Terrible experience all around. She was running behind when I got there, butchered my hair and didn't do any of the things I booked and paid for. She wasted half the time asking what I wanted, even though I told her I sent over the questionnaire with reference photos like she asked. No shampoo, just a choppy dry cut that was supposed to be no shorter than my waist. She had me stand, turned away from the mirror when she made the first chop and then ran to the garbage can by the back room to dump it. When I said it seemed too short, she told me that long hair is not flattering on my body type, told me I need to work out until I sweat. When I emailed her to tell her I was unhappy with how uneven, frizzy and not even close to how I wanted it was, she blamed me and "hormones." I guess if you're someone who will gossip about kissing married men in bars she will treat you well, otherwise you'll pay $150 for a dry, frizzy chop and be told you're fat by someone your same size. read more

Abbey is such a great hair stylist. I went to her for the first time recently. She spent time to study my face shape and also matching hair color's to my skin tone. My new haircut is a fantastic shape, it works so well with my natural curls. On my 2nd appointment, we tackled lightening my hair from my botched covid home dye job (oops!). The lightening approach she took was very mild, not requiring bleaching the hair and leave it fried. I then waited a few days for the final step to add color and red highlights. Today was my first visit to Abelia Salon and I am in love with my hair and the entire experience. I love that when booking the appt you submit a photo of your current hair along with a photo of what you are looking for. Once she seemed to have a clear vision of what I'm looking for she went to work mixing her colors as I relaxed. There is minimal conversation which also aided to being able to relax and enjoy the process. The scalp massage was INCREDIBLE and when I first saw my hair after being blow dried I was instantly happy! That is not always the case at a new salon. I made the decision to cut my hair after 3 years of growing it long. I wanted to donate it and found 'Children With Hair Loss'. They are an organization who provide wigs to children for FREE until they are 18. Unlike other organizations who now charge for wigs. My hair is super thick and it's a challenge to cut and style so I needed someone very good. I read all the reviews for the Abelia Salon and made the call. A very sweet lady, Julie, answered the phone. They had a cancellation the same day. Good thing because I might have lost my nerve!! She explained it would be an hour long appointment where Abby would provide a consultation on hair products, use, hair health and care plus go over what I wanted done. I went in for my appointment and met Abby. The Salon was very professional and relaxing. Abby was very friendly. She explained hair projects, whats good and bad and why. I did learn a few things and I'm 55 years old. The hair care market is always changing! She explained there was a better way for cut all my hair for donation than one giant ponytail. It would be better for my cut and better for the donation. Since I work out everyday, she used a product called Co Wash from Paul Mitchell, and I had just washed my hair that morning. It cleanses and conditions the hair and scalp without stripping my hair. She then gave my hair an amino acid treatment and a massage along with some aromatherapy. The cut began! She saged my hair before we cut it, which I LOVED! Getting all the good energy for my hair donation before it's cut and shipped off. Great! Sending positive energy along with my hair donation. She gave me a great cut. Julie came in and did the blow out and styling. Julie explained what she was doing while she was doing it so I can duplicate the results at home. This was more than a salon experience. This was a Spa experience. Definitely worth every penny and I WILL be going back for trims. The salon itself is a very comforting ll relaxing space and it's really nice to be the only person there at a time.
