The rate increase, I have BC/BS of SC which gave me access to any of the AC/AC Clubs at no cost, When BC/BS changed to a new administer of the plan (Silver Fit) the now monthly fee is $37 a month of course with no notice, How I found out was I checked in to use the club and was informed my membership was suspended, the membership informed me of the rate change. When I asked who raised the rate (from ZERO to $37) I have gotten the run a round. It's AC/AC no its Sliver Fit, again when I tried to find out the rate increaser and asking fto talk to someone from either company I get "we don't hive that information", I believe it's Silver Fit trying to make a profit and become GOLD Fit and pray on the fixed income people. I do feel that both are companies are only have one thing and that's $$$$$ an could careless about the existing members read more

This location of the three sites for Sportsclub is the original and thus oldest. It has a slightly airport hangar feel to it, so it's a lot noisier when in some of the other studio classes. There are ample machines to Target various muscle groups, fitness equipment for cardio, free weights, an actual basketball court, infoir track. Yet I come for the fitness class here, in particular the yoga classes. I do teach (infrequently) here since it's farther from where I live but we used to come here regularly when kids were growing up and the one near us wasn't built yet. Yet, I come here for the therapeutic yoga class as the instructor is such a gifted physical therapist and yoga instructor. The people who come here are very nice, definitely an older crowd yet so inspirational. There are folks in their 60s, 70s and even 80s working out here. There may even be some in their 90s but I haven't had a chance to talk with them. This location does have a pool, shorter so hard to do laps, yet as a result, there are aqua fitness classes too. There's a hot tub near the pool. Separate men/women locker rooms with showers, sauna and steam room. You do, however need to bring your own towel (hey, seriously, makes sense). There even is a spa (for nails, massages, etc) along with the physical therapy office. They have tennis courts adjacent (both outdoor and indoor) and racquetball courts (unfortunately right next to yoga studio), juice/snacks and free coffee bar. Even a nursery (on other side of studio room) Ample parking in the bestup lot, yet convenient to I-385 and Congaree. Great choice of classes, equipment, features, and staff! read more

This is the most unprofessional gym I've ever been to in general. The fees are all made up on the fly. Different representatives will all tell you different stories on their policies. The customer service is by far the worst of any place I've ever attempted to do business with at all. I'd stay away. The difficulty and hassle to just have 2 employees on the same page about fees is very discouraging. read more

This location could use some improvements for the price that we pay. The equipment is pretty old, there's a lack of light and mirrors, and the smoothie bar is hardly open anymore. Staff is all pretty nice but today I asked the manager for a shake since she was standing there and she said it's closed from 1-4. Meanwhile a man was sitting there with a fresh shake and it was 2:15, meanwhile they have multiple people working up front. I highly recommend the Five Forks location instead! read more

I have been a member for many years. A new owner took over recently. The parking lot is in disrepair. The men's lockers are in disrepair. The men's showers are in disrepair. The showers, toilets and urinals in the men's locker room need a deep cleaning. The weight machines on the first floor are in disrepair. Some of the weight machines are too close together. The attachments for the weight machines are not organized. Most patrons leave the attachments on the floor when they are done. The facility manager is aware of the problem but does not act. It is no longer enjoyable to work out here. I was hoping the new owner would make a difference. The only difference is the replacement of treadmills and stair climbers with machines that cost $8K+ each. The basics are not being addressed. I will pay more for membership, if the parking lot, the men's locker room and the weight machines are repaired, cleaned and organized. No need to upgrade, just fix what you have. read more

I have been a member here for over 15 years. The staff is very friendly and this gym is almost like a community group. Some of the patrons have known each other for years. They keep the machines and work out areas very clean as well as the locker rooms and classrooms. Child care was a life saver for us in the early days and those caretakers have watched our kids grow up over the years. I have absolutely no complaints. Never had a problem with getting my workout in due to any crowding or any other issue of the sort. Full free weight area as well as cardio and machines and a half court basketball area. I am not a tennis player anymore, but the courts costs extra, both tennis and racquet club. We enjoyed the pool when the kids were smaller, especially during winter. We even had some swim lessons there early on and now I have two varsity letterman swimmers on the EHS state championship swim team. Truly a sense of community. read more

