They also have a guy that goes by the name of "JIM!!" Let me tell you he is the real MVP! He can answer every and any question regarding liquor!! He knew where everything was and a story behind different bottles!! I loved every second of his information! They have dollar days that they advertise for. So their dollar days is basically some items (they will have dollar tags that tell you the price) that are marked down to the price they pay plus a dollar. So the cheapest I seen a bottle was $4...there could be cheaper but that's what I noticed. I was able to purchase 5 bottles for $35. The reason they are getting 4 stars is because I did notice some of the rather cheap bottles of stuff from champagne to wines were pricey. If you have ever heard of Venti...it's a bubbly champagne and they were selling it for $14.99....I have never seen it more than $7. One of my favorite wines Electra, normally is no more than $8 was $17.99 there...big up charge. Other than the up charge the place was cleaned and had friendly employees! If you catch the times they do the dollar days...they have a tone of Sample tables....so why not drink a cup or five while you are shopping!! read more

If I could leave a zero review I would. The owner accused his employees of stealing Bernstein a customer wanted cold Fireball and he had a broken Fireball refrigerator and wouldn't fix it. The employees, trying to make customers happy put them in the freezer, that's when the owner accused them of stealing. Smitty's in Fallston has everything Ronnie's has but at a much cheaper price. I know a few "former" employees that says the owner is a MF and I offered to talk to them but the employees bitched out even when I was in their side. Go to Smitty's on Bel Air Rd and 152. You will be treated with respect and they are sooooooooo much cheaper. read more

To whom this may concern, As a wine connoisseur myself I have travelled around the globe, tasting and acquiring some of the finest wines from the greatest of establishments. I have been acquaint with red wine from an early age, to the point where I am confident and familiar enough to tell the difference between a Rocca and a Rossa di Montalcino from their scent alone. After looking to purchase a nice bottle of wine for dinner I decided to visit Ronnie' beverage warehouse. Quite frankly the experience of browsing the selections of wines was truly awful, I became incredibly exasperated with incredibly minute signs labelling all the bottles of wines and almost found it impossible to explore the variety of wines as I was unable to read Ronnie's labelling! After choosing my product with a great struggle I attempted to locate the price on the bottle, which again felt like an impossible task unless you were gifted with 2020 vision, which lets face it most of the customers aren't. Putting this behind me I proceeded to the check out where, to my disappointment, was instantly greeted by what can only be described as truly awful customer service. Trying to move on from my ordeal, I could think of nothing better then enjoying my beverage which I was just about to purchase. Unfortunately, after the shop clerk rung up the bottle on the till I realised the price was much higher then what I usually pay and would expect to pay for the beverage of my choice. Ronnie's has a great selection compared with other beverage places. However, their prices are on the higher side. I generally only stop there if there is some sort of sale, e.g. recent one dollar over their cost sale, even though they are located on a route I frequently travel. On that point, they do not allow you to take a cart into the parking area. If I purchase a large amount, I need assistance in getting my purchase to my car. Sale savings are thus partially eaten away as I feel obligated to tip the person assisting me. More likely to shop at Wine World. read more

Ronnie's was once a stalwart of the area. I too, grew up going on the reg with my dad & have fond memories of going into the refrigerated room & being given a pretzel stick as we left.... Then, when I got older - it was the go-to place for an interesting 6 pack or best price for a keg.... Now, it seems to have lost a lot of variety & quality. The last few times I was in, I walked around trying to find interesting European bottles of wine for a nice price without any success. I believe you can probably still get some deals there, but ... There are a million liquor stores in the world (billion, maybe?), but it can be a crap shoot trying to guess which ones will actually have a decent craft beer selection. Sometimes they'll have a hundred vodka brands (all clear and flavorless!), but nothing but the Big 3 in the beer cooler. So I was hoping for the best when we pulled into Ronnie's. And what we found was pretty close. They have a large, though not overwhelming, selection of craft brews, and they had exactly what I was looking for (Troeg's Imperial Pale.) I was assisted with my find by an employee (who didn't even look old enough to drink) as soon as I got to the beer shelves, and the woman at the register was friendly as well, especially after seeing my out-of-state ID. Maybe there's another beer heaven in Bel Air, but next time I'm here visiting family, I know where to start my hunt for regional beverages. read more

