Darn it - only 5 stars available to rate! Abstractions (Teri and her crew) deserve 10 stars! We had a good friend pass away in Citrus Heights so we had Teri send the widow flowers. Yes, we did give her fairly detailed instructions on what we wanted. However, she actually did what we asked. The widow was thrilled with the flowers. Now I know Abstractions is not a cookie-cutter florist. You don't order off a list of cookie-cutter arrangements - these are unique and gorgeous one-offs. But the cost is about the same as "the others". If you want something unique, crafted with love and care, look no further. Ring them and order now! You won't be disappointed. Oh yeah, and when I rang - about 9am - Teri said she probably couldn't get them delivered that day as she needed to get to the market to purchase more stock. I ordered a mixed flower arrangement for a friend and was kind of bummed at the quantity and value of the arrangement I ordered. I had specifically asked for a mixed flower arrangement with a variety of colors and when I saw the picture of the flowers I sent her, there were only white and yellow used and one purple iris. I had such a great wedding. I stayed positive through all the mishaps and stayed as stress free as I could. My makeup artist cancelled two weeks before the wedding and even then I was at ease and just took it as it was and found someone else, yet the florist is the only person that could make me want to pull out my hair and she made me cry on my wedding day.. First off, she has horrible customer service. We scheduled an appointment with her to meet her and go over pricing and arrangements and her phone rang and she answered which was okay. Until it was 3 calls later and she answered every one and had the person on speaker and was walking around the house so we could hear her conversation. It was a waste of our time making an appointment when she wasn't attentive to us at all. She did the same thing at a second appointment, she should just let the call go to voicemail and call them back after she's done with her meeting. But that's not even close to the worst of it. So a week before the wedding, we looked at the flowers she ordered for us and it was NOTHING that I wanted. She got the colors completely off. She got me bright Barbie pink roses and the wrong dark color purple flowers when I was super clear about wanting to have mostly white flowers with a tiny hint of really light purple flowers and blush pink. Still not the worst of it, then the day of the wedding.. My mom had to buy her own peonies for the florist to put in because the ones the florist had turned out bad, but only put 3 peonies in my bouquet and who knows what she did with the rest that we bought. And she put hydrangeas in my bouquet, when looking back in our emails, it clearly says no hydrangeas in the brides bouquet. She isn't very attentive like how she got the colors wrong and didn't even put in the right flowers that we were talking about, but it makes sense because she's so distracted by what's going on around her, like phone calls with potential clients rather than the actual clients she's already sitting and talking with. Ok, so the worst part.. On my wedding day, 3 hours before the wedding was going to start we were getting ready and the florist literally storms in arms up in the air, doesn't say hi to me, doesn't say hi to anyone, just says "the cakes not here! I'm not doing the cake! I've been here 30 minutes, I can't stay any longer!" My sister had to put her hand up to have the florist stop her rant and the florist left. We tried calling her so she could decorate the cake that we paid her to decorate but she said she wouldn't come back. So unprofessional. All the other venders I had been working with, their main goal was to make me stress- free and to feel relaxed where the florist did not care about me at all, she threw a tantrum in front of me and all my family. My other venders had been there for 10 hours before the wedding and the florist was throwing a fit about only being there for 30 minutes, even though her contract said she'd stay until 3p and it was only 130p. Her attitude was so unprofessional and so disappointing because you pay so much for floral arrangements for a wedding and I felt unheared and unimportant because she didn't care about my feelings when she stormed into the bridal room just hours before the wedding. Overall, so disappointed and sad with how the outcome came with the wedding day and wouldn't recommend :( read more

My wife loves it when I surprise her with flowers. It creates such a special reaction and makes me feel great to see her excited. We just moved to the area from Portland and I wanted to find a florist here I could count on for a nice result. (You can't use 1-800-flower and expect to create a very special moment. The flowers come in a box and look like they came in a box. They need to be unwrapped, trimmed, arranged, watered and then cleaned up after. There is NOTHING romantic about that - believe me!) Anyway, I researched reviews and Abstractions in Rocklin caught my eye. Everyone loved the care and artistry, and that's just what I was looking for. I called them and immediately got a warm hearted glow. Teri was so "in communication" and helpful, I felt like she was a friend. The price surprised me too. Very affordable. So, I placed my order. The next morning the door bell rang and it was Teri herself, delivering the most beautiful arrangement of gorgeous flowers I think my wife has ever received. I have to say, they were amazing! The arrangement was like a work of art. My wife was SO happy!! OMG! It's been three days ago now, and I'll bet I've gotten at least a dozen "Thank you's" and kisses from her so far. I received flowers for my birthday. They were beautiful until two days later. I received them on 8/21 and over the weekend they looked like trash. I called customer service today and spoke to a woman who said she was all about customer service yet did nothing but question me and tell me I called in a day too late. Not until I became escalated did she offer any type of solution. I asked for the manager/owner and was hung up on. I called back and received the same poor service.
