So I recently brought a pretty pricey new coat a few months ago but the buttons on it weren't done so with the best sewing job...little by little with my heavy-ish crossbody bag and my active life style all of the threading on 4 buttons undid themselves. I called here in advance and I spoke to a man by the name of Alex. He quoted be $3-5 a button. Okay I figured, I'll head on over. Upon entering this place is kind of a mess and looks like it hasn't seen a clearning supply in years...but whatevs, I'm not living there right, lol. When he examined my coat and the buttons (which have one really simple hole - no 2 or 4 hole hard to sew buttons here folks - I added pictures for visual purposes) he of course quoted me the most - so it was $20 to sew 4 one-holed buttons onto my pretty thin wool coat. That's ridiculous as was his attitude. He exuded warmth and customer service on the phone but in person it was a whole different experience. I decided I'd just sew them on myself so I purchased 3 THREAD STRINGS and a cheapo needle for $5 because I was desperate. I get settled in a nearby park and the thread was way too thick to even enter the needle head. I ended up going to a much CLEANER spot where I was charged $3 a button and it was done quickly on the spot with heavy duty thread. This spot is closer to my office, but the other spot (FANCY DRY CLEANERS & TAILORS - 141 W 35th St #1, New York, NY 10001) is my new go to place for all my tailoring needs.

Great service, nice people, quick turn around. I found they had a better variety of choices.

Great owners with a great collection. I needed something for a gala & they provided me with a great tux that yielded a lot of compliments.

We went in, said hello, mentioned we were looking for Indian wedding clothes. When my husband found something he wanted to try, Ruchi responded and said "you cannot try that on. You said you are just looking, not buying right?" My husband responded by saying "How could I know if I'm buying something if I don't try it on?" She reiterated that since he had stated he was "just looking" that he would not be allowed to try any clothes on. At that point we realized we would not want to shop/buy anything there so we left the store. Thankfully, across the street at Vintage India a very nice young lady assisted us and we had great success in trying on/buying several outfits as was our goal. Ruchi could not have been more rude in response to our friendly hello. It was very upsetting and unexpected. Unclear if she was racist? We are Asian American...perhaps she dislikes Chinese people? Just bizarre and have never been treated so poorly before. We will never step back into this store again!

The 'tailor' if that's what you want to call him, fit my son for a suit - ok, it was fine in the store. they give us the tiniest window to pick the suit up, try it on and go back if you have any issues. Now, with a senior student athlete and a day and a half of a game, senior decision morning, practice and then prom, it was not convenient to drive the thirty minutes ONE WAY to show the store that the 30" inseam pant they measured my son for, was actually a 27" in the bag. horrible. we had no time to swap the pants out and this suit look ridiculous. NEVER WILL I SPEND MONEY OR TIME THERE AGAIN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.
