While visiting Aberystwyth, we needed to visit the site of the Castle. It is an easy walk and there are nice views of the sea, the promenade and the old church and university site. I loved touching some of the old stone remnants of what once must have been a majestic fortress. Great photo ops for us as we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the grounds and then through town.
We were here waaaaaaay off season. During Christmastime. Though we came for a purpose, to visit the university, I imagine it a very lively place during summer.
I am giving four stars because a) I love castles, b) The experience was intimate, so we could venture around at our own pace, c) It was a beautiful crisp day that made for a memorable day, d) there truly isn't a whole lot going on in Aber in December! read more
