The very basics: they use the wrong jewelry (consistently!) and are overall just incredibly uncomfortable to be around. Go to icon, or just about anywhere else. It has been a while since I originally got pierced here, and I have had so many issues. 3/5 of the piercings I got here ended up having issues that did not fully show up until later, after I had already decided not to come again because of one particularly bad experience. My helix was pierced with a butterfly back that was the wrong gauge. Because of this, it A) would not even start to heal until changing it, and B) has been very hard to find the right jewelry for since what was used isn't the right gauge for a cartilage piercing. Again, this was an issue I wasn't initially aware of. A while later I got my daith done, which was alright, but pierced with a curved barbell which I have since learned is not correct. I got my conch pierced, which was when I KNEW it was very wrong. The man who did it used a curved barbell. I ended up having to go to icon to get the jewelry changed. HIGHLY recommend them as they are very kind and professional. They told me that they had many previous issues with people getting piercings from absolute ink fixed. The people at absolute ink (specifically the men) are incredibly uncomfortable to be around too. Lilly was very nice, but that is not worth terribly pierced ears. read more

POSTING HERE BECAUSE ABSOLUTE DELETED IT FROM GOOGLE I went into Absolute Ink with two friends about a week ago. My friend "A" wanted to get her nipples pierced. I got my lobes/nostril done, and my friend "H" got her lobes done too. I had been here previously (2020) and got my nipples pierced by Jade. I encouraged A to come here, since I knew Jade mentored the piercer Lilly. A went first, and told Lilly that other piercers had denied her the piercing due to anatomy. Lilly took one look and said it was "no problem" to do the piercing. She got everything set up and told A that she would pierce one nipple, then the other before her adrenaline ran out. H and I both watched her pierce the first one, then wait to pierce the second until AFTER A said she was coming down from the high. She left the tubes in both nipples and waited to put in the jewelry, causing more stress to A. (A 5 minute piercing took Lilly 30 minutes) She pierced both of A's nipples THROUGH THE BASE OF THE AREOLA!!!!!! The lobes and nostrils were done fairly successfully (though she lied about the jewelry being implant grade, and used the **SAME PIERCING CLAMP** on all three of us). A inquired about the jewelry, and Lilly STILL put EXTERNALLY THREADED jewelry in her nipples. The entire time...Lilly talked poorly about SEVERAL other shops and their work. She said no one in the body mod community liked her. She bashed apprentices as a whole, and even negatively commented on an artist that has tattooed H and I SEVERAL times. That day I paid for 7 piercings ($280) + $25 cash in jewelry + $70 cash tip to Lilly. On top of the trauma A suffered, Lilly would not refund the money, and cited a no refund clause. There is also a clause in the contract that states that Absolute uses the best techniques and materials. Absolute did NOT uphold their end of the contract. I reached out to Lilly, hoping to reach some sort for resolution, and she responded once, but has since ignored my messages. She knows she's unqualified and I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't have a piercing certification. This is an ASSAULT. Misinformation and malpractice to the highest degree. I paid for a gift for my friend that caused her trauma, and she had to get it removed the next day. She now has to wait to heal. I'm out the money, so she won't get the piercings she's wanted for years either way. This is the grossest piercer I have ever met. Her lack of personal/professional hygiene and morality lead me to NEVER RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE. Her sour breath only matches her sour heart, and that's why she's stuck at Absolute. I went to Absolute Ink 6 months ago and got my helix and my conch pierced. On the positive side, everything was done clean and painless and my piercer, Lilly, was very nice. Although, another worker was not as nice and constantly made fun of me and my friends and made rude remarks. Also, over the past 6 months I've had nothing but issues with my piercings. They have been constantly swollen, painful, and leaking blood and fluids with open wounds. I began to wonder if I was allergic to titanium, which is what they pierced me with, because I had been very good about cleaning them and following all of the rules. I ended up going to a more reputable piercing shop and they said that the earrings were not pure titanium and that they were pierced with the wrong jewelry all together. At Absolute Ink I was falsely told they were implant grade titanium and they were butterfly backs (they should not of been). Thankfully, I got better jewelry put in them and hopefully they heal soon (shoutout Icon Body Piercing). Overall, this place was a huge waste of money and cost me many months of pain. I decided to wait 34 years to get my first tattoo, after two years of thinking about it. I finally decided to get a tattoo of my three cats (thus confirming I may be a cat lady like everyone says). My boyfriend's co-worker did the art and I made an appointment with Josh Adams, whose Instagram I have been following for a year. Josh was really awesome. He was very nice, seemed professional, and asked me questions about my cats. He said the drawing I'd sent him was a good composition for where the tattoo was placed, my inner forearm, and nothing about the art needed to be changed. He even started small to see if I would be able to take the discomfort (I was, hooray for not being a wimp!) Not long into the tattoo, I mentioned I also in the future want to get a sleeve of Disney cats and noticed he has done Disney tattoos. He told me he has a client that comes in and gets exclusively Disney tattoos (some of which I have seen on Instagram) so he was quite comfortable. After my tattoo was done, he explained the proper care. The price was exactly what I expected. It was all a great experience for a first time tattoo and I'm looking forward to getting Disney cat tattoos from him. And maybe Haunted Mansion? I love Disney, guys. P.S. There are a lot better tattoo parlors that won't try to upcharge you. Went to get an $80 tattoo and was immediately BEGGED to pay more. Pitifully enough, Ronnie, one of the artists, couldn't even stay in the lines. Most the artists just sat in the back tugging on their THC carts, stinking up the place, probably an excuse to take so long as well. When doing permanent artwork on people a clear, focused mind of an artist is an extraordinary thing to bare witness to. However, it seems the only thing ABSOLUTE about this place is the bad name it gives the industry. Thankfully, I gave Electric Peach a ring and they were up front with the pricing, %63 cheaper and the line work is far more incredible, and CREDIBLE than artists at this eyesore. read more

