And television is not the best company. I looked around and found a senior home with an aging population and a youthful spirit. Emerald Court has amazingly wonderful activities. When there's no holiday, they make up their own. The best holiday this year was senior prom. We all were transported to our high school days. We had a King and Queen of the Senior Prom. Besides the singing, swinging bands, we have on a Saturday or Sunday, every week on Thursdays we have Happy Hour. Holidays are another game changer. They dress up each holiday with decorations from ceiling to floor. We have a holiday party with a singing, swinging band, hors d'oeuvres and light drinks. I don't want to forget to tell you about the scheduled activities for every day of the week. When you wake up in the morning, you've got 12 or 13 activities listed on the daily activity board. We have activities from bingo to Wii Bowling Some activities are for active people and some activities are for people who sit in chairs. They don't leave anybody out.. We have two dining rooms and a bistro. . But most of all we have a dedicated staff. This place puts residents first. They take care of you with a smile and a caring heart. The front desk are helpful the chefs cook, lovely meals three times a day in three different restaurants. My mother has lived there for close to two years. She is 94 and assisted living, and I joined her for music classes, history classes, and all their holiday festivities around the calendar, which are absolutely amazing. Morningside of Fullerton has been amazing for our parents! They were blessed to move into a lovely…read moreapartment in independent living. The network of friends they developed over the years is still such a source of joy. Mom was able to stay in the apartment while my father battled Parkinson's disease. She remained there until her stroke in Spring 2026. She was cared for in Park Vista Skilled Nursing by an amazing nursing staff and a team of therapists that literall got her back on her feet. She has just completed her move to Park Vista Assisted Living where she now has a whole new team working with her. The support from all levels of management and staff from marketing to reception has been personal, always helpful and positive. They have been supportive of our parents as they have transitioned through various levels of care never wavering from there commitment to high standards. Clearly, my parents selecting Morningside has made our lives as their children much easier; especially when you see the friendships developed, activities encouraged and care each resident receives. We knew he specifically needed to be in a memory care unit, and we are so thankful that Harbor Heights was able to take him in so quickly once it became clear that we needed to find a facility as soon as possible. After comparing several options, we chose Harbor Heights because of the amount of staff that spoke Korean and would be able to communicate with our dad, and because the facility seemed to be better run and cleaner than several of the others we considered. Though his stay was ultimately very brief before he passed away, we are so thankful to the staff here for caring for him and helping our family through this extremely difficult and emotional time. Moving my mom from one senior living place to another is challenging but during the COVID-19…read morepandemic, it's all the more difficult. But, Sunnycrest did a superb job of making the transition for my mom a peaceful one and all along the way assured our family of their deep care for her by all their efforts. From the director (Heather) working out a great move-in package to the marketing rep (Shawna) who took care of the details and follow-up (even decorating my mom's room since family cannot go in yet) to the maintenance super (Nick) and his team who hauled everything up to room and handled set-up to the other wonderful staff and residents who welcomed my mom ... we couldn't be more happy and grateful. Side note: My mom had lived here before but due to finances we moved her out last year to another less expensive facility. What we learned is "you get what you pay for." In this season when our elderly loved ones are being isolated from family, they need a place that recognizes that and does everything they can to keep their minds and bodies active. Sunnycrest is that place and so much more!! Now I understand why Vibrant Life is their motto.

The staff in the memory care unit are all very friendly. Some of the standouts in friendliness and in taking an interest in my mom are Nick, Susie, Ariehanna, Marco (nurse) and Brittney (nurse). There was some frustration awhile back with my mom not getting her med orders from her doctor's office as Oakmont nurse fax was not working. This was eventually resolved when Ben intervened. Jhoana, director of nursing has also been very responsive. In dining in the Assisted Living dining room, the service could be improved in terms of servers checking back with the table to see how we are faring, and also asking if we would like drink refills. Isabella, a newer employee has been amazing though and goes above and beyond in these areas. She is definitely a stand out. Amy, the Memory Care Activities coordinator, has been great at trying to get my mom to come to activities. At times I have had a hard time connecting with activities department as I only have an email and it takes time to get a response back. I have wished there was another way to connect with them quickly other than email. Maria, the Director has been responsive and helpful when we have had concerns or provided feedback here and there. Edgar, Oakmont transporter, is very kind to my mom and responsive. Last but not least, the front desk ladies, Lexi and Maddy have been great! I love that they always greet me by name and are helpful with a multitude of things. I will mention one of the challenges of memory care is that there are different levels of impairment in the clients. My mom is higher functioning and I do wish there were more activities that she could join the assisted living residents in. This would require staff support and planning for her to go to some of those activities but I do think she would appreciate being with some higher functioning residents. She complains a lot about feeling lonely, as many of the other residents in memory care are not able to interact with her.

His diligent tracking of the additional days required for her stay ensured she could safely transfer from her bed to a wheelchair with the assistance of only one CNA. When our mother arrived a month ago, she was unable to stand or walk, and her progress has been remarkable. We were also very impressed by the medical care meeting provided for our family. It was well-organized, with up-to-date lab work and clear documentation that allowed us to easily understand her medical progress. Additionally, social workers Elvie and Ana, along with Bianca, Alejandra, and Renee from administration, were outstanding resources. They kept our family consistently informed and made the discharge process seamless. It is Wednesday, March 22nd at 11:30 and we found an elderly person on the floor in the middle of a…read morebusy road with a wheelchair (Bastenchury). I rang the elderly care facility, Greenfield Care Center of Fullerton, a woman who answered the door said the person didn't belong to them. Within 5 minutes multiple nurses came out and eventually took responsibility. The cops and ambulance showed up at the scene but no one advocated for her due to language barriers and age. How did this person get out with a wheelchair? She couldn't walk or get up? Doesn't speak any English. If a family member sees this we are willing to share what we saw. Sorry we didn't know what to do.
