we have been without air conditioning since Sunday... it is Thu after 3 a service guy came out wed said blower was out would call us Thu am for payment. this Trane was installed by them in 21 and should be under warranty, its not because they failed to do there part!!! failed!!! called Bruce Thorton last night, they are here and verified no warranty was filled it is also not the blower!! absolutely never do business with absolute!!!! horrible company!!!! It's been 90 degrees in my house for 5 days, I had surgery tue.... They can't even call back with a time to show up?? Absolute Refrigeration came to us as a service call for our home warranty company. They ran no diagnostic tests to determine what problems were actually present with our system. Instead, the technician who came to our house attempted to up sell us to a bigger unit and submitted to our warranty company information that he couldn't possibly know without taking our unit apart. This resulted in a denial with our warranty company based on reports that could not have been factual given that he never even touched our condenser unit. In my opinion, this company is not trustworthy and appears to be working in bad faith as the technician spent more time attempting to sell us a new unit than examining our condenser unit. If I could give this company a negative score, I would do so. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

1/5 -- We needed a second opinion, not a sales presentation A technician from Absolute came to our home through American Home Shield after we requested a second opinion on our AC claim. He was fully aware that this was a home-warranty service call and that we were seeking an independent second opinion after AHS denied our claim. We also happen to carry two home warranties and were comparing the coverage each company would provide for the same AC failure. Unfortunately, our experience with Absolute felt much more like receiving a sales lead than receiving an independent diagnostic evaluation. During the visit, the technician told us we "might" get approved for a replacement through AHS, but characterized what AHS might provide as essentially builder-grade and said it would "only be enough to get the job done." He then spent approximately 20-30 minutes discussing why we should purchase a larger/upgraded system instead. We felt obligated to sit through an extensive sales presentation while waiting for what we thought was supposed to be a second diagnostic opinion. What makes this particularly frustrating is what happened afterward. A day or two later, while the temperature inside our home was around 90 degrees, I contacted Absolute because we hadn't received an update. I was eventually told that the technician had placed our claim "on hold" because he was "waiting to hear back from us" and "knew our claim was going to be denied." That was incredibly upsetting. If the technician believed from his visit that our warranty claim would be denied, we should have been told. Instead, we spent additional days believing a second-opinion determination was being processed while apparently the contractor was waiting to see whether we would purchase equipment. We weren't sitting in a 90-degree house trying to decide whether to buy an upgraded AC from Absolute. We were comparing coverage between two home warranty companies. When I explained this to the office, the conversation became defensive, and I repeatedly had to make clear that we were not purchasing an AC system from Absolute. We ultimately contacted our other home warranty company and told them to proceed. They had already approved our condenser replacement and immediately moved the process forward. The most frustrating part is that we had a backup option. Absolute's handling of this second-opinion visit contributed to approximately another week without working AC when we could have simply proceeded with our already-approved replacement. I really feel for homeowners who don't have that option. Most people don't maintain two home warranties. When someone's AC is out during a Texas summer, they're depending on the dispatched contractor to diagnose the equipment and promptly report the findings to the warranty company. A home-warranty service call should not leave the homeowner wondering whether the priority was completing an independent diagnosis or converting the service call into an equipment sale. Thankfully, we had another warranty company and another path forward. We will not use Absolute for our replacement. read more

They have responded to three service calls under American Home Shield and have not performed any service. They might be a value outside of using AMERICAN HOME SHIELD, but not when acting as their agent. read more

This company is pretty much useless! I called them twice to find out when they were coming. They said they were scheduling and would call me back by the end of the day! It's 9:00pm and I haven't heard anything. They didn't seem to care if my house was 90 degrees inside. I finally had to figure it out myself because my dogs were getting way to hot!! WHOEVER THE OWNER IS THEY HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!!! Absolute Refrigeration HVAC COST ME $2,600.00 OUT OF POCKET!!! THESE FOLKS DON'T EVEN DESERVE "1-STAR"!!!. As soon as those females that answered the phone it begins.. rude as snot, short, terse, rushed, impatient.., zero professionalism. I wished I'd wrote down names so I could post them. So these females sent incomplete information to the home warranty company, and, from that point on 12/22/19 for the next 9 days we went without heat during the coldest days of the holidays. Space heater eventually cannot keep up. THEY DRUG THEIR FEET TO THE POINT THAT IF I DIDN'T CALL THEM THEY DID NOTHING!!! I got NOT ONE apology from them. I finally heard from them "after" $2,600 was paid to someone else. You can use them if you want, but you better hope EVERYTHING goes smoothly because Absolute HVAC will leave you hanging, ABSOLUTELY. Scammers! They attempted to charge me $1300 on top of what my home warranty was covering they had a list of items that was supposedly needed for the home warranty company and trying to get $1300 from me. I had a second opinion from another company they repaired it for my $75 deductible nothing more, on top of that the same 2 techs for absolute heating went to my mothers home her heater wasn't heating they gave her a line of bull that didn't sound right and was charging her $1900 to correct it and charging the home warranty company as well. I hired another guy to inspect the furnace, the pilot was out he lit it and inspected the unit for $80 checked ok been working perfect ever since. read more

