I needed a front spindle-knuckle for my 96 Chevy Lumina van as the ball joint hole was worn and let the joint stud wobble. I found many for sale on-line, at out of state sites, but I thought I would try to stay local if possible. Contacted Absolute Auto Salvage, their web site showed they had the part but to call for a price. Called, was quoted a price of $50 but the guy (who wouldn't give his name) said I should stop by and he would go out in the yard and check that the part wasn't too rusty and was ok for sale.
The next day put my van back together, drive over there and they tell me they don't have the part. Mentioned that the part was still on their web site and that I had been quoted a price the day before but it made no difference. "Don't have the part" (just like a record), he didn't even ask anyone else in the office if they had talked to me. I won't waste my time going there again. read more
