Generated at most 1-2 gallons of debris during the cleaning but claimed it was illegal for him to take it and dispose of it. Local PA DEP office said there is no special regulation for oil fired residential chimney buildup material. The worst was he forgot to reinstall one of the chimney pipe support straps. Called him within one hour of leaving and notified him by phone message but he could not be bothered to call back or return. Luckily, owner noticed it and reinstalled himself.

Yes my insurance company knows about it, and I submit my receipts to them. This year we decided to try Spring Hill instead of our usual company. Huge mistake. The technician spent the better part of my appointment telling me how shocked he is that my home has insurance because my wood stove is from the 1800s. He kept recommending I "update" it, and when I asked what that even meant he said replace it of course. He actually had the nerve to ask me how to clean it. Seriously? He vacuumed it. Checked out the chimney and this cost nearly $200. He also told me that "much bigger, nicer homes than mine have had to upgrade their stoves, and that I'm lucky." My stove has been in my home since 1972, and it works perfectly. Complete and total waste of time. I will absolutely be going back to my previous company. I was so upset after he left I called and asked for a supervisor. I was told someone would call me back the next day. To add insult to injury, no supervisor ever even bothered to call. How completely unprofessional! If I can save one person from dealing with this company I will be happy.
