Dr. Lorefice also belittled and gaslighted me and was condescending, invalidating, and dismissive, often adopting a tone more appropriate for a therapist, even though he is not one. It was the most vile appointment I've ever had with a psychiatrist. I began advocating for myself in response to his condescending and invalidating tone, but the consultation still took a troubling turn toward the end. In what I believed to be a confidential medical setting, I disclosed that I live in an emotionally abusive household. Despite the sensitive nature of this information, Dr. Lorefice asked if he could ask my mother (who drove me only because I am recovering from stomach surgery and could not drive at the moment) a few questions after asking me some. I agreed, assuming he intended to ask general health questions or discuss logistics. However, once she entered the room, he proceeded to tell my mom, in front of me, that I said that there was emotional abuse happening at home as well as his personal opinions of my situation after asking her questions about me. I was shocked and deeply distressed by this disclosure, which left me feeling exposed and unsafe in both the appointment and my home environment. This disclosure was not only a breach of my confidentiality and HIPAA protections, but also an action that could have seriously endangered my emotional and physical safety at home. As an adult (24 years old), my health information is protected under the HIPAA, which prohibits covered entities from disclosing protected health information (PHI) without explicit, informed consent. This incident has led me to question how many other patients may have been placed in similarly unsafe situations by Dr. Lorefice's actions. I find this conduct to be deeply inappropriate and dangerous, and I believe this review is important to warn people that he is not professional and was in fact harmful to me.

Dr. Straun was always accommodating for my needs, and truly helped me get my life back on track. He provided support for my recovery and also helped immensely with a legal issue by providing supporting documentation, which was one of the most pivotal supports ive ever had and ultimately allowed me to continue with my treatment and improve my life. THe entire team was very supportive and went out of their way on occasion to get me the help and support I needed. Most times dealing with larger clinics or facilities can be a pain, they are not as efficient or concerned as they should be, and this can be detrimental to a persons recovery. Dr. Straun's clinic was anything but that, and provided a deep sense of community where everyone was equally involved in group therapy sessions. I felt that Mr. Straun and his team not only developed a professional and clinical relationship with me, but also a personal one. This is what makes a good psychiatrist stand out, their relationship with their patients and how involved they truly are in their recovery or treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Straun to anyone seeking treatment for addiction or mental health, and that Dr. Straun will not just help you by prescribing medication ( like some doctors), but by also focusing on the underlying factors such as mental health or past trauma with a specific treatment plan. If you want to feel part of a larger community and support group, Dr. Straun and his team are the perfect choice to help you begin your treatment and find a way to recovery with people that truly care about your well-being.

He really worked with me when my insurance hadn't kicked in yet because his chef concern was me and my condition and not money. That description of him is very accurate. He is without a doubt the best doctor I have ever dealt with. The attention you get from him is outstanding. My experience with Dr. Brian Pell deserves to be publicly documented so others know exactly what…read morethey are walking into. I booked an appointment specifically for an ADHD assessment, clearly stated as such. That was the entire purpose of the visit. Yet, during the call, Dr. Pell casually informed me that they are not conducting ADHD assessments at this time and may resume, possibly in January or February of next year. This immediately raised a red flag: if you are not offering the service, why accept an appointment for it? Why bill insurance for something you never intended to provide? The entire interaction lasted 18 minutes, and not a single part of it resembled an evaluation. Instead, we spent the bulk of the time discussing my career. He asked about my former psychiatrist's nationality; he seemed very interested in why he didn't take insurance "as a Black doctor" (which I perceive as a common conflation between race and poverty). He then asked only two quick, surface-level questions about why I was seeking an ADHD assessment. Then in the same breath that he told me they are not doing assessments, he also told me that I probably do not have ADHD. He said this despite the fact that I was coming to him for a second opinion after already completing a comprehensive, legitimate ADHD evaluation with a diagnosis from an actual specialist. (I did not share I was coming in for a second opinion, as I didn't want it to be biased). He provided no testing, no structured questions, no clinical methodology, nothing that even remotely resembled evidence-based practice. The whole thing felt dismissive, and frankly, like a complete waste of my time. I left the appointment feeling misled and deeply uncomfortable, as insurance had been billed for a service that was never delivered. If you are seeking serious mental health care, diagnostic clarity, or responsible clinical practice, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This experience felt unhelpful and entirely out of alignment with what any patient should expect from a licensed provider.
