Trust me, Asheville, THIS IS THE PLACE! Major thanks to Will B. (I'm a huge fan) and the awesome AC Downtown Asheville team for making my first stay epic, and helping me make it a special trip for Coach. Our room was upgraded and the view was awesome. Overall, from the customer care and attentiveness, to the amazing welcome email detailing local suggestions and recommendations for the area, the hubs and I were well prepared and more than enjoyed our stay. We became huge fans and have vowed to return for another stay as the location can't be beat. We loved being able to park our car (and charge it on-site, winning) and walk to our dinner reservations, local sweet spots, and night life as we smack dab in the thick of things. Capella on 9, rooftop restaurant and bar (ask for Warren), was great for dinner, breakfast, amazing Asheville views, AND night cap vibes w/ a DJ as an added bonus. From top to bottom, we loved it here. Cheers!

A fantastic downtown hotel. It's right in the middle of everything. Once parked, I never had to drive again. The couple of ride shares I took were all under $10 because the hotel seems to be close to anywhere in town. The staff were great, as was the food. The 9th floor restaurant/bar has a great view of the city. I highly recommend the avocado toast. I'd definitely stay here again in the future.

I was staying here and also having a small conference. From check in to Ashley and the event staff, everything was great. My room was modern, with lots of outlets, and it had a great shower (no bathtub, thank goodness). I like it cold in the room when I sleep, and the HVAC worked well. I also had dinner at the restaurant on the 9th floor and the food was delicious. There were 3 of us and we shared some small plates, including the marinated olives, sliced steak, seared tuna and patatas bravas. The location is great, an easy walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. The top floor also had an outdoor patio section with fire pits. It's a cool space.

It is time for me to move on after my last visit. I cancelled my two upcoming trips after I got to my room as the hotel is not somewhere I wish to stay again. I gave the hotel multiple chances. Back in November, the key card wasn't working to get in and out of the garage. The staff has always been hit or miss. I had declined housekeeping but my room was still entered and things moved and trash removed. This trip, I was upgraded to a corner room a few days before my stay. I'm not sure why they do this if it is not guaranteed. When I checked in I was then downgraded to a regular room and put on the lowest level floor, no mention of not being able to honor the upgrade. When I went back down to ask about the corner room as I didn't realize that wasn't where I was assigned, I was told that someone else had taken it. So maybe they put someone else in the room. I was also told that there were no rooms available to move me to the 8th floor. (doubtful as the hotel is practically empty so I am sure that was a lie) Later on, I was told the room was not available because it needed maintenance. So they seem to have trouble getting their story straight. I wouldn't have cared if I didn't get an upgrade in the first place as I wasn't expecting one. My issue is that if I was upgraded as a Titanium Member the room should have been removed from the inventory as it is very rude to take it back. Then on top of that say I got the room I paid for. Then, none of my requests were done either which are a high floor; extra pillows; and extra towels as I decline housekeeping so need enough for my stay. I was promised by the general manager back in January 2023 that a specific room on the 8th floor would be reserved for me each time I booked with the hotel. It never happened so that was another lie. One of the elevators went out of service so it is very slow getting up and down with just one in service. It is bad enough with just two elevators for the parking garage; hotel and restaurant. The hotel claims to value me as a Titanium member but it sure doesn't seem that way. I do not feel valued at all and every single request was ignored. It is time for me to stay at a hotel that wants my loyalty and repeated stays as I am in Asheville frequently. I've had enough of the games of promising one thing and providing another. This left bad taste in my mouth and if they don't value my business I will take it elsewhere. I will miss Angela at the AC Lounge.

