Mike and his crew helped replace our old and decrepit deck with a concrete brick paver patio…read more Throughout the whole process, they were a joy to work with. Not only was their price very reasonable (it came in between two other quotes), Mike also took his time to explain what to look for in a paver patio and what design elements would fit our vision. He also educated us on the installation process of the patio from the very beginning. Once the construction started, it went much quicker than we had expected. And throughout the process, Mike continued to communicate with us changes that needed to be made based on the elevation of our yard. He always gave us choices on the changes, and we often consulted him on the better choice. Because we were working from home, we were able to observe Mike and his crew working on the patio. It was very clear that Mike took great care with the little details to make the patio perfect. Based on the similar care his crew members showed, it was clear that Mike also imparted the importance of quality work to them. Work quality aside, Mike was also wonderful and respectful from the first time we talked. When we first met, he was kind enough to wear a mask when he saw that I was also wearing a mask. I truly appreciated his understanding in my desire to keep myself and family safe. I also appreciate his effort in learning to pronounce and use my name - it's not something that other contractors even attempted. My wife also enjoyed talking to Mike. Specifically, she appreciated that Mike treated her and I with the same amount of respect. Her experience with most contractors is often unpleasant because they would talk around her or dismiss her questions or suggestions. Mike, however, listened to her input and respected her decisions. We are very satisfied with the result, and more important, we enjoyed our interactions with Mike throughout the entire process of the project. In fact, we have already started talking to Mike about returning at a later time to landscape our front lawn. We would highly recommend MAC Landscaping and Design to anyone wanting someone who values quality workmanship and a pleasant work relationship.

The back is a huge deck with a small yard. Raking leaves is tough and not super pleasant with this terrain. After struggling with multiple bags of leaves last year (getting soaked in the rain and falling apart to boot), my beau and I decided that we wanted nothing to do with this blasted leaf thing so I started poking around to hire someone to take care of it for us. Enter--TJ's Lawn Care! I sent them a note and asked for an estimate. He wrote me back immediately and, after a drive by of my property, sent me a totally reasonable price. We set up a tentative time and a crew of about 5 dudes rolled up with industrial blowers and took care of the mounds of leaves in about 15-20 minutes. They moved all the leaves to the a huge pile by the curb and the next morning a truck with an industrial mulcher rolled up to the curb and sucked those babies up. The lawn looked neat and tidy and we didn't have to touch a rake or a mound of wet leaves. It was perfect and worth every penny. A bill was left and I was able to quickly pay online. Easy peasy! You'd better believe I'll be using them every year. The ease and quality of service is completely worth the price.

Written from a customer who has worked with Garrett Landscape Development for a few years on…read morevarious projects. I really wanted to give this business a phenomenal review, but after taking time to reflect on my experience, I unfortunately cannot. My 3 star explanation follows: 1st Star - the owner Scott Garrett comes out to give you an estimate. He is personable and does a thorough job. The estimate is also itemized, so you can see exactly what you are being charged for. This felt much more honest than having an arbitrary number handed to you. 2nd Star - we have spent approximately 40K on landscaping with Garrett over the last few years and most of the work has been stellar. In July 2019 we had a major project done to our driveway where it was extended approximately 5.5 feet on both sides with brick pavers. We have a large driveway and the job turned out fantastic. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the brick work for as long as we own our home. They stand by their brick work and that says a lot. 3rd Star - the crews sent were great. They were professional, worked diligently from 8 am - 5 pm, cleaned up every day, and did a wonderful job. No loud music, no littering, no sloppiness etc. Very respectful and hard working. Why I removed 2 Stars: 1st Star Removed - the large driveway project literally started an entire year after it was supposed to. It went from starting in July 2018 to being pushed back until July 2019. Garrett initially ordered different brick pavers from a company other than the one my husband and I signed off on. It was not an issue to get the original / correct pavers, but it pushed the job back. Other factors- not on our part, also kept pushing the job. We were patient and understanding, however it was an inconvenience (trips postponed, multiple parties scheduled around when the job was supposed to be completed but hadn't even begun, etc). 2nd Star Removed - the large driveway project took longer than what they estimated and as a result a smaller job that was part of the bill was completed in a sub par manner. We were supposed to have a "decorative boulder wall" created near one corner of our house, and what we received was not my idea of a boulder wall. We received approximately 10 rocks, sized 12" tall X 12-15" wide, set down around an already cleaned, existing bed, with mulch tossed on top. We were charged $1495 for something that truthfully, I could have done myself in an hours time (I already had the bed weeded, cleaned and prepped). I feel that since the main driveway project went over the time they estimated it would take, the "decorative boulder wall" was disregarded and we were shortchanged on it. It was such an upsetting way to end the working relationship I thought I had cultivated with Garrett. In the end, I feel that being patient and understanding didn't fare well and that being firm and more assertive would have yielded better results.
