So they then have to come out to finish the job, and they then charge us 50% more because they couldn't finish the job in one day. Because they didn't schedule the work with us so that there was no contractor. They originally charged $3095 which was paid in full and now trying to charge $1732 more. Complete and total rip-off.

They worked safely and avoided any property damage. On the technical side of things, I was satisfied. The bad: The quoting and scheduling process was very disappointing. The estimator visited my property (without me present) and provided a quote after walking the site. A month later, when the scheduled workday came, the technician suddenly said he couldn't honor the quote. He claimed I had poured a new cement driveway since the quote, which was simply not true -- the driveway had been there all along. He explained that using their truck might damage the driveway, so the tree would need to be climbed and removed a different way. That's fine, but the $800 price increase should have been acknowledged as their mistake, not blamed on me. I even offered to meet halfway, but he refused and insisted on the full amount. With no other option, I agreed just to get the tree down. Bottom line: the tree was removed safely, but the lack of accountability and the last-minute upcharge left a very bad impression. The reaction of the owner of this business was totally unjustified as was his use of racist dogwhistles regarding what he alleged it was like to "do business in the City." To summarize, this business does not load its trucks properly, endangering anyone who comes near its vehicles. The employees and owners refuse to take responsibility for their negligent conduct. When their negligent conduct is called out, they become aggressive and employ borderline racist and bullying language to intimidate women. Don't patronize this business.