After calling five times in one day (this office directly, not my home warranty company) and being given the runaround every time, Gabby finally called me back only to tell me that my initial call with Nathan never happened. Really? Then, where did the employees (Lindsay, Tyenie, etc.) get my information to give to me unprompted for the 2nd call onward? Still, no one showed, despite being promised by Nathan Amador that he would put "an emergency rush" on my request for a broken air conditioner to be repaired during record heat (110-113 degrees this summer) and because of my health issues. According to Gabby, no one would be coming out until they could get me on the schedule...whenever that would be. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. EDIT: Take your business to Gibson Plumbing. Heating & Air Conditioning instead. Their integrity, professionalism, thoroughness, friendliness, and pricing are unbeatable. So we have 2 homes under AHS warranty. Absolute came to service both homes, for the first home the repair guy, automatically said I need a new ac, even though the one I have now, is less than a year old. Reason being, was because the ac is a cheap one. He gave me all the details regarding financing and that AHS would put $2,000 towards the purchase of a new ac. On our other home, Absolute wasn't able to fix the repairs either. But they did give us all the information about the special financing for the purchase of a new AC. It seems to me that Absolute is not willing to work with homes that have warranty, but if you are paying for a brand new ac, then they will definitely treat you different. Their goal is to sell air conditioners not fix them. Very disappointed in their customer service. By the way, we called another AC company and they were able to fix our ac. We also only paid less than $300. We saved $10,000!! Now that's customer service! read more

We started using Absolute after our warranty company sent them out to repair what the 1st company they sent damaged. I think some of the reviews on this page are really issues with the warranty company and not Absolute. Gabby in the office returns calls promptly and is very professional and friendly on the phone. Nathan has been our tech the last couple of times we had issues and is very professional and friendly. We called them on a Thursday and they had us up and running by Friday early afternoon. I can say that Absolute is now our go to company with or without warranty for all of our AC and Heating needs. I highly recommend them! read more

I would not use these guys again but it's the only one my home owners insurance will let me use. Their tech came out yesterday to look at my down heater. They said It was due to the blower motor down and they'd have to send a report to my insurance company to order the part. Well that never happened and I've already called their dispatch twice and they said both times a tech would call me back shortly and still nothing. If you don't going without heat for extended periods of time in freezing temperatures then go with these guys. They'll make you feel like you're just a number. read more

One of the WORST companies to deal with. Our air conditioner broke at the BEGINNING of summer and we just now got it fixed. RONDA is very rude and sucks at customer service. She told both my husband and me they would post date our check but put it in anyway When I called to ask why it went through she said she didn't recall ever talking to us. Being the voice and the first person you talk to RONDA might want to change her attitude towards customers. She has yelled at us many times and also lied to us. Worst company ever! read more

Ahhhh! Where to begin? . Thanks to our home warranty company we are stuck using this "company" at the moment. These people came out a few weeks ago because my 75 year old mothers AC unit was freezing over. The added freon and said to call back should we still have the same problem of it freezing over because there could be a leak. Fast forward to this past weekend. It froze over several times! So my husband calls them back out. The lady that answers the phone told my husband we'd be the FIRST appointment this past Monday morning. However, she also said she'd call him back that day to confirm but never did. After many phone calls to them Monday (once to give them my number as my husband was traveling) they finally showed up after 8 pm! They said they called - they did- but not my number as asked! These two men have NO clue that their company he just been out and added freon. Told me there was a sticker from another company. Then looks at us and says it's perfectly fine just that our filter was dirty. Mind you they were also checking on our other unit and said I needed to buy a Trane for about $9000. I do know that's one of the most expense ones out there. I'm no fool. But somehow he get it to work without us needing to buy a new one. And they left. Not 13 hours after that, and the new filter I put in, it froze over again! And maybe 4 times after that. They didn't come back yesterday as they were too busy and here we are TWO days later at 8:31pm and still no sign of them. We've called. STAY AS FAR WAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AS YOU CAN! This is a story about how Absolute tried to scam American Home Shield and left us without A/C for a month. On June 23, 2022 my A/C stopped working. I put in a work order with AHS. Absolute came out the next day. Great. Prompt service. They said I needed a new fan blower motor. They then informed me that they couldn't get the motor and had to let AHS handle it. AHS put me on parts ordered status on June 28, 2022. On July 11, 2022 AHS called me and said that Absolute would receive the motor on or around July 19, 2022. On July 21, 2022 after almost a month of no A/C I called another A/C company to come and look at my A/C. The tech opened the cover and noticed the capacitor was missing. He went in his truck got another one. He connected it and boom A/C working. He said there was nothing wrong with the fan blower motor. So I came to the conclusion that what Absolute did was lie and say it was the fan motor because AHS would not pay a lot to replace a capacitor. Repairing a fan motor would. And like some of the other posters here the whole time the tech was here he was trying to convince me to buy a new A/C and of course I would be getting 2k after paying 8k for a new A/C. Absolute was our home warranty's second choice contractor as the 1st company couldn't come out for a week. I called them on a Monday and they were out Tues morning. We both agreed that the 26 yr old unit we had was worn out. Our home warranty company wouldn't pay to replace the worn out parts because they were still barely working. I purchased a new unit from Absolute, they came out the very next day and 4 guys made sure we had a/c before we went to bed. The unit was soo powerful that they came back the next day and installed a second return in our house. They made sure that I was completely knowledgeable of our new system and made sure I had no questions. They also kept emphasizing that if ANYTHING goes wrong, do not hesitate to ask. We had Absolute install a new system. Along with the new system we were supposed to receive a "free" vent. I have no complaints about the new system, it works great but when it came time to have the "free" vent installed they conveniently did not schedule the appointment to put it in and frankly seem to have no intention of making good on a promise they made. read more