I went to a different piercer today at a different shop to have a second look and was told not only did the piercer pierce my belly button wrong it was crooked as well. I called and spoke with the manger to my concern about how I wasted $40 to end with nothing. I've only had my piercing for only a week due to an unprofessional piercer not knowing what he was doing. I was recommended to see Jacob by another tattoo artist, so I contacted Jacob and paid the deposit and he never showed up on our first appt. which Is 1 hour away from me, maybe I should've take that as a sign to not get my tattoo there. He did msg me the next day saying that he was sick which I said it was okay, life happens. We booked again for another day, and the appt. was at 3pm he showed up at 4pm and we only started around 8pm to 4 am, I have never been to a shop that I have to wait 4hrs to start after having an appt. booked. Anyways he was really nice, and do an amazing job but extremely slow, he does take his time. That night I left with two flowers and only one was colored and it took him 6.5 hrs. Went home really upset thinking that I was going to have way more tattoo done for the price. I went back for my second appt. and again the appt. was at 4pm and we only started 11pm to 5am, which I still don't get it the reason why. Anyways I did mention to him to please do as much as he could do, because I did not have much more money left and I wanted my tattoo to look like a tattoo, which he was like I won't promise but I will try my best. And after 4.5 hrs all I had done was less than 1/3 of a waterfall, and he did said that he is slow now and that he likes to take his time, and that he used to be quick in the past. He's work is very detailed and very good, but paying $1300 for two unfinished flowers and some rocks was not what I was expecting. I went in for a tragus piercing change. Nothing crazy. I was having some issues with it healing and asked the man for advice and to help me change it. He spoke over me the entire time in attempt to be funny but I found it to be extremely rude as I was trying to voice my genuine concerns and gain advice from him. He mentioned having a weird kink or something with liking to see people in pain?? Idk why he said it to me. He took the original piercing out and it hurt. I didn't mind that it hurt, I expected it to, but I said "ow ow" and he said "oh are you gonna cry?" He was mocking me. I asked him to please tell me if the piercing that I brought was too small length wise for proper healing and cleaning and that if it was that I was willing to purchase jewelry there no problem. He put it in and I asked him if it was too small. He said once again that it was fine. He didn't give me a mirror and said that I was worried for nothing, and that I was all done. I got to my car and the jewelry was way too small and my skin was beginning to swell around the piercing. There was absolutely no room for sweeping or any room to clean it. I called another piercing place and went immediately over there. They put jewelry in and let me look at it and make sure it was good. Specifically for Hayden. I waited until much later in life to get my ink done. I am very specific and picky but I realize everything in the ink world has the influence and mark of the artist. Was very surprised when I tried to book an appointment the length of wait time. But considering how long I waited for my first I (correctly assumed) the wait was worth it. I guess in the grand scheme of things I wouldn't want an artist that wasn't in demand (or worse offering a SALE). Hayden came highly recommended and I liked his style. Funny considering my first tat was just text. (In Latin across my chest) So happy with his work and attitude I enlisted his help again for my second piece. This one required serious fine detail and some artistic interpretation. Hayden did not disappoint. I just want to start off and say, the atmosphere was amazing. I loved being there! I love the artist I got, I followed her on Instagram for almost a year and I wanted one by her so bad. I told her to take creative complete creative liberty with my tat, I just wanted a phrase with a semi colon the rest was up to her. All she did was print off a font and lazily threw a semi colon beside it. She was really rude to my boyfriend and she was cold towards me. It was my first experience getting a tattoo and I feel like it was ruined because the experience was just negative. Not to mention, she Saran wrapped by arm and taped it. I spent $100 for two words and a semi colon she printed off the web. I'm just sad because I already need a touch up and it's not original like I thought it would be. I trusted Jacob "Chip" Rutz to permanently cover up an old tattoo on my chest. Just 2 weeks after the cover up, the old was was showing through. I sent him a picture of the old one showing through. Jacob would not get me in without making an appointment almost 2 months out. Low and behold, he messaged me (morning of appointment) that he was sick. I told him I would send a message when I woke up (work nights) because I couldn't make the 12 o'clock time he wanted. When I woke up, I sent him a message. He would not reply. When I sarcastically thanked him for his reply, he said, "I'm tattooing. I don't really sit around waiting for text messages to respond to". (Rutz). Steer clear. There is NO customer service here. I now have a tattoo with the old one shining through. He went on to say, "I'm not going to argue with you. I told you the time I could get u in. That didn't work for you. I am sure everyone at Absolute Ink is great, but this review is specifically for Josh Adams. I was looking to walk into a shop on a specific date and get something very meaningful done and was turned away from another shop in murfreesboro this same night. I walked into Absolute Ink and was lucky enough to meet Josh and made time for me and was able to accomplish what I needed in a very reasonable amount of time. Yes it seems that he is very technically knowledgeable about what he does, but I am mostly writing this review b/c of his ability to educate me as I was getting my first tattoo and also on his education of home care. I am lucky to have found this shop and now have a home for all of my future work! Thanks Josh! read more
