It was the only company that had a supervisor periodically visit to observe firsthand how things were going. Plus, it was reassuring to know that an RN oversees the caregivers. The caregiver placed with my dad, Alisha W., was truly amazing. She was extremely patient and upbeat when faced with challenging circumstances. She had such a great attitude and went above and beyond, whether it was taking him on fun outings, staying late to take him to a doctor's appointment (even when I said no problem to send him home in a taxi), or noticing when he had a new medical issue that needed attention. She was able to establish rapport and a meaningful relationship with him when most of his other relationships fell away due to his condition. She even managed to make him feel comfortable using some personal care products for the first time, which was quite a feat.I feel so lucky to have Alisha in my dad's life! The equipment arrived on time. The representative was pleasant and professional. I am a nurse myself and was pleased on how smoothly the process went. My father transitioned to Hospice and the nurses were there to support us every step of the way. I slept on the couch to be by my father, one of the nurses saw that I hadn't really slept in a week. She brought in a night nurse so that could go home and try to get some rest. The night nurse was amazing. She encouraged my mother and I to get some rest and she would wake my mom with any changes. And as life would have it, my father passed away peacefully early that morning the same time I woke up to go back. The night nurse was so good to my father in those last hours. Her compassion for my family will always remain in my heart. Constellation is really a great agency. I was sad to read some of the negative reviews on here. Expectations and emotions run high in times like this. We always think that no one can take better care of our family member better than we can but the reality is, we cannot do it alone. Constellation helped us keep my father in the comfort of his own home and he passed the manner that one can only hope for; comfortable and peaceful. He did not suffer. I will always be grateful to Constellation for the great care my father and family received during this time. They are truly Earth Angels

It turned out to be a nightmare. After 3 days, we were told they needed to discharge him because he did not meet "Medicare criteria" for in patient hospice. Within six days, we had plans for the move to a freestanding facility. My husband passed away the night before the move was to take place. The day before the move was to take place, Hospice in Branford called to make arrangement to move him to their facility and that he "met the criteria". This experience was traumatizing to me and my family. I would discourage anyone from using this organization for their loved one.

I stopped by here to pay my final respects to my ex's father. Based on what I heard from the…read morefamily, the doctors and nurses took excellent care of him during his final days. He spent the last week of his life here and was treated with dignity, care, and respect. I noticed that the hospital staff (or volunteers) had crochet butterflies with a short prayer attached to them. The butterflies were placed on his pillow and chest. He looked peaceful. The receptionist at the front desk was sweet and pleasant. She took a photo of all visitors for the temporary badge. The hospice is located in a very peaceful setting, overlooking Long Island Sound. This was actually America's first hospice. The interior was a bit outdated, but the outside view was beautiful and serene. Rest In Peace, David Kniess.

CT Hospice sells you an in-home care package which is inconsistent…read more My parent has been under their care for almost 90 days. The Aide service is inconsistent. Out of the 3 months, the Aide was here 10 times. When questioned, I was told there was a problem. My parent had no Aide for the entire month of September. When she became in-patient, giving me Respite, I was contacted 3 days in a row. I was asked questions on how to handle my parent. Isn't this Hospice? Shouldn't they know how to handle a dementia patient???? The nurse schedule changes, no consistency. I'm so disappointed in the non-services of CT Hospice.
