Super cheap and tasty wines in the boat! So amazing it is almost mythical... here is the story…read more One day I walked into Weavers, B-lined to the Wine Boat (as I always do). After 2 minutes picking out wines I noticed a wine that I knew all too well. One of my favorite white wines of all time. I know this wine because I lived in Rome for a year an actually purchased a case directly from the vineyard in Tuscany. I paid 100 euros for this case at the time about 145$ not too bad for a top notch wine. But here I am standing in Elkton MD looking at the exact same wine for less than 60$ for a case... HOW CAN THIS BE?! I was there, at the vineyard, I paid cash, they didn't ship it! Regardless I snagged myself another case took it home and sure enough, same wine, same vineyard, same year, everything! Only difference my wine was in Italian and Weavers was in English. Trust me, both are super tasty. I go well out of my way to go to Weavers. The best wine, beer and liquor prices I've found!

There's a big old wooden boat inside the store that has bottles of various types of delicious wine for $3.99 - and even further discounted if you buy a case at a time. We got malbec, cab, merlot, sauv blanc, etc. and they taste as great as any more expensive brands in my opinion - it's just the overstock bottles that they're trying to push. Coming from Philadelphia, I found the rest of the store to be pretty good prices too! I'm looking forward to my next pit stop here in the near future.

Wine!!! Beer!!! Whiskey!!! All in one place!!! Lovely I tell you! This is a nice liquor store that…read morehas several different...well i should say about every option of adult beverage you can think of! They also have a guy that goes by the name of "JIM!!" Let me tell you he is the real MVP! He can answer every and any question regarding liquor!! He knew where everything was and a story behind different bottles!! I loved every second of his information! They have dollar days that they advertise for. So their dollar days is basically some items (they will have dollar tags that tell you the price) that are marked down to the price they pay plus a dollar. So the cheapest I seen a bottle was $4...there could be cheaper but that's what I noticed. I was able to purchase 5 bottles for $35. The reason they are getting 4 stars is because I did notice some of the rather cheap bottles of stuff from champagne to wines were pricey. If you have ever heard of Venti...it's a bubbly champagne and they were selling it for $14.99....I have never seen it more than $7. One of my favorite wines Electra, normally is no more than $8 was $17.99 there...big up charge. Other than the up charge the place was cleaned and had friendly employees! If you catch the times they do the dollar days...they have a tone of Sample tables....so why not drink a cup or five while you are shopping!!

I didn't notice, but the staff member helping me placed both bottles in a single bagged plastic bag with nothing to separate them. When I got home and picked the bag up from the seat of my vehicle, the bottoms clinked together and the bottom of one popped out. I wasn't rough, but it doesn't take much glass on glass contact with a bottle that size to break it. Even though every other place I've ever shopped at has always separated bottles in one way or another, not wanting to be a Karen, I asked, what I thought was very reasonably, that they sell me a replacement at cost. This way they don't lose any money, and it offsets my loss. The manager told me he would ask the vendor about it. When I followed up he said the vendor declined to replace it, and the owner refused to sell me one at cost. Just recently I was shopping at a different store and I asked that owner what they thought. They said the vendor will always replace breakage but in the event that they did not, he agreed the store should have helped. He also showed me a pile of cut up cigarette boxes that they used to separate their bottles . So, rather than forgoing the profit on a single bottle, this business will now forego the profit on every bottle I would have bought in the future. They don't care about their customers here.
