I've been a vocal supporter of Aberdeen and its owner for many years, and I was so excited to have them design, build, and install floating dressers in my 19th century loft's closet space. The design was great, although they seemed frustrated when I'd ask for small changes to be made (some of which were not changes, but things we'd already discussed). After paying the deposit, I checked in every week or two and to my surprise, after eight weeks, construction of the dressers still had not begun. I expressed that I did not feel as though my project was being prioritized, and they repeatedly (and frustratedly) told me that their process took time.
Finally, after months, they abandoned the project, saying "we don't think we are a good fit for this project any longer." It's unbelievable to me that a company would bail on a job they'd agreed to do after multiple months (without having built anything), especially a company I'd recommended to so many friends, clients, and colleagues.
After all that misery, I found an incredible cabinetmaker who happily listened to my thoughts, carefully made changes to the design, and built/stained/installed my new dressers in just over two weeks, and even saved me $1,000. read more
