I did a candle making event here and it was murder mystery theme based. It was so much fun. Our host was Karen and she was so sweet. Karen made everyone felt welcome. She offered cookies, sodas, fruity sangria. I made one of the amazing smelling candles - thanks to Karen for her recommendations. We had the best date night at the candle studio! Ogi was such a great host and I will definitely come back to her studio! She made the experience more than just candle making but including some fun activities in between to bond with your partner since we opted for the "couples candle making class". The class came with a complimentary wine bottle and some popcorn! She started us off by getting to know what scents we like and had us rate 10 different scents by how we felt when we smelt them! Truly a unique experience as you get to smell pure scents without any add preservatives. From there she made an amazing concussion of scents we rated highly and got us ready to prep our candles. The process takes around 15-20 mins and during that time we also made a lotion with our scents. I liked the fact that her candles were soy based and the color came from crayons melting with the wax. Ogi also spiced things up by teaching us the benefits about massage oil candles and got us making those too!! Overall a truly great experience, the studio was very intimate and cozy! I would definitely recommend booking a class here for the best candle making experience! read more

Let me start by saying, this was such a great experience. I've never made candles before, so I was a bit worried. Ogi, made sure the candle making experience was "above average". When we arrived, we were greeted with champagne. We also ended up making massage oils as well. We had no idea that was included, but it was so nice making candles and making oils. Throughout this entire experience may favorite thing was checking in with my significant partner. Ogi created icebreakers to build the connection/emphasize your relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Hubby and I took the Romantic Couples Candlemaking Class to celebrate our anniversary and we are so glad we did. It was such a nice treat and something different to do together. So sweet and romantic and fun. Ogi and her team were warm and hilarious and super-helpful, and making dreamy candles was just the beginning. Adorable activities reinforced couples' connections, plus the evening included a bottle of wine (or soft drinks), a custom scented massage oil candle, a sample sized lotion, plus our two custom candles (they take a while to cool, so shipping is included). My partner and I attended the After Dark Couples Candle-Making class in March for our anniversary. We didn't know what to expect but this exceeded anything we even thought we wanted. The setting was intimate and the owner/instructor was so knowledgeable about scents and engaging (and also hilarious). The way the class was structured was absolutely brilliant in that it wove in couples bonding with fun prompts and activities, information about how scents work and how each scent evokes certain emotions, and then of course the actual candle-making. This was one of the best dates my partner and I have ever been on and I give all the credit to how amazing the owner/instructors is! (Oh, and it's Black woman owned... so extra extra points for that). We'll be back FOR SURE. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful date night here hosted by Ogi. Not only was Ogi warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and very funny, but she helped create a wonderful, fun atmosphere to bring couples or family members together. I originally booked us for a fragrance making class. Ogi reached out in advance to let me know that it wasn't running and she was able to move us into the candle making class which, in hindsight, may have been the better choice. Highly recommended. I booked a couples class in hopes that my husband and I (gay-friendly venue, btw) would quietly make some candles for a nice date night idea -- wrong! Ogi made this candle making class a complete love-rekindling excursion and it was amazing!
