For me, the BEST things about JIVA are the supportive and expert instructors and the wonderful sense of community they provide with their members, who are all friendly and down to earth. At this gem of a gym, you are NOT a number. You are always greeted hello and asked after every workout how things went. Being a member at Jiva feels like you are part of a family. The instructors are SO knowledgeable and caring, and most importantly, make the workouts really fun! There are also so many different classes to choose from, and they provide workshops and other events to keep members engaged. Another great benefit is the instructors will offer lots of tips for folks who need adjustments. If, for instance, someone struggles with shoulder or back injuries, they will ALWAYS give alternate exercises. I believe a gym like this is a rare find and I am so grateful it's in my hometown! XO

I learned some amazing stuff. I am a dancer and actor but had never tried aerial before. This was a unique experience and the teacher Karen is great. Detailed personal attention and care with new students. There were a few more experienced aerialists and she integrated us so well. Was partnering with others on bungee and on the wall by the end of the first day! She really was able to connect with all skill levels. Cannot say enough about this wonderful company and teacher, sign up for classes and see their shows whenever you get the chance. I live in London but I will definitely take a class again when I go back to NYC! I don't know if they have classes for kids but they should!

Linda's flex classes will exceed your expectations and help you release any doubts that you are not capable of GREATNESS. The instructors at studio air want you to succeed and grow. The 1:1 support here is unmatched and makes you feel comfortable to show your weaknesses so that the instructor can tell you exactly what you can work on to master the skill. It is a little confusing where you're supposed to enter, but it's in the back of a church and the entrance is in the back. When I first arrived-- about 10 mins early-- the door was locked. I waited awhile and some other people showed up and started going in. I appreciated as a first-time participant that I was just invited to join right in, that there wasn't a huge fuss made over me or my safety. I was strapped into the bungee and invited to try it out to get the hang of it. The class was fun and challenging, but doable. It was a great workout and I really enjoyed it. But while I didn't want to be the center of attention as a newcomer, I would have liked some more guidance along the way. Instead, it was very clear that the other class attendees knew each other, and the instructor, very well. It felt a little exclusive and hard to join. The instructor didn't speak to me from the time I got into the harness until the class was over. I felt like I was intruding on a close community. That's the only reason my review is four, not five stars. If it had felt more welcoming, I'd be eager to go back, but as is, the drive is too long to go back for such a cold environment. Still, I do wish there was something like this much closer to me!

We made the assumption that they may not be open, and we decided to call back an hour before and leave a message stating that we are unable to make it and asking if there was any way we could refund or reschedule the class. 10 minutes before the class was about to begin (we are located 45 minutes away) We received a rude and unprofessional text stating that there was no snow near her, and we would not be receiving any refund. After trying to mitigate the situation, we received multiple more rude texts and then no response. Today, one week later, we received a text about a class scheduled for the next day. Due to the absolute lack of communication, we had no previous knowledge of this class. When I called to ask what this new class scheduled was, I was met with extreme rudeness and was cursed out. All my communication was with Tia, I had tried to speak to her with respect and figure out the situation, but it was clear that she had zero customer service skills.
