Best Psychiatrist. I have struggled to find a good psychiatrist over the years. She blows them all away.

She infantilized me constantly, acted like I was a liar, and interrogated everything I said as if she could not take me seriously due to the fact that she thought I'd exaggerated or falsified my r*pe. She even used the fact that my r*pist didn't admit it (in an official capacity) as evidence that it didn't happen, implying that since my University didn't hold him responsible for that specifically, it couldn't possibly be true. When I tried to explain to her the Title IX disciplinary process and why it was nearly impossible to get him to admit to it officially on paper, she began to argue with me as if I was crazy--I was literally arguing with this woman over whether or not I was r*ped, as if she was in the room when it happened or knew what she was talking about. I doubt she would know the definition of affirmative consent if asked, or what the consent acronym FRIES stands for, because she was so grossly lacking in knowledge on the subject and went out of her way to cause me psychological harm when a trained and educated professional should do nothing of the sort. Whenever I was visibly upset in session, either by something she said or by the immense trauma and loss I was dealing with, she would instantly dismiss me and make me feel like I was inappropriate for getting emotional (during a MENTAL HEALTH VISIT after a painfully life-altering, negatively impactful experience). She would consistently attempt to tell me that she knew exactly how I was feeling when that was (clearly) far from the case, labeling my feelings for me and seemingly implying that they were not valid; she'd try to guilt me and say things like "you're upset now, you're angry at me, you're yelling, let's talk about something else," quite literally changing the subject from my emotional displays--which she incorrectly assumed were directed at her personally--to another subject as if I could switch off my feelings, or as if that would make me feel better and forget about the harm I was facing. COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She also put me on drugs that made me significantly more depressed, irritable, and debilitated. She said to my face that what happened to me "wasn't a full r*pe" because I could have done something about it (I couldn't have), because I initially 'consented' (under duress and physically abusive coercion, 'consent' which I later revoked both verbally and physically), and that she did not "agree [with me] on the definition of r*pe"--I was strangled, it was not consensual BY ANY MEANS. I had severe PTSD at the time and still do (which has thankfully been significantly helped and managed by professionals who are ACTUALLY COMPETENT and trauma informed), and this incident upset me to the degree of writing a suicide note in my car after our session. I had to leave NYP as a patient soon thereafter because I was so traumatized by this person and could not walk into the building without feeling intensely rageful, suicidal, and misunderstood. DO NOT SEE THIS PERSON. This person should not be "treating" mentally ill individuals at all and certainly should not be engaging with clients that have a significant history of trauma. SHE IS NOT TRAUMA INFORMED. I am appalled that she has the power to "care" for anyone in pain because she extended me very little compassion, validation, understanding, care, or listening after one of the worst things I've ever been through.

I have had many experiences with psychologists and psychiatrists since I was eight years old (I am 65 now. I stumbled upon these intelligent, intuitive practitioners in 2020, when Covid hit and connecting with any type of doctor was almost impossible. I have three adult children who have been in therapy off and on throughout their lives, so as a parent and a patient, I know that there are an enormous amount of therapists who practice under differing degrees, who are utter idiots. These practitioners are truly dangerous. People seek psychiatric care when they are at their most vulnerable and are suffering. These patients walk in to a therapist's office and place their trust on the laps of a person who proclaim themselves as informed, intuitive therapists who can provide help. I can spot an idiotic therapist within ten minutes of conversation. Not one of the people who work, in any capacity at TMS of Westchester and TTC Psychiatric fall into the previously mentioned category. I was stunned by the high level of respect, caring, integrity and intuition of every person who works there. It is a horror that there are so many people practicing as any form of therapist who do not continue to educate themselves, due to laziness, arrogance or believe that they know it all and need never again have to learn anything from anyone. The practitioners at TTC Psychiatric and TMS of Westchester are all clearly continuing to be informed, by reliable sources, In all of my personal experience as a mother and patient have never before I encountered such a remarkable group of people as those who work at TMS of Westchester and TTC Psychiatric.