I've been the Duke at Sportsclub for awhile (Ok...boomer) and do like the gym so I should slide them a review. I think they market themselves as the upscale local option and something to be said to support that. I've patronized the Prisma Life Center and 10 Star (a review of them) and have to say the Congaree Sportsclub is perhaps my favorite among them. Obviously for a gym it comes down to what you are actually looking to do. I just need good access to working machines/free weights, etc for strength training. This location well serves that need with a separate well appointed free weight/machines area upstairs and then a huge machine area downstairs and an adjacent large well equipped fake Crossfit type area with all that stuff. I use all three of those areas and can always get what I want to accomplish done with minimal wait time. I've seen a couple of broken machines in 2-3 years and they never stay that way long. There is an indoor track and a ton of cardio type machines. They seem to have a very extensive class schedule covering the gamut of current practice - which I know is the draw for a lot of people. The classroom set up seems a bit challenged with the quiet yoga room sandwiched between a racquetball court (!) and the child care room (!). Not much they can do about that I guess. And they do have the indoor racquetball courts, the child care, a pool, a spa of sorts and a large outdoor tennis center. There is a smoothie bar type deal and other support stuff for physical therapy, etc. The staff there is friendly and helpful and they keep the facility clean and well stocked. I'd say the weights/machine area is about average for rude chuckleheads with frequent plates left on bars, people camping on machines or racks, etc and frankly I've never seen anyone corrected about this. I've come close a few times but not my job and is the job of the gym staff to enforce simple rules like this. I don't think I've ever seen a staff member upstairs apart from occasional trainers or tours. Obviously you'll have to check the facility out and see if their structure, cost and offerings work for you. Overall, Sportsclub is a well run, well maintained welcoming facility providing pretty much everything you could look for in fitness and I'd certainly recommend them. read more

Staff has been most accommodating to this visitor. I have been welcomed and made to feel like a regular member. Lessons and clinics are great. Court surfaces and quantity are excellent. If I lived here, I'd be a member!!! read more

Feel the need to work out when you're on the road? Go here!!! This is a great gym: lots of free weights, cardio equipment, a Spin studio, racquetball courts, basketball courts, indoor running track and a pool. If only there was a bigger pool, I'd give this place that 5th star. Dear lord, they have everything else, why couldn't they have a regular lap pool?!? The gym is clean; there are paper towels and spray cleaners everywhere for you to clean up / wipe up equipment after you use them. We got a great deal when one of the employees told us to say we are IHRSA members. That meant we could use the gym for 6.00 rather than 10.00. We visited this place twice during our stay and, without a doubt, would return if ever in town again. read more

For the dues to be as much as they are at Sportsclub, the equipment is extremely old and worn. Planet fitness has better equipment, and they are only $10 a month compared to the $80 I paid (at a discounted rate as an employee of GHS.). Everything is very cramped, and there isn't enough room to workout. This might have been ok if the staff was pleasant, but they are awful. They have no customer service whatsoever. If you like to be treated rudely by a sixteen year old with no job experience then this is the gym for you!!! The departments have no communication, and most of the staff is pretty much clueless about what's going on. Instead of finding out information for the "guest" they would rather just tell you the answer is no. I was harassed for fees that were already paid, and on multiple occasions the employees were overtly rude. This is the worst experience with a gym membership I have ever had. Not worth it! read more

My husband and I have been members at Sportsclub for 17 years. We go at least 4 days a week. We enjoy the pool, aquatic classes, yoga and working on the floor. The staff is friendly and helpful, the trainers always willing to help and answer questions. The addition of Spa 360 is wonderful and we both use the St Francis therapy center. Sportsclub Greenville has everything we need. We have also made wonderful friends and enjoy the "breakfast club" folks while having coffee after our workout. You are doing a great job! read more

Pretentious front desk...never greeted w a smile...just a look down. There are no classes for working adults when they get off work unless your work day ends at 3. The bathroom facilities are inadequate and you have to wait for a long while...the yoga "studio" is separated by one wall to the racquet ball court where men are yelling and swearing while u try and meditate.