I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel! All staff was super friendly, especially Elia. Super sweet and super welcoming. And Angela had great service and took care of our breakfast the whole stay. It was amazing I would 100% come again. Me and my family were taken care of completely! :) Overall 5/5 Exceptionally clean Beautiful hotel Amazing staff And the location is incredible

Excellent on all levels. Upon arrival, Laura w comes me and helped me secure an outstanding room upgrade. Throughout my stay she also offered helpful advice on activities and dining. My room was wonderful - clean, nicely appointed, good view, and very comfortable. The property was situated in a walkable area with fun shopping and dining (great coffee spot next door). Parking was a breeze and very convenient. The bar staff at rooftop bar were friendly, fun, and talented. Grew drinks and baked up by a great kitchen staff and chef. I tried several items from the tapas menu and loved them all (generous portions). Throughout my stay Laura, as well as Brandon and Nick, with guest services checked in on me via text and promptly offered tips and answered questions. I really enjoyed my stay and found this to be a surprisingly unexpected treat. Well done to the entire team at this property. I would welcome an opportunity to stay here again. Cheers!

The best thing about having some tapas and drinks at the rooftop bar/restaurant at the AC Marriott Hotel is the view. The seating is first come first serve so be prepared to sit anywhere. The hotel/restaurant does not validate parking in the parking garage at the bottom of the building for customers. The table we sat at, was sticky and if your going at sunset be prepared for service to be slow. The drinks were not my favorite and the pricing was a bit expensive with several drinks on special menu unavailable to customers.

I have been wanting to stay at this hotel the last few times I have visited Asheville and finally was able to. Even though I wasn/t provided my upgraded room as a elite member or even recognized as a elite member as most Marriott properties do, being able to score a room during the busy weekend was good enough for me as I was traveling solo. My first night was kind of rough as there was this loud rattling sound in the HVAC unit (bad design for sure) that kept me up most of the night. Not the best especially after driving 5 hours aloing the blue ridge mountain earlier that day. However, the staff was very prompt in resolving my problem the following morning and allowed me to used one of the meeting rooms to relax and work while the engineer was in my room. The rooftop bar is amazing and the staff fabolous. I am glad I stayed at the hotel as only guests are allowed up to the rooftop currently. The hotel is conviently located within walking distance to many great restaurants so you don't have to move your car much when its time to go find a good meal. Enjoy Asheville

I love this hotel!! Perfect location to walk around downtown and eat at the best restaurants in downtown Asheville. The balcony in our room had a really nice view of the fall colors, mountains and downtown. The staff is friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar/restaurant has great drinks and food and heaters to keep you warm. The view from the rooftop is great too! I can't say enough good things. Edit after reading other reviews: We had absolutely no issues with elevators, loud noises outside or unkind staff! Everything was truly wonderful!!

Great hotel as are most Marriott properties. One issue I will warn you about.... the hotel is next to a public parking deck which the hotel charges you $20/night to park there and it provides access to the hotel. VERY VERY TIGHT parking spaces and difficult to navigate a large vehicle. Very narrow turns and difficult to approach the exit gate (90 deg turn in which you have to avoid a very large post/pillar). Here's what happened to me on my last visit (see photo). Don't say I didn't warn ya

Top floor view of losers not staying at the AC Hotel. But hey, it's a great walk around the area.

Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the central downtown location, friendly and helpful staff, and clean, modern rooms. The rooftop bar and views also receive praise.

