I was actually heading to another music store on Denmark Street when I stumbled onto Regent Sounds. There I was greeted by Nick Rob and Maya. They were so super helpful as I explained to them that I was looking for something slightly different, maybe a boutique guitar. They let me try several guitars through a variety of amps and pedals to help me find the right guitar. They also help me navigate shipping it back to NYC for a fairly inexpensive price. So let me just sum it up for you if you're looking to buy an instrument. Regents Sounds music store excels with its wide selection of high-quality of mainstream and boutique instruments and accessories, sure to captivate any music lover. The attentive service from Nick Rob and Maya elevates the shopping experience. Their pricing is competitive and I feel that also enhances the store's overall value, for me Regent Sounds remains a top choice for all music enthusiasts seeking top-notch products and service and I'm sure I'll be back on my next visit to London !

I really love this shop, more to look at guitars than purchase guitars. There are some beautiful, rare fenders with big price tags. The shop definitely specialises in high quality instruments. The only problem, which may not be a problem for everyone, is the fact that they don't sell acoustic guitars. The staff are great, and don't mind if you just want to browse.

The experience has been one of encouragement and (much needed) patience from Richard who is a skilled musician and innovative teacher. What has been helpful is that the lessons have been adapted to my needs and interests backed up by resources and support online which has been really supportive. But lessons with Richard are about much more than just guitar lessons. It has been a chance to learn about music and play with others on courses and even to have the chance to play with his blues band! The experience has been excellent and I would encourage anyone (of any age) to have a go and learn a new skill, which I promise you is a rewarding and enjoyable hobby. There are lots of places providing lessons but if you want to learn and grow in confidence and have some fun, then give Richard Perkins a call; you won't regret it. Jon

Let's start with the fact that his playing ability across a plethora of styles is a given. That just leaves teaching ability and depth of musical references. Or does it? With respect to musical reference points it was immediately clear that Richard knows them all. From Albert (King) to (Frank) Zappa, Rich can reel of their back story, their influences and their signature techniques. This in itself is as much an inspiration to continue learning as any hands on playing session. Teaching ability? Patience in droves, the ability to make sense of a half grasped concept and complete it, patience, effortlessly adept at presenting the same information in myriad ways until it sticks and he'll work on your lesson long after it's over and did I mention patience? That's it. No it's not. What REALLY separates Richard from those who wish they were Richard is his drive to create a community of musicians far outside the bedroom stadium that most of us play. You want to be part of a band? He's organised plenty and he'll help you too. Bit of busking at Christmas? Sign up soon because places are going fast! A gig in front of Royalty? Been done. A guitar based holiday in France...nice. Rich won't try and sell you the dream of being Vai in a week or Beck in a fortnight, he won't try to convince you of his cred because he once played with a guitarist who played triangle on the worst selling album by some European rock band you've never heard of who were 15th on the bill at a Bon Jovi show in 1986..... ....what he WILL do is offer you the opportunity to take your talents as far as you wish and be part of great social network of like minded musicians. Can't say fairer than that.
