and no response. This place is a scam and run your child in a mill like environment. They nickel and dime you for everything and make you pay for it all right up front before your child steps foot in their establishment then they throw your child out with no notice, promise a refund and just stop taking your calls and responding to your emails so they can keep your money! They charge a credit card fee even for paying your bill which they don't tell you about until they "secure" your spot by taking a registration fee of $185.00. As soon as they get your money they hit you with a bunch of other fees. They play dirty too! Bashing other establishments to gain business. They bashed my sons old school where he was happy and attended for nearly 3 years but they were closing early and I kept losing jobs. Aubrey was excited to bash his old school even though his old school was certainly more capable of handling a 3 year old over the 3 years that they were unable in less than 2 hours. Aubrey took my money, threw my child out and all on the first day of a new job. Please don't use this place! They are heartless and money hungry. They could care less about your child. They only want your money and not the responsibility they are given when entrusting them with your child! read more

I have expressed my frustrations and management is addressing them, and has made some changes. Communication is better and many of the daily emails have stopped, once both daycare and I were one the same page. I do appreciate the owners consideration; waiting to ask me things before just saying yes to my children (re: take home boxes and sweets). I do understand tensions were high during the onset of the pandemic and changes were needing to be made continously. I do believe these changes are for the better. The owner is understanding and calm during face to face conversation, which makes it easy to have small chats re: issues. My kids truly do like it here and they are well taken care of. read more

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience at this daycare. Parents be prepared to have everything on their terms and on their time specially when it comes to communication. I truly believe this is a very shady environment for the children and that's exactly why I pulled my daughter. My daughter was out of daycare more than she was in. This facility uses the COVID excuse ALL the time. Be prepared to pay even when your children is not there for their COVID excuses; this is a repeat thing with this facility. They DO NOT tell you this when enrolling either. I'm currently on the waitlist for two daycares in the area and both do not charge for COVID when your child is NOT there. Also, one daycare stated "25% of my waitlist are kids from Academy 4 Lil' Angels". I feel my daughter was not being protected at this facility as she was in and out of different classrooms, bouncing around to different teachers/ kids; we were told at the start that kids stay in their own classrooms to eliminate exposure due to COVID (but they want you to pay but weren't protecting our kids). Other places I've toured, kids stay in their own classroom's with their own age group and DO NOT bounce around. Parents be prepared to NOT tour the facility before your child gets enrolled. I have asked twice now and have not received a response from the owner Angie. We are focused to drop/ hand off our kid at a glass door with a mask on and have no time to even chat or feel comfortable to chat with the office manager, a teacher (I dont even know who the teachers are there) or no one! Other places I have toured (which I'm on their waitlist) allow parents to walk in their child, take off their coat, have a few minutes inside with their teachers to chat about anything they need to. I have never felt this type of comfort from this facility like I have other places. Also, everyone be prepared to pay for their golf outings! When I looked at the Holiday calendar for the days off, they're closed for a Golf Outing. Even when the facility is closed for the owner to golf we have to pay and cannot even have a make up day for our kids. Other daycares in the area have laughed and heard this several times from parents switching daycares, LIKE UNREAL! I highly do not recommend this place as the list goes on! I will be contacting the Health Department to explain everything to them and hopefully they will be looking into the safety of the children enrolled and the overall environment at this facility. read more

My son has been going to this daycare for over three and a half years and he loved going there every day! He learned something new every day, the staff was always kind and positive, the facility is always clean, and we felt like we were family! We will miss this place! The director of this facility does not tell the truth. They quoted me 180.00 per week after I paid their 65.00 registration fee they called and told me my weekly fee would be 350.00 per week now they refuse to pay my registration fee back. I used them last summer they constantly had my child in time outs. The directors children are given special treatment, which is really not fair to the other children. Angie acts like she cares for the kids and has their best interest at heart but she is very phony. She claims she has had trauma training, but must have slept through the class. I would not recommend this daycare. The director Angie is very cold, lacks, communication, compassion, professionalism and acts as though everything is a business transaction. Not very assuring when your little one is being taken care there. The director never returned my phone calls or emails and always seems like she's too busy to deal with anyone. My toddler was put into a room with INFANTS which didn't make me feels comfortable because infants need different kinds of attention and care. I came to pick up my son the first day there and he was crying in the corner while another lady was rocking a baby. She couldn't give my child any attention at all because she had to attend to the infant. Also picked him up another time and a infant was laying on the ground and toddler walked n fell right on top of the infant. It was appalling to see. Thank God that was my last day there.