Great liquor store if you are over the age of 40. As a 23 year old, I always get ID'd and I don't really mind but at Ronnie's the woman behind the counter prides herself with the task. I walk up to the counter with 4 bottles of premium liquor and wine. With my hands clearly full, and struggling to hold it all, the nasty old woman asks to see my ID before I even get to the counter. Struggling to put the items on the counter she refuses to help until I present my ID. After dropping all the items, I can finally reach my wallet and prove that I am 23. After she studies it for 5 minutes and has someone else look at it, she begins to process my order with extreme attitude. I respect the law and understand the practice of checking IDs but this instance was over the top and extremely off putting. Well worth looking for a liquor store with some form of customer service. read more

Ronnies has a nice wide selection of any beverage you are looking for. So that's a plus. They are way over priced on all beverages. Also think it's silly that they do not honor their discounts the day before and day of a holiday. read more

Been going here since I moved to MD. Cant beat their daily specials. And how can you not love a place that does "Dollar Day" once every few months. Everything in the store is $1 over their cost. Great deal! Wine selection is good, prices are solid. Craft beer selection is great, and being tucked away in Forest Hill you can usually find a lot of brews you cant find elsewhere!! This place has been here forever. I can remember being excited to go here as a kid because it meant getting to go into the walk-in fridge and getting a pretzel stick when you leave. Now, I get excited walking in to see what craft beer offerings they have. It's not the biggest selection in around, but you won't find a better one within 15 minutes of here. The prices can be high on some items, but they are competitive and their dollar days can't be beat. Besides, I'll pay a little extra for the convenience of being able to walk here. read more

I'm a native to Harford County, and I can remember when Ronnie's started a store in the shopping center at the corner of Bynum Rd and Rt. 24. It was so very small, but I was always able to find what I wanted. I've been a loyal customer, even after Ronnie and Jim retired and sold the business. They have a terrific selection of wines, both local and international, and I find them to be reasonably priced. I've always had good service, and the front end people are extremely pleasant. Ronnie's is by far the best liquor store in the area. They are always willing to help and look out for their customers. About two years ago I discovered my favorite vodka was being discontinued when I inquired why it wasn't on the shelf. They ended up tracking down the last three cases and selling them to me at cost. Since then I have discovered they are willing to order most anything they d not carry regularly. They have also pointed out promotions to me when I was unaware to help me save money. They clearly rather make their profits from happy, repeat customers rather than the easy route. read more

Ronnie's provided the alcohol for our wedding reception, an we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The prices were excellent, and the customer service was even better. Our consultant circled back to us several times after we had placed the initial order to let us know about newly released beers of interest. Delivery to our reception site was included, and all I the alcohol arrived chilled and with ample ice to keep the chilling going. We will happily use Ronnie's again and again! read more

I own a food truck that sets up once in awhile in front of this establishment. The first time we went to this place to sell pizza my staff was raving about how amazingly nice the people who work here are. I've been in twice since then, besides the attentive staff working at Ronnies, they have one of the largest selections of beer and liquor I have seen in a store. I am a big fan of Ronnie's, it has become my go to for craft beer. Great prices, selection and more importantly a knowledgeable staff. I grew up in Harford County and their are a lot of options for liquor stores. But hands down Ronnie's is the best. One major reason is the expertise of Shane McCarthy. Every time I go in he passes on that knowledge to me. He loves what he does and it shows! All the beers he has recommended me have been great. You have gained a customer for life. They have great staff people who are very knowledgeable about anything you might need and offer their best advice without condescension--no wine or beer snobs here! Clean, well-lighted store with helpful, friendly staff made my wine gift shopping a pleasure. The employees appear to be very knowledgeable about the wines they carry and when they couldn't come up with an item on my list, were very helpful with suggestions for a substitute. To shop at Ronnie's, I pass at least three other stores that sell liquor. It's well worth the extra couple of miles. If you are a senior, there is always a 10% discount, too! read more