The usual irony with…read moreFreemasonry is that these devotees of sacred architecture and geometry meet so often in shabby anonymous buildings with plate glass windows and acoustic ceiling tiles. No such irony here, friends. This particular Masonic Temple is a glorious celebration of detail and craftsmanship. Even the fuse box is beautiful, sitting in plain sight in a glass box in the stairwell, like a lost Joseph Cornell piece. Each doorknob is emblazoned with symbolism in bas relief. The ceiling is expansive, with groined arches recalling classic cathedrals. The original elevator is working, although I think most Americans don't know how to use old-style elevators anymore. The staircase is wide, and recalls the "I don't give a damn" set from Gone With the Wind. The real treasure is the 3rd floor theater. A round, domed room with a curving balcony, painted in dusky pink, chalk blue, and gilt. The acoustics are great, considering the age of the building. The star of the theater is the gorgeous backdrops. So ridiculously gorgeous, they risk upstaging whomever's performing. I've heard folklore (unsubstantiated, but believable) that these backdrops, themselves, are worth millions of dollars on today's market. Layer upon layer of hand-cut, hand-painted detail, that catches the light in amazing, dramatic ways. If you've ever been to the cyclorama in Atlanta, you might recognize a similar style, although the subject matter here isn't military stuff--it's romantic, pastoral, mystical. If you ever get a chance to go to anything at the Masonic Temple, go. Just go. Drop everything and go. Find a babysitter. Cancel your appointments. Go. Especially if you know the event will take place on the 3rd floor. You will be mindblown with awesomeness.

Although Homewood has amazing ceremony sites, we decided to get married in a chapel off site that has sentimental value. Nikki was so patient, answered questions in a timely manner, let us come see the venue several times for planning purposes, and was a reassuring presence throughout our reception. She was usually within sight, but never in the way or asking questions. We really didn't need many decorations because we opted for the candle light package! SO WORTH IT. We did centerpieces and signs ourselves (welcome, departing, schedule, bar menu, gift, favor), used Homewood's tablecloth rental service, and then let the venue speak for itself! I've seen a ton of pictures where people used lots of flowers, and while it was still beautiful, you don't NEED it. I was very happy with our candlelit evening. We had about 130-140 people. While it was full, it never felt crowded or cramped! We opted for the outdoor package, but unfortunately a hurricane came through over Memorial Day (2018), so we didn't get to use it (not sure if we will be refunded for not being able to use the outdoor package we paid for). Keep in mind you do have to use Asheville Beverage for alcohol, and have to use one of Homewood's six approved caterers. We opted for Caroline Allured Catering, and it was so good!! Everyone commented on the food, and she was affordable with great quality. Homewood stored our gifts until parents picked up the next day (there wasn't an event the day after ours), and allowed guests who drank to leave their cars overnight if they needed. Homewood does offer different prices for weekdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so if you are on a tighter package I would suggest asking about an alternate day to Saturday. Even Saturdays are priced affordable though! We can't recommend Homewood enough! The Schills

They would only offer to reschedule. We were obviously disappointed but managed to whip up a truly incredible wedding locally in Raleigh instead. We decided we wanted to have a small vow renewal next year at Homewood so we could have the ceremony we imagined while also keeping our money in the Asheville community with our vendors. We asked if they would reschedule our date and give us a partial refund as the scope of the event would be significantly reduced. They again refused, again, citing the clause in the contract. We made a completely reasonable request - requesting that we be refunded the difference between what we booked initially and what the new event would have cost and they refused it. The entire situation left a really bad taste in our mouths and now we want nothing to do with these people. They showed themselves to be cold, cynical business people. They can throw a wedding in an empty room next year for all we care.

I love hosting large parties at my home, but I can never fit the amount of guests that I want in my tiny little home. Anyway, the venue was set up in a beautiful way- full of antique and vintage furniture items. They have restrooms, but I'm not sure if they have a kitchen. I've been told that they will set up the room however you'd like it. When I was there, they had out three very long tables and I think there were about 50 of us. I have been here many times-mostly for pop up craft/art shows, once for a 20's themed birthday party and most importantly, for my own wedding rehearsal dinner. Renting the space for the rehearsal dinner was easy and the owners were super helpful and accommodating. Their contract is very clear and their prices are very, very reasonable! We had 50 people total for the event and when we arrived the night of the party, they had the space set up for us with their dining tables and lovely chairs arranged as well as a serving station and bar area. Their furniture is what makes this place so incredible really-they have absolutely beautiful mismatched furniture, vintage and rustic looking. This is the type of space that you see all over Pinterest. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a small event venue for a wedding or birthday party.