Moved to the area about 10 years ago and kind of settled on Ronnie's as a matter of convenience due to location. Between their daily specials (case beer $1 over cost on Mondays, similar wine and liquor deals the rest of the week) and quarterly "Dollar Days" Ronnie's gives you every opportunity to avoid paying even MD's relatively low "everyday" prices. Great, but not unique. What makes Ronnie's a standout is their selection and customer service. Just ask, and you'll find a willing member of staff to help you out. No hipster snobs here either, just people that share your appreciation for beer / wine / whatever and are happy to share their knowledge from dealing with distributors, wineries and breweries. I've gotten some great wine advice from staff on occasion - they don't steer you straight to the top shelf, either, and I've found some sub-$20 bottle gems that are simply amazing. And if you're into craft beer they have really done a number on the craft beer selection over the past few years as well, delivering some great variety from the locals (Heavy Seas, Stone, Flying Dog, etc.) while bringing in some amazing stuff from national favorites (seeing something from New Belgium other than Fat Tire in MD is a godsend). They also carry some real off-the-wall stuff like sours, limited releases and other one-offs (Stone's "Enjoy by" series comes to mind) that are real tough to find elsewhere. If you fancy a case of something special, you can special order almost anything that the distributors can get their hands on, and they're good about holding on to special orders so you can take advantage of the sale prices when you come in to pick it up and pay for it. Craft beer lovers absolutely have to talk to Shane and Ross - both 1st level cicerones - they know they're stuff and they reward their loyal customers with top-notch service. Finally, it's a great place to stop in on Friday's after a tough week and enjoy the frequent tastings. The month-long Sammy Smith "Organic Ale" event was simply epic and turned me on to possibly the best chocolate-flavor beer in existence. Walk up to the cash register with an armful of random bottles and they'll pack it all up with expert care in leftover beer boxes, strategically placing cardboard dividers and stuffing it with packing paper so your precious liquor doesn't bang around on the way home. No chintzy plastic grocery bags here. One could be tempted to dock Ronnie's a star for not being the biggest or for being a little crowded at peak. But rarely do you find a community-oriented liquor store that caters to aficionados of the craft. I really have a hard time seeing how it could be done any better. UPDATE 7/17/2014 - Stopped into Ronnie's today - Shane came up and said he had a surprise for me. Apparently they'd had a case of Saison duPont come through a couple weeks ago that quickly sold out - but he held onto a bomber for me, knowing my tastes and thinking I would probably enjoy it. You simply don't find people like that much anymore. Top notch place, top notch staff. 5+ stars. read more

Great place. Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their craft beer selection has been expanded and is awesome. I love this place. I make sure to shop on the days when I can get a discount. No other place offers dollar over cost on their beer on Mondays for 18 packs or greater if you pay by cash or check that I know of - and 20% off craft beer on Thursdays. Their dollar day is awesome - $1 over cost for all wine, beer and liquor if you pay by cash or check. My biggest beef with Ronnie's is their prices. They have a few everyday specials that are decent, but overall their prices are much higher than you would expect from a store their size. A few people mention Ronnie's "Dollar Days", on these days, Ronnie's advertises that everything in the store is one dollar over their cost, if this is true, they certainly are paying too much! On Dollar Days, they don't post the sale price, you have to bring your items to the register, you don't know how much it is until they ring it up. Yesterday, 08/14/13, was their most recent Dollar Day, I had a whole shopping cart filled with items, the lines were very long, so while waiting to checkout, using my iPhone I checked prices at my favorite liquor store, Beltway Fine Wines (now Total Wine) in Towson. When I finally got to the checkout, every single item in my cart was at least one to three dollars more than the everyday prices at Beltway! I apologized and left without buying anything.
